Don't let any negative Nelly's get you down...you guys eat very healthy....and there is an 80% rule...Eat healthy 80% of the time...You are a lovely loving family...and it shows❤
Hespe fam: I love your channel....you, Katie, Tim and Benson! Do NOT let negative comments get you down. If people can’t be constructive, they are not worth your time! Love you guys! 💜❤️
Kimchi is Korean so it’s good on many Asian meals. Any sort of rice bowl kimchi is a great topping. For me it was an acquired taste so I had to try it a few times before I really started to like it.
Get the TJ’s veggie fried rice, add a fried egg on top, a dollop of kimchi, a drizzle of sriracha & soy sauce and some diced scallions...boom, delicious!
Love how adventurous your family is with trying different foods. I’m not, but my hubby is willing. Cutest family ever! Benson, we all love you, little man. 😘
My family prepares the labneh with olive oil, salt, pepper, paprika, and mint on top of it! Then we make sandwiches with pita bread. It pairs well with olives, persian cucumbers, fresh mint, cheese (feta, hallum, etc.) inside of it the sandwich!
I love kimchi, my sister in law is Korean, she made it with rice under it. I am AMAZED that Benson had such good manners. "Excuse me"... What a refreshing lovely child.♥️🙏♥️🙏♥️
I don’t know if I’m going to get in trouble with people who eat labneh regularly but the way I eat it is I put a layer of it on some flatbread, slice up some fresh figs and put them on top with a sprinkle of ground cardamom and a drizzle of honey and it is SO DELICIOUS!
I watch all your videos and have always assumed your son was just camera shy so when I heard his little voice say excuse me I couldnt help smile he is adorable.
I'm middle eastern. We typically spread this on a warmed pita or use it as a dip, you must drizzle olive oil over the labneh (only way it's done in my eyes haha). You can also include others dips like red pepper sauce (any will do like the bamba), za'atar and olive oil (olive oil almost acts like a glue for the za'atar) on the side. I like to mix all at once. Typically dipped with a warmed up pita directly on the stove top.
I don't think I have ever laughed so much at Tim's facial expression. That one had to be his best yet! Also, thanks Tim for answering my unasked question as to whether the almond butter cups taste like the smaller ones inn the plastic container. Those are delicious. Benson was his usual adorable self. His "excuse me " was priceless. Very enjoyable video fro, a very down to earth family!
Kimchi can be plain, kimchi fried rice, kimchi pancake, Bibimbap, Kimchi sujebi, Kimchi soup, Soodubu-Jigae, Kimchi dumplings, Kimchi and Mackeral Stew, Kimchi Pork Buns, Braised Kimchi and Pork, Army Base Stew. And it's not just the Napa Cabbage Kimchi, there is also radish kimchi, green pepper kimchi, Cucumber kimchi, etc.
however, I'm going to have to try that Kimchi from Trader Joes cause I've never heard vinegar being an ingredient. Also, Kimchi is easy to make your own, or go to the Korean store and buy it in huge tubs.
Great video! Love that both of you are willing to try things and provide honest and “real” opinions. Hold your head high and dismiss anyone being judgmental. Sending love and positivity from N.C.🥰
Kimchi is a good probiotic food! It’s so versatile. My husband is Korean and I’ve learned so many ways of making this into so many things! Add it into any stir fry, kimchi tofu soup, mixed rice bowl, a side dish, etc.
Love kimchi! I didn’t even know TJ had it, must have missed it from my yesterday’s trip 🤣 there are already many comments suggesting how you can eat it so I’ll just advise to put a layer of plastic wrap underneath the cap or transfer it to an airtight container before you put it in the fridge, or it WILL stink up your fridge hahahaha
If you haven't eaten kimchi before, the best way to have it first is to pan fry it for a little bit - it helps to reduce the "fermented" taste of it and makes it sweeter in taste. Best to add the pan fried kimchi into a fried rice! And for Tim, he can add the pan fried kimchi with some beef and make a little korean barbeque.
I just love to see yall doing the taste testing because i know i'm going to get a laugh when it comes to Tim and i'm still laughing. Glad you are okay Tim. TFS and have a wonderful evening.
Great job! Benson is adorable. I put the freeze dried fruit in my coffee grider and put it in pancakes with chunks and used the fruit dust on whipped cream on a sundae.
I just eat kimchi plain out of the jar but my family says I’m weird 😂 they prefer it with white rice, in fried rice or in bibimbap. Oooooh and it’s really good on top of an impossible burger! That’s my sons newest obsession haha
Tim’s reaction to the cheese was everything! 😂 Good that the remaining items were yummy. 😃 The veggies, quiche and almond cups are on my list now. Awesome taste test Hespe family! 😃 🌷Anita
Kimchi avocado toast, as a salad topping, eat it on the side with your rice/asha ramen. there are sooo many options, bascially anythng you would put sauerkraut or pickles on for an extra kick
You have such a lovely family. Poor Tim, I've had that reaction to stronger cheese too. I'm glad the beer helped. I love your videos, they give me more info before buying items. Now I want to try the quiche. :)
You can make an easy Kimchi Fried Rice if you want to try it heated. If I was trying to make an easy Made with TJ’s lunch, I would microwave a packet of the Brown or Jasmine Rice and grab a pack of Roasted Seaweed snack. Use a piece of seaweed as a vessel and scoop a small amount of rice onto it and then top with a bite of kimchi and enjoy! 😊
You can add kimchi to anything. Typically just used as a side to add crunch and flavor, like a pickle or jalapeño. Tim could try adding it to his breakfast burrito.
Kimchi is good when it’s cold from the fridge. Eat it with hot steamed white rice and it’s a great combo of hot and cold. Eat it with a side of grilled chicken or salmon. Kimchi pancakes are really good too.
freeze dried fruit you can make your own starbucks refreshers. add the strawberries to the sparkling strawberry juice. kimchi is always good with white rice mixed with sesame oil, coconut aminos and butter or fried rice
Making a kimchi pancake is a really good way to use it. That really mellows out the flavor of the kimchi and makes a great savory pancake. As a lot of others have said, it’s also great to include with fried rice. I like it even with plain brown rice, but I love the fermented flavor of it
It was so great to see the taste test and I'm definitely interested in the roasted vegetables because of my disability I don't have a way to make them fancy and they look like they are really yummy and the protein bars sound amazing! Big hugs for you!
Kimchi cheese quesadilla, kimchi bacon cheese fried rice for Tim, you can eat kimchi like a sauerkraut, also look up cucumber kimchi and that would be the same thing instead of cabbage, kimchi tofu fried rice, kimchi topped ramen, add water and broth for a kimchi stew. It’s such a great probiotic and delicious little kick. Glad it’s getting more popular!
You can use kimchi with fried rice, kimchi soup with tofu with lots of veggies, add kimchi in the burger, add it to the California roll or buddha bowl. Its smelly, but it's good for your gut!!! I eat kimchi with almost everything in my meals. Its a must have staple in the Korean families fridge. There's even a kimchi fridge thats sold in the Korean supermarkets!! The kimchi tastes even better coming out from the kimchi fridge.
For the meat eater, kimchi goes well with Korean style marinated beef, brisket, rib eyes, chicken, etc. Also, you can make kimchi fried rice, kimchi omelette, add kimchi to any Asian style salad, rice bowls, poke bowl, and sandwiches. You can even make kimchi ramen or spaghetti style kimchi. Kimchi also goes well infused into Mexican style food, kimchi quesadilla, tacos, and burritos :)
My bf loves kimchi by itself with Asian food. Katie, your blouse is stunning and you look lovely today. Tim always wears the coolest shirts and Benson is too cute for words!
I am so glad I saw this before I went to TJ's because I would not have thought to pick up those protein bars. You guys sold me! I agree with other comments: you would love a kimchi fried rice recipe, look one up on RUclips. It is so delicious!
You can stir fry it in Kimchi fried rice. It's also a very popular side dish to eat with anything like eggs or any protein of choice like tofu. It goes well with the korean scallion pancakes or the Bibimbap in the frozen aisle at TJ. You can top any rice bowls, noodle dishes like ramen or incorporate it in grilled cheese sandwiches or quesadillas. Hope this helps.
Kimchi could go with pretty much everything! On salads, with rice and meat (meat alternatives), in veggie wraps, even with burgers! My favorite way to eat it is with rice and meat alternative (or fish) wrapped in lettuce!
Kudos to you for trying something new. Kimchi is Great with Korean bbq (bulgogi, kalbi), make a fried rice with egg, kimchi soup with tofu, kimchi pancake. So many Korean dishes.
Kimchi is paired with main dishes like black bean noodles, grilled pork belly, korean army soup ( Budae Jjagae) ,hangover soup, Bulgogi bbq beef, Korean pancake (Jeon), sundubu( soft tofu soup) sooo good, and delicious kimchi fried rice sooo guud! Must try!
Really enjoyed this and Tim’s face with that cheese was enough for me to not try it. Lol My store today was out of those dark chocolate almond butter cups but we got there on the late side. Still loaded up with some favorites
Wasn’t a fan of kimchi at first, and then I tried kimchi fried rice. Now I love it! Try it as a side with Korean beef (Bulgogi) or Korean short ribs (kalbi) and rice.
Hi Katie, the Kimchi is a side dish to Korean meals. You eat it with your main dish. Most eat it with rice. Here is a recipe you and Tim will like. Mix the kimchi with cooked shrimp in a flour mini taco shell.
When I eat kim chi, I eat it as a side dish with rice and nori. I'd also put it in some Korean tofu soup. I don't eat pickled vegetables often now as I've heard it's correlated to colorectal cancer, but I used to eat it when growing up.
Definitely getting quiche, almond butter chocolate cups, and organic three berry mix from your taste tests. Tim and Benson pulled no punches on their assessments.
Kimchi is the national food of Korea. An entire country literally eat this every day. If you've never had it before, it may take a bit of time to adjust to the bold flavor of it, but there are so many things to make with it. Check out Maangchi here on RUclips. She has millions of loyal subscribers following her Korean food recipes. And like sauerkraut, it's great for your gut. sauerkraut is made with regular cabbage, kimchi is made with napa cabbage, both are fermented cabbage products.
I eat kimchi all the time. Its a side dish but you can also put it in tofu soup, eggs, rice, tuna...enhanced with a tiny bit of sugar. Eventually you get hooked on it.
I used to make an onion dip with labneh, cream cheese, carmelized onions, shallots and I think there was another onion. It was delicious as a dip or on a baked potato.
Kimchi and short grain or sushi rice is really good. Kimchi pancakes, kimchi stew, stir fry rice are some of my favorites too. It goes really good with rich dishes...surprisingly good with cheesy rice cakes...dokbokki! Love your videos! Thanks for sharing!!
I eat kimchi in every meal, I squeeze out extra liqluid in my palm and added to my spring mix salad to add more texture and veggies, sometimes it is flavored enough I dont need extra dressing
I grew up on kimchi so love it. You can cook it but we usually eat it as is with rice. For you, I suggest eating it with spaghetti (red sauce) or lasagna. Not mixed in but on the side. Bite of spaghetti and bite of kimchi. I like having steak with rice and kimchi too. You can have it with rice and eggs on the side. Rice and seaweed. Rice and bone broth soup with kimchi on the side.
Oh and make sure you refrigerate. You can wrap one or two plastic bags around it so that the smell does not permeate inside your fridge. If you leave it out, it will ferment fast and get a stronger flavor, which is good for cooking.
We tried the sparkling mineral water from your $1 haul and omg so tasty!!! 👍🏽👍🏽 And we bought the quiche yesterday, can’t wait to try it! Love all your videos thank you for always posting the goodies!!!

Cook the kimchi in a pan and add your TJs frozen fried rice! It’s good for your gut!
Tim's on the right track! I'm part Asian and I enjoy putting kimchi on top of stir fry or a rice bowl, it's good on ramen or Japanese curry too.
Make kimchi fried rice, bibimbap. This is a korean staple.
Mommy Tang’s favorite ♥️
I second the kimchi fried rice, also goes well with white rice and ramen.
Labne literally translates to plain yogurt! we usually add diced cucumber, mint and garlic and use it for dolma or as a side with rice
Hespe fam: I love your channel....you, Katie, Tim and Benson! Do NOT let negative comments get you down. If people can’t be constructive, they are not worth your time! Love you guys! 💜❤️

Tim’s correct about the kimchi! U can make a fried rice with stir fry, egg and kimchi with some sesame oil
Love these taste tests!!
Benson is ADORABLE!!! Hope you have more beautiful kids. Beautiful family and you do great videos. I love trader Joe's
I absolutely love Tim, that was a riot! I’m so glad you save me money.

Hahaha this is a good suggestion! I didn't even think about that but it's so true. You kind of have to eat it quickly.
I love kimchi and use it as a condiment. It’s great with any sort of stir fry, with eggs, rice bowls, just a few bites after dinner.

Bensons little “uhm excuse me”, soooo cute
Great job! Benson is adorable. I put the freeze dried fruit in my coffee grider and put it in pancakes with chunks and used the fruit dust on whipped cream on a sundae.
Little Benson is sleepy awwww cute !
I just eat kimchi plain out of the jar but my family says I’m weird 😂 they prefer it with white rice, in fried rice or in bibimbap. Oooooh and it’s really good on top of an impossible burger! That’s my sons newest obsession haha
I agree straight from the jar is great! Course I also love pickled herring...
I am with you LOVE it on its own
Sounds amazing on a burger!

Beginners kimchee: just add to ramen
Kimchi cheese quesadilla, kimchi bacon cheese fried rice for Tim, you can eat kimchi like a sauerkraut, also look up cucumber kimchi and that would be the same thing instead of cabbage, kimchi tofu fried rice, kimchi topped ramen, add water and broth for a kimchi stew. So funny seeing Bensons sour face from that trail mix fruit then his happy face when he got the chocolate chip! Too cute!🥰
I’ve been waiting for this haul taste test! New sub, I love it.

Benson is too cute!! 😆😆😆 Tim was too funny with the cheese! I always love his thoughts/commentary. You try to make kimchi fried rice! It’s delish! ❤️
You can stir fry it in Kimchi fried rice. It's also a very popular side dish to eat with anything like eggs or any protein of choice like tofu. I love kimchi. I like to have it as a side with potstickers, ramen, or stir fried rice. It's like spicy coleslaw.
Ok this is so off topic but how did you get the camera to move when you did the close up of the dried fruit?
You can use the kimchi on rice and Buddha bowls, and stir fry. 😊
I eat kimchi all the time. Its a side dish but you can also put it in tofu soup, eggs, rice, tuna...enhanced with a tiny bit of sugar. Eventually you get hooked on it.
Freez dried berries are great add-in to rice crispy treats
I used to make an onion dip with labneh, cream cheese, carmelized onions, shallots and I think there was another onion. It was delicious as a dip or on a baked potato.
Kim chee is side dish or you can add it when you make fried rice.
I put kimchi on stir frys and I also use as a topper on salad.
I like it. It’s kind of a condiment with every Korean food.
I think the freeze dried fruit would taste really good and cereal. As an added bonus
Kimchi fried rice, or kimchi with brown rice and tofu. I also love it for breakfast mixed with my scrambled eggs
I eat kimchi in every meal, I squeeze out extra liqluid in my palm and added to my spring mix salad to add more texture and veggies, sometimes it is flavored enough I dont need extra dressing
Use the pineapple bbq sauce from the last haul to marinate either flank steak or firm tofu. Top it with kimchi to make fusion tacos. :)
I grew up on kimchi so love it. You can cook it but we usually eat it as is with rice. For you, I suggest eating it with spaghetti (red sauce) or lasagna. Not mixed in but on the side. Hi, Love your videos.
I love FRESH kimchi. But once it's opened, I will have it within 3 - 4 days. I won't touch it after that because the smell gets really strong. 😁 It's a great probiotic. I love to have it with white rice.
Kimchi is great as a raw sidedish for any mild flavored meat and rice on the side.
