Thank you for all the effort you put into shopping for the new and seasonal items and for always giving us the nutritional information. The honest feedback on the new items from you and Tim is very much appreciated! Enjoy your camping trip!
Hi. I'm from the UK and due to a medical condition I'm home bound due to the virus. I just discovered your channel. I love it. You are so upbeat and sweet. Your family is adorable.
tomato jam + feta cheese + caramelized onions + phyllo dough..... or tomato jam + mascarpone cheese on garlic rubbed toasted pieces of baguette or semolina bread. Now anxiously awaiting TJ Pumpkin time !!!
Hi Hespe family! Looking forward to trying those pastas! Had to tell you I stopped by TJ Tuesday which happened to be my birthday and when checking out the crew member asked how my day was. When I told him it was my bday he gave me some flowers. So sweet! Those type of things are why I love TJ! You work for a great company!
Was just at Trader Joe’s this evening and found the frozen Vegetable Melange in butter sauce is back! So excited! This is my favorite thing to add to the Marsala sauce to make butter chicken or paneer over rice.
Tim devouring the soup while you talked about the tomato spread was priceless! I always wait to see your hauls before going to TJs - so many great new finds! Have a wonderful family camping trip!
Great TJ haul and I was looking forward to the tomato spread and didnt expect it to be sweet, well I wont be going to purchase it. I wish they had someone at TJ doing a taste test on that product.
To thicken the whole container of soup, you get a tiny bit of it COLD and place the rest in a pot and start to warm it. Stir in like... let’s say at least 1 ½ tablespoons of cornstarch, arrow root powder or white flour in the little bit you reserved or you could do it with a bit of broth, stock, or water. Add it to the pot, stir to combine and bring to a boil and voila!
Thanks Katie! I had a feeling the tomato jam would be toooo sweet! Tomatoes 🍎 are sweet enough without all the added sugar...bummer! The packaging is so cute! Have fun camping!🏕
Same. It has 12g of sugar and no sodium so I expected super sweet and no savory, especially since it’s been boiled down in jam form. Not a product for me but I like the idea of some savory tomato jam on biscuits! Might have to find a recipe!
Didn’t see the pastas when I was there this morning. After watching this gotta go back tomorrow and see if I can get my hands on them. Thanks 😃 have fun camping!
Aww, summers almost over. Tjs had so many great new tastes. The tomato jam would go wonderful on a cheese platter. Love the jar. Let me know how you like the peachy wine. Sounds amazing 😉 Thank you Katie and Tim. Enjoy your camping trip. Love your fruit tops 💕 😇 wish I was going lol 🤣
so wonderful to see the new items and the taste test! All those pastas look so good, I usually get the fettuccine alfredo in the frozen section but I'm always open to trying new things. I have to watch my sodium intake but that suit definitely looks good I'm a big fan of that soup. Big hugs for you!
I came back to comment on the tomato jam. So as a good Portuguese person I was absolutely obsessed with the tomato spread. Terrible marketing because in Portugal it is a jam we use spread on bread for breakfast. Never with meats, like it says on the package. So I went back and snatched the last 4 at my Trader Joe’s. Gave one to my friend and just then realized it is product of Portugal. DUH!!!! Only 4 ingredients, no weird spices like clove and what not that I have seen people put in their tomato jam. No wonder I was obsessed with this and it tasted like my childhood!!! So funny!!!
Good review. Tim sold me on the pastas and you both on the broccoli soup. The tomato jam I would try for a cheese board or over a block of cream cheese for a dip for crackers. Maybe use on a ricotta and pickled artichoke hearts on puff pastry with some salty feta cheese...Great job. Have fun camping.
I'm going to Trader Joe's tomorrow or Saturday and hopefully i can find the pasta's and the soup. Thanks for sharing and i also miss seeing Benson. Have a wonderful evening and weekend.
Always look forward to these videos. I wonder if that tomato spread would be good on grilled cheese. Katie, do you have any idea when the sparkling watermelon/strawberry drinks will be going away?
I love the Golden Pineapple Kombuca, shouldn't be drinking it since I'm still nursing twice a day. However, it is super easy to drink and its the perfect balance of tart and sweet.
Ya I felt the same way! I’m super disappointed but I guess more for Tim 😂 The broc cheese soup is amazing. I’m making baked potatoes tonight and pouring the soup on top 🤤
Hi Katie! I really want to try the salad kit but I hate cilantro, is the cilantro mixed in or is it in separate packets like in the other salad kits when they separate the toppings?
Katie I really enjoyed your under $1 video and thought of a video idea similar to that while watching this. What if you grabbed your top 5 items in different price categories? Maybe those could be under $1, $1-5 and $5-10. Just a thought!
Alisha Kitchen - it’s not bad for you, but as it’s an animal product (enzymes produced in the stomach of ruminants - sorry if that’s too much info...), many vegetarians won’t eat products containing it. There are now vegetarian alternatives available. Rennet is used as part of the cheese-making process to thicken the milk into curds.
Which Trader Joe’s location do you shop at? Always so excited watching your videos but sometimes the items are not available at my local store yet, or sold out because it’s just that good!
I wonder if the tomato spread is like sun dried tomato ones? Would be great baked in a mini phyllo cup with goat cheese and basil. BTW: I LOVE TJ's blue cheese mustard and learned it is a seasonal item. Is it a Fall item and will it be back this year? Love your videos!
I love the sparkling watermelon drink but I've never been able to try the peach one as it's always out! :( What is animal rennet and are you allergic to it? I'm new to this channel and I'm gathering you're vegetarian but not vegan? Trader Joe's is known for clean ingredients so I'm curious as to why it's in there if it is a bad ingredient.
Animal rennet are enzymes extracted from the stomach of animals. So it’s not a vegetarian or vegan ingredient. Personally, I wouldn’t say that TJ’s is known for using clean ingredients. Yes, they are known for having higher quality products than a typical grocery store, but - and again, this is simply my opinion - you can only be assure clean ingredients if you’re buying whole foods. TJ’s still uses synthetic ingredients such as “natural flavors” in many of their products and a significant portion of their products are highly processed foods.
Or do what I do, I mix a couple ounces of kombucha with soda water (from my soda stream). I find straight kombucha is too sweet and this waters it down a bit and makes the bottle stretch a little longer. 😋
Katie: There are yellow onions, sweet yellow onions (like Videlia), and white onions are more tender and can be more sharp or sweeter and cleaner in flavor than yellow (depends on the variety and how they are grown) but don't store quite as well as yellow onions do. Sadly, I had to stop buying fruits & vegetables at Trader Joe’s. They are rotten within 2 days of purchase. I love TJs, but am always so disappointed at the waste of produce.
That’s such a bummer. I wonder if it’s the region that you’re located in...sometimes when produce travels a long distance with how hot it’s been produce goes bad faster. Sorry that’s been happening to you though, I hate wasting food too. My garden has come in clutch this year 😀

I understand you’re trying to avoid animal rennet in cheeses, but what you may not realize is that almost all plants and grains are being fertilized with animal manure, bone meal, blood meal, fish fertilizers, chicken feather meal, etc. It’s almost impossible to avoid using animal products or byproducts in the healthy growth cycle of the soil, unless, of course, you grow everything yourself with compost only. Plants thrive on the nutrients derived from these fertilizers and crop yield and quality of future seed offspring suffers if that is eliminated.
@@enneirda07My point is that there are very few cruelty free plant sources if you get down to the facts of how mass scale agriculture is grown and harvested. Most people don’t know about this or the effects of monoculture. Diet is, of course, a personal choice. I do 100% agree that animal rennet should be avoided/boycotted as it’s unnecessary when other kinder options are available.
Katie, you react like people who have allergy do when they can't have dairy or soy. lol 😆 Or any other ingredient. It differently sucks for the person who can't have the product.
Katie, your face while Tim was trying the pastas 🤣🤣. Love you all. Have fun camping.
I was smiling at your expressions!
I thought the same thing.... Like she wanted to mumble "...... Dang rennet!!"
I was dying 😂

I thought she looked completely ticked off...

Thank you Mary!
I was thinking the tomato jam could be used as a glaze for meatloaf or meatballs - turkey or beef or the vegan alternative ones.

I barely ever shop at Trader Joe’s- not near enough to my home. But I look forward to your videos- you and Tim and Lil Benson warm my heart. Much ❤️
Awe thank you ❤️
I definitely want to try the 2nd pasta! 😋 and the broccoli cheddar soup too
Try the tomato jam on a sandwich with bacon and goat cheese! Or pimiento cheese.

Catherine Calhoun When I run out of sour cream, I put cream cheese in my baked potato.
Ok being a big pasta lover Tim sold me on those pastas

Peachy canyon! That’s a Paso Robles wine. Just a few minutes from my house and it’s an adorable vineyard and tasting room to match the name. 😊
Sweet onions don’t make me cry like the others 😀
The tomato jam would be really good on a grilled cheese using the shredded unexpected cheddar on sour dough with bacon
Always enjoy your videos. Love Tim's expressions when he's test tasting!
Thanks for your honest review in the tomato jam! Nice haul! Love watching you & Tim team up for the taste tests!
hey katie - when does my harvest pasta sauce & pumpkin pasta come in?? i'm ready for fall!

The tomato spread has 3 tsp of sugar in each serving which is why it’s so sweet. 4 grams of sugar is equivalent to 1 tsp. of sugar.
Those matching fruit shirts are so cute btw!
And the way that you and tim smile at each other is so cute
Pasta on my list. Ty Tim.
