Big O, Aqua Teen, Brak Show, Sealab, & Inuyasha were the shows I watched in 2003 when I was jobless 5-03 to 12-03. Beautiful song. Fills me with such a beautiful nostalgia.
Playing Final Fantasy X for like the 3rd time and enjoying quality T.V., before the world got so harsh. Damn, you made me remember a bunch of stuff I'd forgotten.
This anime will always hold a special place in my heart. The first time I watched it I was at my grand parents house I would play my gameboy advance and watch cartoon network with my younger brother my grand parents lived in chicago which looks a lot like paradigm city. As soon as the credits would roll I'd know it was time for bed. To this day I associate big O with the time I spent with my grand parents.
Larry-three It did. Every episode aired on Toonami within the last year I believe. Do you remember how it ended? It doesn't lend itself to more than it delivered in a very bizarrely specific manner.
This anime inspired me to become an artist... Straight up. I will never forget it. I have published one full length comic already now and working on another. It took me years to get my ideas together but I wouldn't have got there without the inspiration from shows like this.
This song brings tears to my eyes because I'm just now getting back together with a woman that I've known since I was 6 years old and the song describes everything for me perfectly :) its a heartfelt song
My fiance and I are getting married in 2022 (due to COVID since we don't know how long this crap will last 😅) but I'm seriously leaning towards walking down the aisle to this beautiful song. We are both huge fans of anime and our wedding is gonna be anime references ❤️
My fiancé and i are getting married in 2022 as well and this song is going to be our first dance. We both love anime as well! I think it would be perfect for you guys!!
this is the type of song you would expect to hear at weddings and such, it should've been an international hit. The fact that they used it as an ending theme for an obscure mecha anime series really doesn't do it justice
The days of trying to stay awake to watch adult swim only to fall asleep and waking up to this and having to get ready for school.... Right in the childhood.
I'm honestly tearing up after listening to this. It strikes such a chord with me. The incredible singers, the wonderful piano playing (R. Instro, perhaps?), and the well-crafted lyrics all come together so beautifully. One day, I hope to play this song for someone special, someone to be together with, now and forever.
Very sublime. - at the end of the cartoon network we see many "Roger" pilots, and megadeuce, and we at last understand the entire history was a simulation. Dorothy was a component, and took the form of a mechanism. - Roger was also a mechanism. The tomatoes represented human souls which were being cultured and matured within an artificial frame work. - Were there any "real" human beings in the story at all? - Probably the greatest anime sonnet of all time!
There were real souls, they were all real, I think the moral of the show is that through Rogers ideology of moving on from the past and creating memories, he truly became human, even without memories or a true recollection of who he was, he acted human, therefore he was human
Rather than a simulation, I've seen people explain that the show was actually a tv show that Angle was a writer for. So, a tv show inside a tv show. Wierd right?
My husband was 30 when we first met. 31 when we started dating. Married at 34. He will be 36 next month and we are expecting our first baby early next year. It will happen to you. It takes a lot of people awhile to figure out what they want.
Wow, I wrote that 9 years ago. I unfortunately suffered a miscarriage and then 3 more over the years. We have not been able to have our own child and have since stopped trying since I was diagnosed with permanent vision loss and the treatments to save what vision I have left are dangerous for an unborn baby. We are now pursuing adoption with the hope that we will have a baby in the summer. I am now 37 and Hubby is 45.
One of the top three anime ending songs, really brings back late night memories of watching anime with my kids.. was just talking about this song in Gamestop over the weekend
When I get married, I want this to play at the reception as I dance with my wife, tenderly holding each other in our arms. Either that or when I finally get my own copy of the show on blu-ray. Edit: I can't believe it too me this long, BUT I ACTUALLY GOT IT ON DVD A COUPLE YEARS AGO! Still single though. Edit 2: Still single, but I still got my dvd's, and you know? It doesn't matter when I get married. I have plenty of happy memories of my life and this show to keep me going in the meantime until the time to make those kind of memories comes. (And yes, I had to talk about"memories" because this IS a Big O song. So there. HA! >:)
I always assumed it was a song between Roger and Angel, and that Dorothy is the representation of their longing for one another. Dorothy longs to be with Roger, like Angel, but Roger Smith (despite wanting the exact same thing) fears geting close because he is afraid that the love he feels for Angel is artificial.
When I was 8 years old, staying up way later than I should have to watch shows like Big O, I really couldn't appreciate music like this. I liked the more bombastic pieces, like Stoning or Sure Promise. Now though, not only do I have the taste for this, but mixed with my nostalgia for the show... I'm in heaven.
Still really pissed me off when Adult Swim decided to speed up the credits at the end and skip just about the damn full song. Thank god RUclips is good for something after all.
This anime is the reason why black became my favorite color. I have many fond memories of Roger Smith and R. Dorothy Wayne-Wright. From when I was a wee lass to now they're still my favorite couple. This song means so much to me.
I loved it too! The problem is you have to watch the series about two or three times carefully before you get it. But once you get it, it all makes sense!
This song makes me sad just like every other ballad partially because it just reminds me that I have been single all of my life and partly because it's just really touching that it hurts.
I totally agree with u, Traumateam81! It's hard to believe such beautiful songs & music was for a weekly animation.....which is better than some motion picture scores.

Such a bittersweet tune, and I love it. Who else fondly remembers this show running on Toonami?
