This is one of the channels that gave me the courage to start my RUclips channel 9 months ago about self development. Now I have 1,7444 subs and > 1k hours of watch time. I know it’s not comparable with others but I’m still proud I started because I’ve been learning so many lessons that I could haven’t learned without getting started in the 1st place.

really been enjoying your videos. Framework Thinking, Zettlekasten... I have been reading a lot, and jotting a lot down. But Trying to collect it to where I can connect it is where I have been stuck at. We all process things differently, but one thing I am trying to work on is keeping notes simple. Converting things into my own Words has been kind of a struggle, because the notes i have taken are just written so well. My rant for the afternoon. Love the Content.

I feel you on beautifully written phrases that I want to keep - and I do. I'll have to do an updated video on smart notes!

    At time: 00:00
    What:
Set systems, not just goals: Focus on developing a system of habits and behaviors that will lead to your desired outcomes, rather than just fixating on the end result.
Dream big: Allow yourself to dream and aim for something that may seem unrealistic, as it can be just as much effort to achieve something small as something big.
Focus on who you want to be: Concentrate on the type of person you want to become, as it can be more important than the specific goals you want to achieve.
Reassess regularly: Regularly review and adjust your goals and systems to ensure they align with your current values, beliefs, and priorities.
    How:
Use the three-step NT goal-setting process: Dream big, start small, and reassess regularly. Write down what you want to achieve in your life, think about the person you want to become to achieve those dreams, and then focus on developing habits and behaviors that align with that ideal self.
Create a template: Develop a template to help you write down your dreams and ideal self, so you can easily refer back to it and make adjustments as needed.
Identify the five categories for your ideal self: Consider your health, time, money, relationships, and growth, and think about what your ideal self looks like in each of these areas.
Prioritize time for creativity: Schedule time to create and think, as this can help fuel your growth and progress towards your goals.
Stay flexible: Remember to reassess and adjust your goals and systems regularly, as your priorities and circumstances may change over time. Stay open to new possibilities and opportunities that align with your values and beliefs.
    At time: 04:33
    What:
Authenticity - creating content that is true to oneself
Self-assessment - regularly evaluating where one stands in different areas of life
Starting small - breaking down big goals into small, actionable tasks
Smart tasks - creating tasks that are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound
    How:
Three plus one system - identifying three things to stop doing, three things to continue doing, and one big change to make
Applying smart tasks to the three-part system - ensuring that the tasks are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound
Regularly checking progress - ensuring that the tasks are being completed and adjusting them as necessary
    At time: 10:00
    What:
Set SMART goals: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound.
Replace bad habits with good habits.
    Regularly assess progress towards goals.
Make changes and adjustments as necessary.
    How:
Use a three plus one system to identify goals and habits to develop.
Stack habits by doing them consistently and adding new ones on top.
Use a daily tracking template to monitor progress.
Ask three questions at the end of each month to assess what's energizing, draining, and important.
Recalibrate goals and habits regularly based on progress and changes in life circumstances.
    At time: 14:34
    What:
Embrace change: Recognize that your priorities and dreams can evolve over time and allow yourself space to recalibrate.
Reflect regularly: Conduct a personal annual review to understand the direction of the next year.
Replicate the highlights: Identify the things that brought you joy and success in the past year and find ways to replicate them in the future.
Remove the lowlights: Reflect on the challenges and disappointments of the past year and find ways to avoid or mitigate them in the future.
Be honest with yourself: Acknowledge the decisions you made out of fear and assess their impact on your life.
Embrace growth: Be open to changing your mind and evolving as a person.
    How:
Ask yourself six questions at the end of each year to assess your progress and plan for the future.
Identify the highlights and lowlights of the past year and determine how to replicate or avoid them.
Reflect on the decisions made out of fear and assess their consequences to develop a better decision-making process in the future.
Document your learnings from the past year and use them to inform future decisions.
Use a decision journal to track your decision-making process throughout the year.
Embrace change and be open to evolving as a person.

You are really good at this and I think you can impact many through your unique style of educating. In the language of my own belief system, I pray for you the gift of discernment to understand how to best use this gift.

I like this Life Design 2023 worksheet and having you provide a walk-through as an example. I'm going to use this today (2022.12.31) and get started on my 2023 Life Design plans as the past few years I've pretty much meandered through without a plan or strategy. I think one of my favourite points from James Clear is how he mentioned that our daily habits are like a vote for the person we want to be, whether the habit is good or bad. Thanks for sharing and here's to a most excellent 2023!

As always very interesting: mix of theory, quotations and above all several actionable tools 😊
    Three comments :
    - A few additional quotes :
« You do not rise to the level of your goals . You fall to the level of your systems » (Atomic Habits: An Easy and Proven Way to Build Good Habits and Break Bad Ones par [Clear, James])… so many James Clear quotes in your video…one more can’t hurt… 😉
« Purposes are deduced from behavior , not from rhetoric or stated goals . » (Thinking in Systems: A Primer par [Donella H. Meadows, Diana Wright])
« By definition , objectives are significant , concrete , action oriented , and ( ideally ) inspirational . » (Measure What Matters par [John Doerr])
    - Thoughts : steps suggested (change, continue, finish…) reminded me of the decision process explained by Nancy Duarte in “DataStory: Explain Data and Inspire Action Through Story” (“The verbs associated with data have three distinct modalities : Change - We need to change who we are or what we are doing / Continue - We need to keep going in the same direction / Finish - We need to complete this .”)
    - I discovered the SMARTER goals acronym suggested by Michael Hyatt (“Your Best Year Ever: A 5-Step Plan for Achieving Your Most Important Goals”) : Specific, Measurable, Actionable, Risky, Time-Keyed, Exciting and Relevant.
Thank you so much ! Happy new year 2023 ! 😊

I appreciate the organization of the thoughts.
Question: When looking at the 5 Categories across all 3 Steps, ... Those are all within the context of the Big Dream, ... Did I get that right?
So if you have multiple Big Dreams / Goals then would have multiple instances of the sheet. Is that right?

As to what else is on my mind... I'm intrigued by Obsidian but I'm not succeeding with it. I followed your guidelines and created vaults, used lots of idea inputting, generating and connecting and then lost almost everything, twice. I would benefit so much within a small group of systems thinkers who might share setup support. I need to be certain I can explore Obsidian with minimal risk of losing my work. Maybe a course or another RUclips video from you around that? Love your enthusiasm and love your channel!

Vicky's goal-setting process emphasizes the importance of focusing on the process rather than just the outcome. He argues that successful people focus on systems and long-term perspectives rather than short-term wins and losses. To do this, she suggests a three-step goal-setting process: Dream Big, Start Small, and Reassesses Regularly.
The first step, Dream Big, encourages people to set ambitious goals without limiting themselves to what is "realistic." Vicky suggests that it takes the same effort to accomplish something big as it does something small, so people should be open to themselves. He also emphasizes the importance of focusing on who you want to become rather than just the outcome you want to achieve, as your habits will follow suit.
The second step, Start Small, is about taking small, manageable steps toward achieving your big dream. It is about building habits and becoming the type of person who can achieve your goals. Vicky also mentions the importance of stacking habits and replacing bad habits with good habits.
The third step, Reassess Regularly, is about checking in on your progress and adjusting your goals and habits as needed. Vicky suggests daily, monthly, and annual check-ins to ensure progress is being made and goals are still relevant. She also introduces the idea of a "plus one" step: trying something new or different to keep the goal-setting process exciting. This step involves breaking out of your comfort zone and experimenting with different things.
Overall, Vicky encourages people to focus on the process, set ambitious goals, and consistently reassess and adjust their goals and habits to achieve long-term success. He also encourages people to be open to change and try new things to keep the goal-setting process exciting.
