Jeff Jeff if I'm not mistaken when the follows 4 count is a forward 4 it will be a 8 count step. if the count 4 is backwards it will be a 6 count step.
This is a pretty good basic teaching video for beginners but I wish you would have spoken a little bit about the connection in the arms and the hands. The position where the follower hast to keep that connection with there left arm.

I'm curious as to what would prevent the follow from thinking they are being led into six-count swing.
