  • Commotio cordis is a rare cause of cardiac arrest that is induced by a blow to the chest in a precise spot at exactly the wrong time in the heartbeat. The only treatment is to restore the heartbeat as soon as possible by using CPR and an automated external defibrillator (AED.)
