Another great video Phil, I don't have a sherpa, but would be interesting to see if adjusting the shock springs up or down on the dr8 (which is easy as they are external), will make a useful or noticeable difference to handling. Btw, lights do look better now and thanks for not blinding me with them!!!
@@danielmarsh8045 I didn't, the blue and orange ones have clear windows, the grey and green are frosted. Or at least that's how they used to be, not sure now as they've changed a few things on the newer ones. I've seen people use all sorts (including Lynx deodorant, which makes you wonder what it's doing to your armpits 😣) but a non-acetone nail polish remover or proper Tamiya paint remover are probably the safest options.
Hi what wheels and tyres are you using please, love your tips and tricks it's good to hear from English speaking people easier to understand you. I have the matt olive green truck the only mods I have done so far is change the esc to a 1080 and greased the shit out of it now. I have had a problem with the wheel hexes with the grub screw rounding out I did use a new 2.0 drive and it seems the grub screw appears to be slightly bigger than 2.0 it's not a 2.5 as that didn't fit but I didn't need to take it out so I have left it in I did try to get it out with easy outs but that didn't work, going to get some new parts then drill the old one out later
Hi James, I'm really glad that you are enjoying the videos. More to come! The wheels are AXSpeed ones from Amazon (link now in the video description) and the tyres are ProLine Flat Iron XL G8. Spotted your post about the rounded out hex pin, total pain! Hope you manage to get it sorted, but I think you are right and drill might be the only option. If you have a hot air gun (maybe a hair dryer) you could try carefully applying some heat then using the easy out bits? Maybe the locktite in there is too strong, but heat should help. Good luck! 🤞
Brilliant content Phil. Mine coming Tuesday. Glad I watched this now. Iv subbed you 234 an rang bell bro see you on the otherside my friend 👍 keeping a eye on ur channel now for more info. Great vlog brother 👍 🇬🇧 😀 👍
It's certainly better than stock, but they are still not fantastic. It's worth doing if you don't want to spend money on new shocks. I've since replaced mine with Yeah Racing Desert Lizards, and they are a massive improvement.
Thank you. In this video the tyres are Pro-Line Flat Iron XL in the G8 compound. I didn't leave them on the Sherpa for very long, but now they are on my GateKeeper and are working very well. 🤙
That's a tough one for me as I've never owned either of the others. I know of quite a few people who have a Sherpa and one/both of the others and they all say that they are very close in terms of quality with the Sherpa being as capable, if not more, than the trx4. The trx4 sport may be my next build series though 😜 🤙
I run 1.9 wheels and tyres, but there are people who have run 2.2 wheels with 1.9 tyres stretched over them. Not sure I see the point in that. I think 2.2 tyres would be too big.
I'm not sure what oil was in it, but I used 350cst (30wt) as suggested by Mark. It only takes a few ml. I've put a link in the description to the one I used, I reckon I could refill them another 5 times from the same bottle.
Hi Phil, i`m also memeber of the fb group and found your videos by that, and abonated your channel. The shock upgrade i am going to do. Got the question with your wheels, i could see the brass portal weights right? Did you get them from the also FB memebr André Ratsch....? I ask cause i wanna order also wheels and want to know at which inner diameter i have to watch so the will fit without any extension, wider stand! Thanks in advance for your help
Hi Alex, the wheel weights are the Yikong ones, which are the same as the Absima weights. They rubbed very slightly so I filed the down a little with a Dremel tool. The wheels I use are from Amazon and are by AXspeed.
How come my cr3.4 sherpa does not have the black door hinges every other one ive seen does ? Weird and i dunno if this is a new thing but it also came with the new type axle joins so i dont lose any pins and it was bought brand new stock ?
I think they've done a few updates, I assume you've bought it recently? They seem to have gone with moulded "hinges" rather than hard plastic. But the upgraded drive shafts will be a plus for sure. 🤙
Great content mate. I have no idea about any of this stuff but still watched the whole thing 👍
Thanks dude!
Action shots at the end were awesome 👍🏻
Thanks dude. William is my new official cameraman.

Thanks David, I have to say I am looking forward to chasing those DR8s with a mini quad, maybe even the cinewhoop.
Nice..
I just switched to thinner shock oil..so did not need the hole in the piston.
But good video and nice mods.
Nice one. I ended up changing the shocks as I was still not happy with the oem ones.
Very well produced video mate. Nice one. 👊👍
Thanks Rich. 🤙
cool vid! congrats for the views number! big like! 👍
Thank you! This one has been very popular, but then who doesn't like free upgrades? 🤙
Great video Phil! Really helpfull.

@@PhilBrindley hi Phil loving your vid all very useful and informative. I was wondering how you defrost the windows on your absima?

I enjoyed the video. Where did you get the air ducts on your car bonnet?
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it. The vents are 3d printed, I got the file from thingiverse.
