  • I interview Beth Ballhaussen, co-owner (with her husband Peter) of Town Hardware & General Store in Black Mountain, NC. This is a true to form old time hardware store that's been a popular tourist destination for decades in Black Mountain. It's also a real, working hardware store with seasoned and capable employees who have great experience in home improvement, gardening, tool repair and much more. I love visiting this store every time I go to Black Mountain. Enjoy the video (shot in 4K with my new Sony FDR AX33 camcorder) - and be sure to visit Town Hardware when you come to the Asheville area! Here's their website: www.townhardware.com

Appreciate that comment Steve. You're right - they are going away. I really appreciate it that these folks kept all their experienced staff, and chose to keep the place a legit hardware store - not just a tourist spot. Thanks for watching!

I am starting to really like that Sony
. Question @ 4:35, how did you go from wide shot to close up that quick with only 1 camera ?

The really wide shot with Beth is from a GoPro Hero4 Black Edition. I had it mounted on top of my new Sony AX33. I was recording both angles at once, and just switched tracks in Adobe Premier Pro CC. Yes that Sony is a great camcorder. I'm loving it so far.

    Tony,
What were you capturing all of the audio with for this video. I'm suspecting an external microphone maybe and if so did you have her wired with a mic?

all audio in this video was captured with the Sony camcorder. six feet away from her I was about six feet away from her too.

I'm surprised then that the audio was so clear. Will be interesting to hear some audio with an outside interview. Have you tried any of the WiFi features yet?
