I loved hearing the history and see the upstairs. Love hearing the squeaky floors, my high school had squeaky floors. My grandmother, mother, myself and sons all went to that school but unfortunately it is scheduled to be torn down soon. Love your history and that you are carrying on traditions too.

Why on earth would they stop selling feed etc. The area from what I researched still has a large farming community and rural homesteads with lots of animals. They’d make more income from supplying them than just catering to tourists.

Now this is what I am talking about.
It’s like stepping back in time to my childhood memories.
The store is place that I could spend hours in looking from top to bottom shelves.
I know there’s plenty items I would want.
We went to the store in Waynesville and enjoyed the barrels of candy and I remember getting clothing, gadgets, toys, and so much more.
Enjoy these old time treasures that still bring the people into their doors.
Can’t imagine how much attention is paid to the customers.
Try getting anybody to help you in the big box change is a challenge and items are replaced elsewhere from your last visit.

Thank you so much for hi-lighting East Tennessee. My wife and I have watched two of your video’s; Dandridge and this one on the Mast General Store. I am from western PA but went to Carson-Newman College (at that time) where I met my bride who is from Greeneville TN. We often would stop at the Mast General Store on our trips from our home in eastern NC to visit family. One of the memories of our boys was a casket that was on display in what is now the Christmas Shop section. Thank you again and keep up the videoing of beautiful and historic Tennessee.
