    Add to that the fact even to this day you still can't buy a scar barrel that fits the stock barrels, and you have a recipe for inaccuracy. Seems to be hit or miss even with one. Mine seems very good though.

      mine to i use the built in sting scar and to be honest standing back nailing a tree at 40 to 50 feet i hit it square every time. only if the dart breaks once n awhile will it come out funny. i think walcom does indeed have the early model not the A2 so i know those had more issues. since i got my blue one with using co2 stock i wouldnt use anything else. and i have a swift and ceda and 2 primes, modded nexus, mk 1.1, mk 1.2, aeon pro, stryker and so on. and out of all those my milsig rips for me. so thats really unfortunate he's having those problems. i love mine to death.

    That expiration date is probably just when the tank needs a "hydro test" Basically just a pressure test and then it's good for another few years. Most places that fill them can probably do it, or point you to somewhere that can.

  • @Nickrarri
    @Nickrarri Год назад +39

    The reason for the system being so inaccurate is because the pressures this cycles at are meant for paintballs and nerf dart’s can’t handle them. Thats the fundamental issue. No real engineering thought went into it and ended up being a flop cash grab. No amount of barrel tweaking will fix that fundamental pressure issue.
    The only thing that came close to helping was shooting EPP darts. The stiffness seemed to reduce the variance to “only” a 50fps range and didn’t cycle with any consistency below 300fps.

    • @watchm4ker
      @watchm4ker Год назад +1

      @@r46-b7eAt a guess, you'd need a two-stage system: Primary tank feeds a "firing chamber", keeping it at a lower, regulated pressure, and that chamber is what fires the darts.

    • @r46-b7e
      @r46-b7e Год назад

      @@watchm4ker thanks for the reply, but that's how every HPA nerf blaster runs. HPA tanks are far too high pressure. You need to use some sort of step down regulator to fill a reservoir for each shot. I fire my HPA blasters around 100 psi give or take. Standard HPA tanks put out around 800 usually. That would vaporize a dart.

    I always love the unbiassed review! Milsig has a so so reputation in the paintball scene, when they work they work great but when they go down it’s the end of your day playing. You tank is good for 15 years, but it needs to be hydro tested every 5 years from the manufacturing date.

  • @MGlBlaze
    @MGlBlaze Год назад +3

    My best guess is that the Milsig was sending out too much air to each shot, and the muzzle blast kept knocking the darts off course randomly even WITH a SCAR barrel which is supposed to eliminate that. But that's a complete shot in the dark on my part.
    Shame you had so many problems with it considering how those things look like beautiful pieces of kit.

  • @joshua5483

    Overall I believe the Milsig platform has a bright future but as it stands, it needs some tweaks to get to the game breaking level it could reach. For the amount of money you’re paying, the hassle of running/maintaining a setup like this, and the company not giving clear answers on the truth, I feel like these won’t be selling out anytime soon. For all intensive purposes a high output fly wheeler will Have the same results at a quarter of the price. It’s a real shame since the entire blaster seems to be of quality construction. I feel HPA has a future in our community but clearly it just isn’t quite there yet.

    I'm paintballer and used nerf gun maby 2 times in my life. That said:
    1. If your darts are harmed after shot then bolt is harming your foam rounds. Maby its fixable idk.
    2. Cut the nerf barrel down to 4" and then go and find tube that you can put on the barrel. Make it atleast 14". It can be plastic too. Now you have created 4" accelration and 10" stabilation.
    Use rest of that barrel to make perfect tool to cut your nerf rounds dead straight. Even small slope at the end of the dart round will make it go sideways with hpa.

    Honestly it seems like something that's overbuilt and undertuned for the hobby. Part of what makes foam projectile blasters fun is the limitations and tradeoffs and this not only overcomplicates it but if it managed to actually work would then end up playing like a different sport. Simply put, dart tag's not paintball and if I wanted to play paintball or airsoft I'd play paintball or airsoft.

      I think the point of HPA in Nerf is to have more diversity, play style, and possibilities. It's a reach to suggest that one hobby will rule out the other. The Nerf hobby has been progressing steadily when considering the impact companies like dart zone and other self sustained creators have made. It's not going anywhere anytime soon even if HPA was easily adaptable. It would help contribute ideas to intrigued hobbyists allowing for whatever possibilities. I would like one of these blasters if they worked but I'd personally stick to nerf because I prefer it and it would be overkill if I used this all the time and not a good investment if i didn't use it enough, it would be redundant. I would also like to try airsoft and paintball but personally the entry points for those are quite expensive, then again that doesn't mean I'll never try it. Nerf is still a good entry into the milsig scene even if you did want to get into airsoft or paintball because it's the same thing but cheap with some mild limitations and is also more youth friendly.

    Thank u for this video. Since I have little contact with hpa, this shines a new light for me. I participate in online hvz and we use 4" targets at 16 ft for average accuracy and 2" targets for higher difficulty accuracy shots. That is terrible for 10 ft indoors. Rival is more accurate than that with a simple hop up tab. I have also used a Banned Blasters setup and the accuracy is quite surprising from a flywheeler. Anyway, thanks for this long awaited review of an unreleased review.

    Unlike another RUclips video guy who will remain unnamed but came out completely biased against HPA in his review, I appreciate the honesty of your video. I own a MILSIG and have used mine several times in outside woods and parking lot games. I have really not had any major issues with mine. The last game it started being finicky but found out later that it needed to be oiled and cleaned out due to high amount of dirt from the woods wars clogging the system. So, I actually have had some good experiences with it. Firing mine, I put mine on full auto but pull the trigger like its semi-auto which allows for faster shots without full auto mag dumping. Accuracy has been actually pretty good too for some reason. I have a sniper scope and bipod on mine and I was able to hit a player with a well aimed shot from quite a distance away. I find that if you under power your blaster it will not work. It needs to be tuned up to fire at a higher FPS, which is why I use it only at outdoor open terrain events. It think at lower pressures you are going to have inaccuracies and worse jams like crazy. I don't know maybe I'm just lucky or I got one that wasn't a lemon.

They used then in the high power games that weekend and didn't seem to have any issues. A few of my team bought milsigs from them as far as I'm aware don't have any complaints about them. But yeah HPA isn't over powered. I've had a game where I took on two guys with supercore blasters, I had a modded Retaliator hitting about 180fps and I managed to take them both down. I'm glad you got around to it. I was already skeptical about this product, since I don't really believe HPA has a place in competition Nerf, given the higher cost, the high FPS and the extra stuff you need to run it properly. We're not airsoft, and we're not paintball, those games great fun in and of themselves and are available for those who want them, but it's not Nerf. We're an accessible, low entry cost, more for fun than for competition game, and we should try to keep it that way. In a way, it's this thing's inaccuracy that is it's saving grace. If it were at all accurate, it would be game breaking, IMO. Strictly engineering wise, I get the appeal of marrying the range and precision of springers with the quick follow up shot capabilities of flywheelers, but I think that would actually create severe balancing issues regardless of the FPS cap.

    I can sympathize with the idea that the milsig could have been one of the best production blasters in the hobby simply if its actual production had continuity. There were a handful of other RUclipsrs who had theirs working perfectly and boy did they make it seem that way. Yet the overwhelming majority was quite contraire. It was clear that milsig wasn't doing whatever they needed to do to give the customers something that was worth 500+ dollars and a long waiting period. Seeing as it's been years and they primarily focus on other types of blasters I doubt that this side of the hobby will see progress. All we can do is hope that someone else does the same thing but actually care to be consistent and not only that but deliver with a more reasonable price and a better informed back order system but honestly a working blaster would just be enough.

    And that is why midst the 100 plus thousand of youtubers who do nerf blaster videos.... If nerf was a religion you would be a prophet of things to be argued instead of just preserving doctrine. IT is not the awesome footage of shopping, or hvz, or full wars to many of us watching your channel, but the tuff honesty that is given to us the consumers. Do not be hard on yourself. It is very difficult to be a person who is not just giving an opinion but also providing truth against so many who give an opinion but are lying to get more swag. With every video you make keep being honest and thorough testing the things out there we do and do not know of. Merry Christmas to you. If possible this month get a krampus and santa claus sometime on one of your videos before the 25th.

      Blaster shoots fine. He got an early model hence why it doesn’t work well like all the other early models. Its also a really quality built blaster and actually shoots as well as brads video shows in the A2 version that were since released.

    Looks like a paintball marker... HPA / CO2 is great in theory however these accuracy issues are concerning. It is not surprising that manufacturer / agent can not make accuracy claims (due to nature of derts) however this does appear to be an open bolt auto? I care not to research, will just assume that it is. The relatively negligible mass of an HPA or CO2 bolt means open bolt should be "ok" VS real steel open bolt autos (fun but accuracy beyond 50yds was never really a consideration).
    A properly designed HPA / CO2 blaster should leave something like a Caliburn in the dust. $400 for a modded paintball marker seems a bit of a piss take, especially if the accuracy is flywheel level awful.

    I would be too afraid of being shot by police or a concealed carry hero if I used that anywhere in public. With how much it looks like a kit AR15 and the arrests I've seen of people painting real guns to look like foam blasters, even if it worked perfectly I would hard pass on this, at least in my state.

    i think they're so bad is because of the low effort, if these really are just retooled paintball guns, they might not have any experience on how to make foam darts shoot really hard, and F*** barrel pressure over
