We do not recommend modifying the design of the intake. As we never tried to diminish the sound of our intake, we could not recommend a solution. A closed design intake would be more quiet.

Would there be anyway to quiet down the whine? Maybe wrapping it?

Some claim it is a leaky diverter valve. Replace with the "Go fast bits" diverter valve upgrade and it should go away.
