To make Gryphon gear sound thin and threadbare is an achievement in itself.
It's fake effect. It's the bare side walls. (and floor). Ignore it. Focus on the things it does unbelievably well. Beyond any competition.
System is amazing but sounds cold and a bit bright so need more room treatment for sure.

@jaysaudiolab Did the amp break? (Cap failed, etc). Bass is gone.
Likely a wiring or power problem. When speaker or amp dont have right power configuration it sounds like that .. weak with no bass @@wa2368
This is exactly how this song is recorded. I am playing this same song through my system (Memphisto, Pandora, MSB Select 2) and the sound character is similar. Play a well recording then the presentation is at a whole different level. This is typical behavior for a neutral system.
Tell the rest of the people here
This sounds 'Alive' . Good to hear something as it was recorded and not sung through a pair of rolled up socks for a microphone!
@@jaysaudiolab Hey, I know, got no need to be told!
You did a great job Jay! Just amazing work! @jaysaudiolab
In my experience you can have a system sound neutral or "right" but the main thing is does it pull you into the music. Is it engaging. You can have all the detail in the world or you can have a system sound so neutral that it becomes non engaging. I think the key is to get a system to have that detail but have the ability to also pull you into the music. Happy listening 😊
Ignore the haters Jay! Please keep cranking these out for us Audiophiles, I certainly appreciate it!
Thanks man
There not haters just sad twats!
Job well done, sounds amazing, looks good, most of all the customer is thrilled, keep up the good work, ignore the haters.
brutal
Sounda better with curtains closed but seriously needs some rugs or mats in front of the speakers to stop the floor reflection off that beautiful stained wooden floor
I agree. Side walls need drapes too.
@@fullranger3435just some treatment at the side reflection points, arguably the most important
Its like an intro sound from start to finish before the low end kicks in.
So you keep the McIntosh amp and sell him the Apex and Commander, does that means the McIntosh amp better than gryphon amps?
Nope but I love your narrative
@@jaysaudiolab If you consider the price the McIntosh amp is way better. I’ve had so many amps over the years and my current McIntosh SS amp is my favorite. Some of those amps cost considerably more than my McIntosh and just didn’t measure up.
Jay, that's a considerable investment in equipment. Will there be room treatments to follow? Thanks for the post.
Man, this is like an electrostat with base and guts!! This is exactly how a box loudspeaker should be, period!
😂Jays Audio System is so much better then his Friends Gryphon Commander + his Gryphon Apex system😊 his Friend Sound is very very Bright
Cool system you assembled Jay. Hope the client is enjoying it. Too bad about having to cover that view though.

☕️
Yes,this system has definitely put a spell on me 😵💫
No tubes no party!
90% of the sound is the room
A sound demo and artist listed, I might just re-subscribe. The room is quite lively. Acoustic treatment and a pair of subs are a must.
Dang... sooo good.
I like it, it sounds really clear. Seriously, it sounds really good. But is miss some of the lows I hear in the videos of your own rig.
The sound is to dry and mechanical in the higher frequency. And i miss the drive and punch in the low mids and bass. The speaker or the room or the whole combination sucks al the energy back in the speaker. It sounds backwards. It can sound so much better than this Jay.This time it's not my cup of thea. I'm Sorry😀
Full carpet, a sofa and some soft furnishings required.
Jay doesnt care.. he unloaded the gear on this sucker
Is Jay scared to audition BeoLab 90s?
UNBELIEVABLE clarity and detail retrieval and portrayal!!! Detailed, nuanced and precise in scaling the different sounds and sculpting the scene and imaging! Precise scaling with no impact on tonality, that sets the foundations of proper depth. Oh, I'd love to hear it playing some well recorded classical! People, BEHOLD the truth!!! Jay, I think, like so many other audiophiles, you like your soup salted man! You like your music a little bit coloured! Otherwise, you'd never let such truthfullness escape out of your lab. This is reference level, no less! (Body is JUST FINE! if that'll be your argument. Only a bigger one of the same genre, could ever beat this loudspeaker).
Sounds a bit thin thru my big rig. Imo, the big Esoteric digital front end would have tonally been the better choice here. Additionally imo, the new Soulution pre would be the better choice here altho the Commander is hardly chopped liver.
Is this acoustical treatment of the room complete to the owners preferences?
Customer is always right.
I meant a business doesn’t argue with a customer even if customer is wrong, unless don’t want business. But music is personal taste, so really customer wants is king. Obvs he’d get a better sound with room acoustics improved.
@DW11111 both
Not warmly, not gryphon like
Jay, Tricky video. As many have commented, sound isn’t the best on this video. I’m sure it sounds far better and different in the actual room than on RUclips. But hard to post a video on RUclips and then say at the same time that one can’t judge much from RUclips. A bit self-contradictory.
Listen to a "live concert"
Rainbow 🌈 "On Stage"
Where's the bass?
I admire your work Jay but this sounds thin and non emotional and there is no bass at all, what is going on here, further break in the system?
Same thing has been said about my system. It’s your phone or whatever you use to listen
@@jaysaudiolab Pardon moi!I use Sennheiser.
😢Very very upsad of Jays Friend Gryphon System😮
I don’t care how good the equipment is but no carpeting makes it sound awful. Thin, harsh, tinny and no bass.
Sounds cold and lifeless. Typical sterile, overly clean and boring modern HiFi sound. Yuck.
Please let me see your world class system.
you obviously have mental issues……
Jay, fuck these lifeless haters, your work is awesome! thank you for your time and efforts
Thanks man
It s not about hifi - its about selling.
Posted the song on my account for comparison. Im good. Lol

Jay - this is like a big paid commercial for your business - you don't engage with anyone who challenges you with respect to brands , methods , component choices ..... you just post items you are selling and claim " this is amazing - its jaw dropping " - there is no back and forth debate with you ..... the reality is that if folks went for themselves to audio shows they would know that mega systems very often do not yield the long tern enjoyment at home that much less expensive systems such as 211 single ended triode into a field coil speaker would yield at 1/10 the cost . Its not like you walk into these shows and there is one particular system that blows anyone's mind ....... they all sound good ...... some like MBL and German Physiks sound different because they are omnidirectional - .... Lansche uses a CORONA Plasma Tweeter which sounds like nothing else ...... the big electrostatics have a special sound and well as the large horn speakers ..... but the conventional speakers that use pistons - they have a limit to what they can do no matter how much you spend ...... and most folks don't even need a preamp - just a B1 impedance matching box with no gain stage If they are just running digital ............... we now are in a world where components are built to look ultra expensive so they can be ultra expensive - the most important thing is to keep the signal path as simple as possible ......the more components and cables the original signal goes thru the worse the sound
many of these mega systems have bombastic bass and big sound stage - that can also overwhelm you after a while in your house - but they wont do vocals any better , they wont make a flute sound more than a real flute , they wont make an nylon guitar sound more real - then a much less expensive well designed smaller speaker speaker can. Many of these speakers such as the big Wilson arrays have very small sweet spots - there might literally be one chair in the room where it sounds good . and Horn speakers are going to allow you to have amazing sound using a tiny tube amp that costs just a few grand yet you will have huge dynamics
well said
I dont like this sound, so right And no punch
how are you going to evaluate a half million dollar system with any accuracy thru your iPhone ?
@@robbase-f6xbingo… you’re super smart
the sound means nothing but his insight and experience can be of value
@@robbase-f6x exactly 👍
I think people are over reacting, there is no way this sounds bad or thin and sounds way better with the curtains drawn, just needs the finishing touches with some floor coverings in front of the speakers at the reflection points. Give the room and Jays expertise a break guys HE KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING
Ouch ,bright and brittle….
Thats Jay's sound bro
