Yeah far from the truth. A great star but nowhere near the last. At time of writing we still have Olivia De Haviland, Kirk Douglas, Kim Novak, Cicely Tyson, Doris Day, Sidney Poitier, Joanne Woodward and few others.
Gorgeous gown I own the Nolan Miller Midnight Blue Velvet and just lost out on my bid for this extraordinary stunning gown on the most beautiful woman ever. ELIZABETH WE LOVE YOU! Class, beauty and style.
...."and to be given to me by the press, that's incredible"....this just became my new favorite video of hers....lol...Love Elizabeth Taylor - she has always brought me luck.
She epitomized Class. This era is truly gone which mesmerized us and blessed us with true Stardom! We can only enjoy those true stars on the silver screen nowadays!
Elizabeth was stunningly beautiful around this time in her Nolan Miller gown. She lost all the weight she gained in the late 1970s. It was about a year latter she released her own fragrance "passion." In the tv and print ads for passion Elizabeth looked gorgeous in another purple (her favourite colour) Nolan Miller creation.
She is a great woman. She is extremely down to earth and REAL. She is also very courageous. You cannot say that about most stars. Remember she is one of the very few who stood by the side of Rock Hudson when he was diagnosed with AIDS back when we didn't know much about the disease. She never turned her back on him. She was also one of the few celebrities that stood by Michael Jackson during his darkest hours. She remained a very close friend of his up until the end. In truth they were very much alike. Both very intelligent, funny and humble. If they had been closer in age they would have made a great couple I believe. So much in common. For those of you rolling your eyes about Michael Jackson, don't bother. Everything you ever heard the press say about him is total bullshit. Michael was not only the greatest entertainer the world has ever seen. He was an amazing human being and unfortunately he was too good for this world. Racism and greed destroyed him. Michael wrote a wonderful song for Elizabeth. RUclips it.
Thank you, Ann Landers for such a beautiful and poignant post about a woman, who was one of a kind! Your post was spot on! I cannot express, how much I miss Dame Elizabeth Taylor! She was absolutely one of Michael Jacksons loyalist friend's and his fiercest protector, and advocate. Because of you Elizabeth Taylor, I dedicated my lifes work as an RN, to working with the HIV population here in my hometown of NY. Elizabeth Taylor: You are missed so very much by me, and your fans will always love you. RIP.
I remember watching this on tv when it aired. I thought she looked so beautiful that night. This is the first time I see it since then. Thanks for posting.
*Elizabeth, Sophia, Ava, Rita, - the great and classy beauties of all time. but for pure class and elegance: Audrey Hepburn tops them all. she was also an amazing human being & humanitarian.*
She was a great beauty and an academy award winning actress. Her love for her children Richard Burton and her dear friends who passed was strong until the end. Elizabeth was a great humanitarian in her fight for aids and her own health was precarious with too many hospitalizations. She was strong brave and he’s she made mistakes in her life but she more than Made up for it. I hope she’s with Richard Burton and her friends now and she will always be remembered. Elizabeth Taylor the last true star. ❤
My top 3 most beautiful women to ever walk the planet... in order... 1) Marilyn Monroe.... 2) Elizabeth Taylor... and 3) Anna Nicole Smith... these women portrayed such strength, such grace, such beauty and elegance... yet such vulnerability at the same time. God rest all their souls
My first memories of this amazing looking woman was from the mid 80s while still at high school and her close bond relationship with her great friend Michael Jackson. Then as I got older I started watching her old movies. WOW what a beauty. Definitely a fine actress but the heaven sent figure to rival one Ms Marilyn Monroe in the curves department and Ms Hedy Lamarr in the face department.
Yes, a beautiful woman with a beautiful heart, amazing eyes and they really knew how to dress glamorously back then, these days they put on a dress by an expensive designer with hardly any jewellery, Her husbands loved to buy her diamonds and very expensive jewellery because she was bedazzling and they looked great on her.
very humble n eloquent speech......i am surprised liz did not come up there drunk n stumbling like she has done at past award shows.....n she showed them all as the 80's came in SNL n many ppl were making fun of her because of her weight n her fading looks(joan rivers)....Allwell, liz lost weight...had some plastic surgery n got a tan n changed her make-up n reinvented herself with white diamonds n came back on the scene looking nothing less than stunning..work them liz!!!
There's no plastic surgery there, pal. And she's been "tan" on stage many times in her life. Look up the clip where she awards the Oscar for Midnight Cowboy if you want to see beautiful. She was a stunner, and she was only drunk at that ONE awards show, and yes she gained weight at one time. But her looks were never fading. Know your history about someone and be accurate.
One of the most beautiful women in the world.
The most!!!!!!
With an istrionic talent!
Jesus I forgot how unbelievably beautiful this woman was.
I miss the 1980's. The stars were brighter then and we all knew who they were!
The LAST Hollywood STAR ! What a career and what a life ! I've loved her ever since I was 11 years old in 1956. A true star and a true beauty.
disagreed, we still have a few living legends. Doris day and Kirk Douglas to name 2
Yeah far from the truth. A great star but nowhere near the last. At time of writing we still have Olivia De Haviland, Kirk Douglas, Kim Novak, Cicely Tyson, Doris Day, Sidney Poitier, Joanne Woodward and few others.
@@lukepearson5639 and Sophia Loren.
Doris Day is now sadly gone too :’(

What a gracious lady!
Wow, she is at the height of her beauty here, and what a lovely speech.
i agree : height of her beauty. strange how that occurs in her 50's instead of 30's. but here I'd say she is the most beautiful face ive ever seen.
That dress is everything
Gabe Charles Yaaaaaas! That dress is much more than everything!!
Nolan Miller
She was so beautiful and gracious
Wow...she was gorgeous!
What a dress
Gorgeous gown I own the Nolan Miller Midnight Blue Velvet and just lost out on my bid for this extraordinary stunning gown on the most beautiful woman ever. ELIZABETH WE LOVE YOU! Class, beauty and style.

She is like Cleopatra - men will talk about her forever
Elizabeth was born to be a star.
...."and to be given to me by the press, that's incredible"....this just became my new favorite video of hers....lol...Love Elizabeth Taylor - she has always brought me luck.
So poised and so well spoken, truly an amazing lady:)
She epitomized Class. This era is truly gone which mesmerized us and blessed us with true Stardom! We can only enjoy those true stars on the silver screen nowadays!

They don't make them like they used to. I mean that in the best way possible.
So sweet and humble for a GREAT lady. God rest her soul
She's so funny. Also she definitely deserves the award! :)

Beautiful beautiful Elisabeth. Great great woman and artist.
Breathtakingly beautiful woman. A lady who was beautiful on the inside too. She did and gave so much to charity.

Элизабет неотразима' браво
I believe this gown was designed by Valentino. Elizabeth told Michael Kors that Valentino was her favourite dress designer.

Eterna Belleza
I agree ome of the beautifull woman and actres

She looks healthy and toned here, unlike in the 70s when she talks as if shes drunk or drugged
Back when awards shows had class.
Шикарная женщина!!!
Лиз ты на все времена была настоящей женщиной в полном смысле женщина леди мис мадам королева. Поклон до самых до небес

Is she fabulous or what ,? Yes she still lives.
Yes, a beautiful woman with a beautiful heart, amazing eyes and they really knew how to dress glamorously back then, these days they put on a dress by an expensive designer with hardly any jewellery, Her husbands loved to buy her diamonds and very expensive jewellery because she was bedazzling and they looked great on her.
lol at the beginning hehe
@johnnyafairbanksak yeah because she had a stroke not long before
♨️♨️♨️💓
to me it's funny how these actors and actresses always fete themselves. I mean what have they done that's so great?!
დაუვიწყარი ელისაბედი😂⚘
Flash forward to 16 years later...she would have no clue what to do when presenting the last award to Gladiator!!!
I like Sophia Loren ...
very humble n eloquent speech......i am surprised liz did not come up there drunk n stumbling like she has done at past award shows.....n she showed them all as the 80's came in SNL n many ppl were making fun of her because of her weight n her fading looks(joan rivers)....Allwell, liz lost weight...had some plastic surgery n got a tan n changed her make-up n reinvented herself with white diamonds n came back on the scene looking nothing less than stunning..work them liz!!!
She was overweight for very few years of her life.
and you won't let us forget it.
She never had plastic surgery. I saw that woman when she was in her 60's and she was stunning then.

UTUBE JUST IN TIME BY JOHN BAVAS
Elizabeth Taylor deserved the award, unlike undeserving and endlessly self promoting Oprah Winfrey.
She was so beautiful but i never like her hairstyles
lol! 80s mullets! but she had great hairstyles back in the 60s!
I prefer elizabeth with long hair
She wouldn't have liked yours.
I liked it styled the way it was in Butterfield 8
knowzmyname Yeah, she looked good in that movie.
Fatal edition
A Xanax bar or two popper before this. Thats shy she felt that "sense of warmth".
Never liked Liz taylor
She never had much dress sense and was never much of an actress.
What a beautiful humble speech
