- Zimbabwe's central bank, the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ), issued a digital currency supported by gold for use as legal tender.
The goal is to assist in stabilising the Zimbabwean dollar and safeguarding citizens against currency fluctuations.
The southern African nation joins other African nations such as Nigeria, Ghana, and South Africa in introducing digital currencies, with several others in the planning stages.

Nice move zimbabwe 🇿🇼 I hope all african countries can follow ur example were tired of this usd currency as africans
Great move by Zimbabwe to be applauded.. An economy backed by gold will provide an important contribution towards stabilizing the country. IMF policies don't work for Africa.
At this point as a African I support whatever effort to decolonise our economy ✊🏿🇿🇦
This is very good try your best

I will Zimbabwe to stick will whatever there think will help their country... Both world bank and IMF are just speaking base on their own perceptive. Listening to their advice can't be fruitful. The same IMF that adviced Nigeria see Nigeria now
You are speaking truth
IMF, who cares about IMF ? ,they gave Zimbabwe sanction so what are they saying today . it will stand as long as Gold stand .
Where is IMF coming in
The IMF would prefer African countries to burrow money from them at 1000% interest rates instead of having currency backed on resources that they have plenty of in Africa, African countries can even have money backed by sunshine, because they have so much of it and Solar power is going to become a major factor in the future of energy production.
Hatingodzikamai mhani Mari iyi haina basa iyi.... As long corruption of those who said zim ndeye ropa still exists.... Nhema dzenyu.
Zim needs change inside and make sure manzwanana nema western countries moita better tax muma companies mopawo farm kune anogona
Then moisa Mari yenyu inoita power.
You need money without jobs it will remain to those vagara vanayo
