I love trail building videos!
Love the new series Jeff! For sure you should berm the corner the dirt is also super soft and will speed up as it packs in. Maybe extend the run it to get more initial speed before the first jump?
I love the worm time-lapse! May be time for a new series - "Fungus and Insect time-lapses".
Hahahaha good idea!
Berm into a roller. Need more speed! Sick work Jeff.
Yeah that seems like the right call!
Love the worm shoutouts 😂
My fav series on yt at the moment!
Thanks Will!
Roller up top and dig down more (bowl out) just before the new takeoff. More downward momentum going into the takeoff may help with boost to clear the log. Also consider drainage. Nice use of the natural landscape!!
I would move that rock, in case someone runs wide in the loose snot someday, great job.
Hey man, great vid! You guys managed to snap the mattock end of the pickaxe cause they're really not designed for prying at all, just chopping roots - best to just use the pick end or the breaker bar for that!
You should do a berm right after hip landing with a roller at the end of berm for more pump to clear the step up better. Also could then jump down the incline into the downhill.
Totally! And maybe a bit of a shark fin effect with a step down out of the berm.
@Jeff I keep an old heavy axe for roots and sometimes I'll use the hand saw. Trail building where lots of roots and rocks really makes you appreciate the finished product. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy the ride
I Will build a berm between the jumps, for sure. 💪
Have you considered using TNT to clear those pesky rocks? Also to cut those roots maybe a circular saw may come handy.
love your content!
Maybe invest in a battery sawzall w/ a pruning blade to cut those roots 🤙🏼
That makes sense! Buncha folks have recommended that too!
I'm sold
Please make a Berm bevor the Stepup
Those damn rocks always bigger then u can see lol
I’m excited about this! Thanks Riley, great work guys. I love that you banana packed with your motorbike, and you can see how well the lip was packed when you first hit it. Tools are better when modified!
Loving the backyard trail building. Your property looks so lush and loamy 😍
Build a roll in off the roof or a deck. (Sell it to your wife as a an improved view of the property with storage below and safer access to clear the gutters.) Make the roll in removable boards that rest on the stairs, leave a thin strip of stairs exposed to climb up.
Obviously you need berms first to handle more speed
Yes 🤘🏻 I’ve always wanted to have some jumps in my backyard.
Me too- but they will quickly become pitbike jumps tho!
I'll be working my way into my own trails one day! Over covid I dug our "garden" into a berm and followed up with some rollers a skinny and a coupla line choices throughout. It was a project for a tiny space and I loved it!
Right on Jerry!
Seems like a berm in the corner before the “nurse jump” would give you the speed to clear it more easily. Easy to say for a guy who’s not building it lol 😂
I wish I had the time to do this kinda work, it looks so fun! Honestly, it would help if you had a roller and a roll-in to start the line to have the speed for the rest of your line. Sick to watch the progress, keep it up, guys!
Sick little loop to have in the backyard!
It's been fun! Honestly I'm more excited to make a kid friendly trail around all of this, I find myself doing hotlaps on the pit bikes more than bicycling at home. Id rather go mountain biking than pitbiking, but for a 5 minute break from work, the pit bike is great!
Fantastic video! So fun!
Love the new series!! Good luck with the come a long. I destroyed one quickly and regretted not buying a slightly more expensive one someplace else.
Thanks Nick, so far the come along is a HUGE upgrade over the ratchet straps! I got the big 4000# one, hoping it lasts a few uses at least.
If u make transition less steep on lands can go deeper and be less harsh
berm and a roller
Agreed!
You need to make a whale tale and a wooden launcher into a very steep section with a wall ride at the end
Hahaha had not thought about a whale tail! I'm not really into building wooden things to ride, TBH.
A berm would likely help a ton with speed!
Looking good! And as for the tools, you definitely get what you pay for! 😛
Right?! I regret that pick. That thing sucks. The old one was a workhorse!
Wow. Looks like the dirt is very malleable. For the last 2 months, I have been helping my friend build a brand new trail with berms, jumps, and step ups.
We had an unusual amount of precipation dumped at San Clemente CA now. The dirt has been easily transformed into a fun flowy, jump line trail. The trail is still a "work in progress",
I can't wait to visit Bellingham, and revisit Galbraith trails. Also Brown, Space Wolf, Devil's Cross, and BrownPow.
Yeah our dirt is pretty soft, but we're rarely mining for the "good" dirt that has the golden color to it. San Clemente has that amazing decomposed granite- that stuff can be so awesome in the wet!
loving this! but where are your trailboss tools?!
First Comment! Love seeing the build! If you ever need a local photographer for a few photos, hit me up!
Thank you Jack!
Should have bought pulleys and snatch blocks
Put some sand and clay in that mix so you can get a faster rolling surface!
Eventually!
I assume you own a cordless Sawzall, way better on the roots. If not buy one.
Berm!
Fun video, thx for posting.
Thanks for watching!
Talk about bringing a pickaxe to a chainsaw party
😂 no way, a chainsaw is absolutely not appropriate to have in the dirt like that. A cordless sawzall would be the ticket!
Can you get early access to a Transition Relay and let us know how it is, and the range you get out of it?
Oh that'd be fun! I'm working on two bike reviews at the moment, stay tuned!
@@JeffKendallWeed If you do get a chance to ride one, please let us know how much vert you can get on a full charge in both trail and turbo mode and how much you weigh.
Who makes that flannel?
Endura, hoping to have some Jenson USA links to them soon. For now, you can see what else they've got here: bit.ly/EnduraJKW
Not wearing the tyrant for once
Use big rock to make berm?
Caveman style!
Sleep on it. The trail always tells you where it wants to go. But, it's what you want to get out of it that will make the final decision. More speed captain. Run in, berm . . . ebike?
I think a run in, a bonzai into the hip, a berm/roller/shark fin thing, and just riding it a lot to pack it down!
Sleep on it, or taking time is great advice, it stinks to rush multiple features then regret them
Build a berm because you were losing a lot of speed in that turn
Totally! And I need to ride it more to pack it all down.
@@JeffKendallWeed that also would make sense
