Lauren Daigle's Message on Winning, Losing, and Pride

- Grammy Award-winning singer Lauren Daigle has secured a slew of accolades and positive attention in both Christian and secular realms over the years. And when recently asked to share the biggest lesson she's learned throughout her illustrious career, the "Look Up Child" vocalist passionately spoke about the power of humility.
"Humility is a good thing," Daigle said during a red-carpet interview during Sunday night's KLOVE Fan Awards in Nashville, Tennesse. "And I know that there's a lot of things vying for our affection, vying for the feeling of importance that we all somehow long for in our own unique little way, right?" The singer, who is nominated for KLOVE Fan Awards for Female Artist of the Year and Artist of the Year, went on to explain what she told her nieces when they asked, "What are you gonna do if you win?"
"I said, 'OK, I'm gonna walk up on stage and I'll say this speech and, you know, whatever," Daigle said. "And they say, 'What are you gonna do if you lose?' And I said, 'I'm gonna cheer everyone else on.'" Daigle's point was that she would support whoever ended up winning, putting her pride aside. She encouraged others to take a similar posture. "There is so much pressure on so many different artists and so many people to sustain charts and do this, do that," she said of young artists. "And the truth of the matter is: humility is the thing that is so rewarding, and so fulfilling, and it just ... allows you to have longevity in this career, and life, and joy in it - and as a human."
Fellow singer Ellie Holcomb echoed Daigle's words about humility and pride. She quoted Al Andrews, director of Porter's Call, a ministry that serves musicians in Tennessee. Holcomb said she was intrigued by Andrews' response when asked for the one thing he knows is true after spending two decades counseling musicians. "[He said] ... 'The human heart was not built for notoriety,'" she recounted. "And it's that exact same thing, and so it's, get your worth, ground your worth in something deeper, wider, and stronger than any of the other things that God's giving you to do - grounded in His love for you."

She never mentions Jesus at all in this interview. What about singing for Jesus? It's not just about humility, it's about Jesus dying for our sins to be set free so we can know the truth. She needs to repent and speak the name Jesus, because that's who will save you, not christian artists.

I just went to see her in concert last night in Ohio. Ellie opened for her and it was a great experience. She sounds wonderful live and she was very gracious with her band and background singers when sharing the stage with them.
Also humility is what honors and pleases the Lord
For those of you saying Lauren doesn’t believe in God or read her Bible you could not be more wrong. She has prayed over many, did Bible study’s with us, and her songs are FOR THE LORD!!! Why does she say she’s not a Christian artist then? Because Christian limits music to a group of people she wants EVERYONE to know about Gods goodness not just Christians. Christian music can be listened to by anyone. If you’re preaching the Gospel, you cannot be vague. God should be unmistakably glorified.

Romans chapter 1 is all she needed to read. I'm sure someone has told her what to read. Not sure if she did... Doesn't seem that she has... No fruit of it. The Holy Spirit convicts of sin. If we confess our sins he's faithful. But we MUST BE BORN AGAIN

I don’t agree with any music that doesn’t glorify God . Music Today of the world’s views and only satisfied the flesh . I am truly taken back when a Christian wants to justify why they listen to carnal music . They should seriously read the Word of God concerning music . I don’t think Christian read the word of God enough to understand and have conviction on this .

I thought she was a worship singer but no words to praise and thank Jesus and point others towards Him. Is she becoming mainstream or going the route of Amy grant and gonna start excusing and promoting sin?

Yeah. Six years ago, she pleaded ignorance when asked about the issue of homosexuality on iHeart Radio, even though the issue was clear as a day. Hopefully Daigle wised up since then. The only thing worse than secularism is progressive “Christianity”.
This post is typical of why so many people are turned off organized religion. Evangelical Christians put the standards so high, so strict, that almost no one qualifies. Evangelicals are every bit as guilty as Catholics for believing that only THEIR church is the one true path to salvation. You're just like the Catholics.

She never talks about Jesus in her songs or interviews. It blows my mind how popular she is. Makes me sad how many Christians listen to her.
