I used to make this all the time, and for some reason, I have not made this in so long I can't even remember when we last had this. This one is getting made tomorrow for sure. I'll make it with mashed potatoes and broccoli. mmm mmm Good! Thank you so much for reminding me of a fantastic meal. (we make it exactly the same too!)
I've tried to do Salisbury Steak at home and it came out tasting like meatloaf. It was good, but didn't have that Salisbury taste. This looks delicious! Happy Birthday Micah!
I absolutely love your channel you and your husband have such a nice chemistry and are so good to each other. I watch your show and it makes my day. So thank you for all your hard work and sharing your wonderful family.
I made this dinner Sunday and I just wanted to make a few comments. I used beef broth not stock. I didnt have mushroom stock to use or kitchen bouquet. The patties were excellent but the gravy lacked depth. I really think the stock and kitchen boquet would have made it better. The leftovers were awesome though. I don't know why some things just taste better the next day. Thanks Noreen! hink the
Wondra flour? Hum, I never knew. Thanks for the information. I'm going to add that to my pantry staples. I too keep Kitchen Bouquet on had at all times. It does add deliciousness to brown gravy. You do yours slightly different. Typically I brown my patties on the stove top, while at the same time, I make the mushroom gravy. When both are done, they're combined into a large pan and put into the oven for a bit to cook together. I love recipes like this that are so versatile, you can adjust them to your availability in the kitchen and your family's taste preference. TFS!!
Every time I make Salisbury Steaks..... My husband and I will only eat it with egg noodles! There is nothing better than egg noodles with the gravy! yum! This looks great. I've never cooked them in the oven to start! I always finished them with the gravy in the oven. But this is a real time saver! Looks Delish!
My hubby would LOVE this! I think I have everything in the kitchen to make it tonight. Except the steak seasoning you speak of. Is it your own blend or a certain brand you buy? I checked your website but it's not coming up in the search.
This look fabulous, I'm gonna make it this week for my husband...Thank you for your wonderful recipes, there quick and easy to follow. I have a request, will you do more crock pot videos...if it works out in your schedule. Thumbs up!
That looked WONDERFUL!!! What a lovely treat for your daughter's birthday! I have 2 questions: 1. can you tell me what is in your seasoning blend that you used, I believe 2 tsps.? 2. I wonder if there would be any way to get that lovely looking sticky fond off the paper to use in the gravy mixture?? Stay warm, and Happy Birthday to your daughter!!! Della :-)
I used Szeged steak seasoning. Not my own blend. I don't think there is any way to get what is basically burnt ketchup off the parchment. I wouldn't want that in my gravy
Oops!!! Burnt ketchup..........no that wouldn't make a very tasty addition to any gravy recipe.... ;-) Suffice it to say that it looked a lot more appetizing from far away!! lol
Thank you, Noreen. Looks DELISH! I will give this a try. This brought back memories of the 1950's t.v. dinners. Except for one thing. The t.v. dinners steak was like 'shoe leather'. My husband said, "At that time anything tasted good if it had GRAVY on it." Thank you also for always including the link for a printable recipe. :0)
It's totally worth it. Much, much healthier and a much more humane life for the cattle. I prefer the taste over the so-called "corn" (trash) fed beef also. My parents raise organic grass fed cows in northern CA so I might be biased. Btw- I made bread today with your bread recipe and it turned out CRAZY good!
Just made this for Sunday supper with full expectations I would have leftovers for another meal. Suffice to say within 30 min this meal was devoured! This is simple good old food! Comforting and filling too. Thank you Noreen! I think it's great that you make these great meals in a small kitchen with an old coil top stove just like me. Not all of us live in mansions with Viking ranges and access (or funds) for exotic ingredients. Thanks again for your honest recipes that help me feed my family well.
Ummmm, ok. You need to do a video on this. I've seen do it yourself manicures. They look nothing like this. Yours are amazing, they look so good!!! You have to do a video on this. Will you? Xx
Noreen's Kitchen No, I don't think so. I have a cooking channel. Not a beauty channel. I won't be sharing this information. This is a box of fake nails that anyone can buy at the Wal-mart. You glue them on. That is all. I agree, they are very nice.
What the heck to you think Salisbury steak is? It is mini meatloaves in gravy. If you have some other idea of what Salisbury steak it, then I suggest that you make a video sharing your vast Salisbury steak knowledge and upload it on your channel so we can all learn from the master.
Noreen's Kitchen I'm wondering if eckankar makes her Salisbury steak like I do, which is actually Swiss steak with mushroom gravy instead of the normal tomato based version. It used to be if you went to the mom and pop diners up here (in MI) that is what you got for Salisbury, unlike the restaurants now that purchase their Salisbury from the suppliers companies which servers the mini meatloaf style.
looks fabulous!
That looks delicious Noreen!

This Salisbury Steak Recipe Looks Delicious Noreen!!!! And believe it or not, my son's birthday, and my niece's birthday is also on Halloween.
Hey Noreen that looks soo good😋 could I make this same recipe but with cubed steak
My mother uses a product that is similar to wondra. She calls it quick corn starch. It´s one of her cooking secrets.
Oh wow! I want some. :)

Happy belated birthday Micah! Looks delicious as usual Noreen. Thank you :)
Noreen, you are just awesome! Thanks for sharing and for the inspiration so continuously for so long. 🙂
Looks delish! Doesn't adding the garlic right away with the onions cause it burn? I know you stirred it good but that would be my fear.

So I am wondering if you could adopt me? I am 36 and all but I'll be real good and do all the kitchen clean up after meals ;O) Looks sooo good!!
My hubby would LOVE this! I think I have everything in the kitchen to make it tonight. Except the steak seasoning you speak of. Is it your own blend or a certain brand you buy? I checked your website but it's not coming up in the search.
I used my Szeged Steak Seasoning, but anything you personally enjoy seasoning steak with is just fine.
This look fabulous, I'm gonna make it this week for my husband...Thank you for your wonderful recipes, there quick and easy to follow. I have a request, will you do more crock pot videos...if it works out in your schedule. Thumbs up!

Beautiful recipe!!
What are they charging per pound for grass fed ground beef where you live??
Around $6.00. Expensive, I know, but worth it for the peace of mind. Since we really don't eat ground beef that much it all comes out in the wash.
It's totally worth it. Much, much healthier and a much more humane life for the cattle. I prefer the taste over the so-called "corn" (trash) fed beef also. My parents raise organic grass fed cows in northern CA so I might be biased.

how do u do the flour if you don't have wondra i don't think they sell that in canada
Sorry, me again, your nails look fantastic. How did you do that? Make the whites that white? Xx
I bought a box of super short French style nails and glued them on. Volia! perfect manicure!
Ummmm, ok. You need to do a video on this. I've seen do it yourself manicures. They look nothing like this. Yours are amazing, they look so good!!! You have to do a video on this. Will you? Xx

That dinner looks amazing!! By the way, my Grandson was born on Halloween as well but unlike your little girl, my little guy is now one : )
Can you show your daughters on a video sometime?
Yum! Add Mac-n-cheese instead of the noodles and yummers...
What was the steak seasoning you used?
this is meatloaf not salisbury steak
Except it has salisbury steak gravy all over it! Obviously NOT meatloaf!
What the heck to you think Salisbury steak is? It is mini meatloaves in gravy. If you have some other idea of what Salisbury steak it, then I suggest that you make a video sharing your vast Salisbury steak knowledge and upload it on your channel so we can all learn from the master.
I love you Noreen!! Your videos are the best ever!

brat46 I don't know. I grew up with this as Salisbury steak. I have never know any other.
You lost me at ketchup. Yuck!
