    It's amazing how the cameras missed absolutely everything back in those days.

    Absolutely a tragedy about Bob Morris car. I’m a Ford fan foremost but gee it was great that Dicky won. Both those Falcons were killers that day.

    Lol l can’t believe how heavily the entry to Skyline has been modified. No runoff whatsoever. I watched this live as a kid and can’t believe how far we’ve come.

    Terrible accident, many many cars wrecked!! I am confident 17 DJ Falcon would have finished the race and won!

      Ford Sook Johnson gifted a 700 km victory ….And 16 Falcon wins to 36 Holden wins, kinda says which was a better race car, if you want to count Sierras and Cortina’s add a few more..

    Shame Morris went that hard, he was catching the DJ car with plenty of time to pass Gibson without taking risks like that. Would have made a hell of a finish if he didn't crash, and caught up to French.

    True 'Amateur Hour' stuff! Christine shouldn't have been out there...just like that stupid Volvo. Her driving abilities, together with old tyres, was not driving anywhere close to the speeds of the real professionals, when one of those same professionals closes up onto her at super fast speeds, and she doesn't watch out on her mirrors and get over for him was a disgrace. She was only circulating for shits and giggles, as Morris (Professional race car driver) was driving to win the race, and for his career. Damn shame.

      if you look at the photos you will see it wasnt her fault, it was Morris that caused the crash

      @@cool3865 As I said, she was an amateur and Morris was a Professional. He was on the lead lap and catching the leader as he and Fitzpatrick had been pacing themselves all race to make an impact in the final laps as planned. She was being lapped...again (being 5 laps down) and she 'closed the door on him' instead of letting him go through - That's exactly what the photo shows. I've seen the photo many times, as it was published a few weeks after the event. It's the same thing that happed to Bartlett earlier, and he wanted to 'snot' the bloke!

    • @musclecarbear4704
      @musclecarbear4704 5 месяцев назад

      @@markrhodes8885 Yeah...5 laps down on the leaders! ...and amongst the stragglers and other amateurs. Bathurst back then wasn't as professional as it is now with huge grids with 15+ cars that have a chance of winning. Back then there was only a handful of cars that had a chance, and once a couple of these had issues you only had a few left. Just look at the result from this race as the top three cars were serious contenders with 'real' professional drivers, just about all other were stragglers or amateurs...like Gibson. So being 5 laps down IS quite slow and she was being lapped again by the leaders when she 'closed the door' on Morris who was lapping her.
