Actually Croatia organised this for his return home because we are so proud. This is just a clip od the broadcast that was on our local tv today for his return home. People in Zagreb were waitin on the airport for him to land, then taken on the main square in Zagreb where he was supported by our country as you can see.
That is really great. You greeted him like the winner. I am glad he got the recognition he deserved.

Earlier before this part of the of the whole stream, he did a short speech where he said "I hope I made you proud" and then he started crying and his team hugged him on stage. This is just so huge for him and he's such a humble person

I’m Croatian but I don’t live in Croatia anymore. This was on main square in Zagreb. And yes, he was our winner since he won Dora contest. 💖🇭🇷
You should see the video where the whole Croatia danced. The flag behind is flag of Zagreb city.
And you should also see how we greeted our football team in 2018. We also won 2nd place but celebrate as we were the world champions. 😂

I know exactly what you're talking about. I'm Hungarian, my wife is Croatian. I watched with her the reception of the Croatian national team, who won the silver medal in the 2018 Football World Cup. It was fantastic. They came in second, but the whole country welcomed them as if they had won the World Cup. From the airport to the city center, hundreds of thousands lined the streets, hundreds of thousands greeted them as if they had brought home the gold medal. Croatian television broadcasted their reception live for 8 hours(!), showing how the people, the country, welcomed the team (ruclips.net/video/w4XaHlwJoiM/видео.html&pp=ygUTMjAxOCBkb2NlayB2YXRyZW5paA%3D%3D). Fantastic people. Fantastic unity. Since then, I've watched this video four(!) times. Every nation in the world could learn from this. Croatia, you have my heart!!! I wish my nation would welcome the second-placed like this. I wish anywhere in the world they would welcome the second-placed as if they were the winners.
@@zoltan.rozgonyi yes! I lived in Croatia in 2018. and spent almost the whole day in the city, waiting for the team to arrive. We waited for 7 hours in hot sun and there was lack of water but nobody cared. It was so amazing, emotional and just beautiful! Everyone celebrated, everyone was in a good mood and united. People that don’t know each other became best friends. I was standing there at the Croatian national theatre because the main square was so crowded you couldn’t lift your hand up. I think that summer is my favourite memory from Zagreb and I was born in Zagreb.

First time he sang live with his band and in this video it's his 2nd performance on playback with other musicians who participated in a party. The Village people behind him are Let 3, the bend that represented Croatia on Eurovision last year. There was also Emilia Kokic who won the Eurovision for Yugoslavia in 1989 and Tajci who represented Yugoslavia in 1990 when the Eurovision was held in Zagreb

At the age of 57, I spent two hours on a public light pole by the fountain. Welcome Baby Lasagna organized in the main square of Zagreb. Ban Jelacic Square. We were entertained by last year's representatives at the Eurovision Song Contest, Let 3. Tatjana Matejaš Tajči performed at the Eurovision Song Contest 30 years ago. Emilija Kokić who won the Eurovision Song Contest with her group Riva. The welcome for Baby Lasanja was very emotional because he did not expect so many people. It was a real spectacle of positive emotions, love and respect for this modest boy who made the song all by himself in his room.Greetings from Zagreb

He was greeted at the airport , drove to the Main square where our representatives from last year, and reps from like a loooong time ago ..our major and some politicians aswell...but i guess he is the biggest star rn. He won all our hearts, cried onstage, he is the true winner. 🎉 This is not the first time we did someting for people that did something huge for this country. We may have the silver (2nd place) , but it shines gold💖🏆

He wasn't upset, he was actually very emotional and thanked the people saying he hoped he made them proud before bursting into tears.
This is in the main square in our main city Zagreb. This is a lot of people by Croatian standard especially as this was organised in a very short notice. Before him Riva performed - a Croatian bend that performed and won Eurovision under the Yugoslavian flag.
Also there was Tajči who represented Croatia (or maybe still Yugoslavia) when Zagreb hosted the Eurovision. Also there on the stage was Let3, the band that represented Croatia last year in Liverpool.

Croatia rule - if our people go out to some competition and make us proud, we welcome them on main square in our capital. People go there in huge numbers, u should see a huuuuge crowd when we won silver in world cup football, and we don't need to be winners to be proud. He is our winner and will be.
Sjećam se dočeka reprezentacije. Bila sam bolesna i preporuka je bila mirovati doma. Kad sam vidjela ljude kako se okupljaju dobila sam snagu i volju... obukla se... Natrpala hranu i vodu u torbu i krenula u centar grada u 10 h ujutro.... došla doma u 19h.Bilo je sve fantastično. Uspomena za cijeli život. BL nisam mogla dočekati. Morala sam na put, ali sam uz suze radosnice pratila sve na tv-i. Ujedinjeni u radosti i nevolji. Tako treba biti. Mali narod velike ljubavi za svoje. 🥰🇭🇷🥰🙏

This is us, Croatian people, we are huge fans of our people (football team, handball team, back in the days Janica Kostelić in skiing and her brother Ivica, the list goes on). We are a small country a little bit hectic and sometimes people don't understand us 🤣but this is what we do when we are proud. And believe me, we are really damn proud of Marko (that is Baby Lasagna's real name).
Yes, there are famous people there. The band (you called one of them Village people) that was on Eurovision last year. Also, there is the Eurovision winner from 1989. Also, there is the singer who came 4th in 1988. The all sang to the public before Baby Lasagna came. This is in Zagreb. The main square.

This was his second time singing RTTD on this stage. The first time he actually sang. Too bad there is not the video of that... Yes, there were famous croatian people: Tajči (Hajde da ludujemo), Emilija Kokić (Rock me baby), Let 3 (Mama Šč)... They all performed before Baby Lasagna came to the Main Square in the open bus from the airport. It was really an experience! ❤️

He is really a special young guy! The most amazing part of this welcoming party was when he got so emotional and couldn’t hide his tears. Soo cute! And an amazing fact about him that before this huge success of his nobody knew he existed. He was not rich or famous. From government he received a gift of €50K and he refused it and asked to gave it to the two children’s oncology clinics. He said that they need money more than he does. Woow! We love you Marko! Thank you for all the joy you brought to Croatia! ❤️❤️❤️

Im from Croatia and i watched this after Party. It took place at the main squaire in Zagreb called „ trg bana josipa jelacica. There where a lot of stars who welcomed Baby Lassgna such as the President of Croatia, the major of Zagreb and a lot of stars of the Croatian music industry who also participated in the past in the Eurovision Song Contest.

At 1:39 in pink dress you can see Tatjana Matejas (married Cameron) Tajchi and she was competing on Eurosong 34 years ago. On her right side, in silver dress is Emilija Kokić once lead vocal of the Yugoslavian band called Riva. Riva won the Eurosong back in 1989. although the entire band is from Croatia we were competing under Yugoslavia. At 1:40 behind Baby Lasagna you can see members of the band Let 3. They were also competing in 2023. on the Eurosong. Baby Lasagna is the winner, always will be. Hell, even that trophy didn't like wrong hands. :) regards from Croatia

Just a need to clarify a bit, as I was on that square on Sunday :D...it is Zagreb's main square and this reception was a surprise for him to show him how much support he has. So he wasn't prepared for this, as you can see he was in a Metallica hoodie. Also, he was so touched that he actually started to cry at one point in the beginning. So he sang it for himself for the first time when he arrived on the square and later the production played the song again and this is what you are showing here, the second time when the song was played and not actually performed by Marko. He just sang along. You could see that he was very tired but very happy. Also, as a Croatian I must thank all of you who voted for us, for this amazing and humble dude. :)
So Fabulous and lots of fun and good feelings. They won the People's vote, more of the Juries voted for Switzerland. I really love this guy, he seems humble. It was the only act that wrote his own song and in his bedroom. He was only a reserve entry for his own country competition.
This was actually a welcome home party, straight from the airport. Spontaneous. He said he thought it would be about 100 people there. And actually got very emotional to see how many came.
