    Some clever ideas. This allows the truck-bed to be used to haul large items if needed. Well done. A follow-up video after having used this set up after a time would certainly be interesting.

    I like your design requirements. I decided to consider Accessibility from the viewpoint that you should not have to move things to get to what you want ie upright fridge in the canopy, a slide out draw for pantry, a water tank with tap, battery/inverter etc. Yes it might cost a little more, but I want my life to be easier with less lifting. I chose a Norweld canopy!

    Thanks for making and posting this, and all of the canopy camper videos that you have. I really like that you take the board you were using as a seat and turn it into a table. What is it that you attached to the long end of the board that attach to the window of the canopy camper? I'd like to do the same thing but am not sure how you're hooking it on there.

      Thanks for watching and I'm glad you found the video useful. Re the table, the long edge an aluminium angle. The wide edge is screwed into the plywood (about 7 ply), leaving a gap between the edge of the plywood the the right angel edge of the aluminium. The gaps is about 13mm, enough to fit over the edge of the window sill. Hope that helps.

    I’m really interested in the Alu cab camper, unfortunately it didn’t show up in this year’s caravan show in Sydney. Also there seems nothing being available for the fit-out like GOOse in US to get here. Would it be possible to but down the hardwood flooring on which you can build cabinets etc...

      Yes, you can put down any floor you like. Thanks for watching.

    What size nuts did you get for the eye bolts? I'm trying M8 but jeez it's tight

      M8 is correct. It is a tight fit

    I just discovered the Alu-Cab Canopy Camper (ACCC). I think it is brilliant as well. For the longest time I was wanting either an 80 Series or a Troopy with a pop-up. But this ACCC checks off almost all the boxes the 80 or Troopy would have provided for my expedition living arrangements.
    I have a self-built Transit van for Canada/USA use - "I love it". For Mexico going south use I wanted a, more nimble, more light, more offroad capable unit - hence the accc. Do you figure someone could live out of an accc for 3 month stretches much like you would out of a Troopy except a lighter smaller/lighter platform?

      Thanks for viewing and commenting. I also have both the Troopy and the Hilux with the ACCC. I'm sure you could live out of the ACCC for 3 months. My Troopy is set up with a roof top tent, so and the cooking/living is done outside, under the awing and then climb up onto the roof for sleeping. I like the ACCC on the Hilux because, when necessary, you can cook and live in the ACCC in addition to outside living. Also, you can climb into bed from the inside and/or the outside. Happy travels.

    What size truck bed do you have?

    • @Adventure8
      @Adventure8  3 года назад

      Bed size is equivalent to double size bed, however the length is around 2300mm.

    This is such a sick setup. Cath and I were looking to see if we could do something similar with a hire van because all the campervans were booked out over the holidays. But.....where would you put surfboards?

    • @Adventure8

      Roof racks. I find with my set up, I still need roof racks to carry long items that don’t fit inside.
