If you ever do go stage 2(which is very noticeable) make sure you go catted. The brand really doesn’t matter. The stage 2 ots tune is meant for catted downpipes
@@benbattista5035 The people bashing OTS tunes know what OTS tunes are. They are not good as a long term solution. I've run Cobb and MAP OTS tunes and while it was better than stock, they weren't much to write home about. The problem with OTS tunes is they are generic. Your engine, at your elevation and climate is going to behave very differently than another identical engine at a different elevation, etc.... so OTS tunes are made to work with a very broad range of conditions. That means they make a LOT of compromises. After running OTS tunes and being dissatisfied we went with a grimmspeed catted jpipe, grimmspeed e port EBCS, cat back and got etuned from Torqued Performance. Completely different animal. Worth every bit of the couple thousand spent. No intakes, no BOV's (those are noise makers not power adders).

@@miguelcervantes3950 the transmission itself should be enough for you to not even buy this car. Especially if you’re buying one used(if your buying one used prepare yourself to spend alot of money). Second the stock tune from factory is horrible and if you buy a access port to put a decent off the shelf tune you immediately void your warranty. Which you’ll 1000% need in the future. A new wrx cost around 33-35k out the door. For 33-35k you can finance a used type r(100% better then a wrx and sometimes a sti), 2019 low mile 5.0, and maybe even a 2019 sti with low miles.
@@blackfacegaming191 a low mile used sti sure since it’ll run you around 36-39k. But a brand new sti will run you around 47 out the day which is not worth “saving” for.
the "glass transmission" was mostly attributed to the last gen wrx's. the transmission in the 15+ wrx's is much stronger. don't me wrong the sti's is much more robust. Baider Built shows a side by side comparison of all the drive train components and its very obvious the difference.
The clutches in the 2015-2018 are the biggest transmission problem. They go out super quickly to the point that Subaru finally made an updated part mid 2018 to address it.
Anything above 350HP is pushing the Stock FA20, Major weakness of this engine is the angle split connecting rods, Once they bend because of the additional stress the engine is then junk, Most people don't want to spend the money to build the engine properly for the additional power they want to just bolt on parts and hope for the best and when the engine blows the cars are considered "junk" blows my mind every time.
I have a 2020 WRX Base, and already ordered a Greddy Remark 4" Axel back system, and about to order the stage 1+ Kit from MAPerformance. I thought I could just get a cold air intake and be done but nooooo. You have to get a COBB access port and get it tuned haha. Quick question though, I also got a TurboXS 50/50 BoV and was told by my Subaru Dealership that it would be fine with the car, but he would want me to have it tuned so the MAF knows its dumping half the air. Is that something you guys would recommend? I just want that fat turbo woosh when I get off the gas and thought this would be a good way to go about it.
I have been building my 2020 WRX Premium CVT (yes, I know, but rush hour traffic and constant shifting is lame). Easiest way to remember: BPV = No tune, BOV = Yes tune. Also I love Cobb and MAPerformance but don't flash OTS tunes and think you're done. You need to add a boost controller and get a protune. Probably 7-800 all in. Any catback or further exhausts need no tune as well. The fact that your dealership told you to to go and get a tune because of the MAF changes speaks to their integrity. Understand that if something breaks and it can be determined the tune was the problem, warranty will not cover. Hope all this helps. Happy tuning!
Don't add more power to the CVT, it can't handle the additional torque. Stick to suspension, wheels, tires etc. If you want more power, sell it and get a 6 speed.

edge lighting went fucking crazy on this one lmao
Yesterday, I tried to buy a 2021 model but it wasn’t there when I got to the dealer (The dealership decided to sell it at auction instead :()
Today, there’s a 2020 WRX that I’m eyeing on and will check it out later. Hopefully everything will go smoothly…that it goes all the way to my hands
Only one thing matters... have it pro tuned on a dyno!
E tune works just as good
Cryo tune in Denver is world renowned e tunes
👌
Love my 15WRX. done lots of bolt on stuff but saving to beef up those internals and put the big boy front mount intercooler on.
Don't do it because it ends up costing more then that sti. Atleast it will if you go with the 15+wrx with the Fa and want to make real power. Trust me I know it well. I have a 2017 WRX currently making 600+awhp 34psi all the way to 8,000RPM. With fully built longblock motec ECU, port injection, turbo kit every modification possible and a full Sti transmission swap. The money to power ratio is crap. But if your goal is just some bolt on parts and flex fuel it's a great car. I love my car even with all the money I've spent. It's an animal but most people don't want to spend that on a car
WORD..
Your car is wild. I commented on some of your vids before lol. I feel like the cost of fbo+flex and possibly an fp blue is reasonable to put someone right around 400whp. I'm almost all bolt ones and flex and I'm barley scraping by at 350whp, it's a fun daily but nothing "fast". I want to build it but the money isn't there yet, it's like I can afford the turbo, ewg, and tune but then I'm barley able to put money down for a transmission upgrade. Then I need to do the block as well, and that is over budget. I want more zoom zoom but need more monies :(
@@luvhcchris thank you so much! I need to work on my channel to busy to put more into it. Yah that was what happened with me. I had full bolt on and flex fuel and I think I made 340 if that on stock block so I just pulled the stock longblock and Trans. End of the story I'm 60k deep in modifications and I'm still not making what I think I should. But it's still insane power especially with anti lag
@@luvhcchris Honestly just take your time don't go past the recommended levels and save up for as long as possible. Once you get the money needed to build it you can decide then if you still want to.
Then just stay at 400 wheel if you don’t want to spend on a staged block. A stock turbo can get you 400 easily
I’m okay with 300hp soo I guess time to modify
Lots of pros. These cars make 400whp all day with quality parts and a quality tuner.
