The best Canadian real life Vette channel. Glad the filter was not too bad. I changed my DCT filter at 3, 7 and 12000 Kms. No transmission issues so far😅
Great video Mike really enjoyed watching you open up that DTC filter. Glad to see Andrea helping you with this. Looking forward to your next video stay safe Mike and Andrea.
As an oil guy, I would say that the filter is doing its job. You also have a pan filter. I tested my oil out of my vehicle with 4500 miles and they were nowhere particles of any concern and the oil was extremely clean from a particle count.

I also did Weir metals by IPC and they look great, which is the most important part.
I already hit the like button, I do every time. Mike I am a G.M. fan since I was a teen, and that was a long time ago, but if I were you I would have all work done at the dealership, SO it's documented! As for the transmission I would press the service Mgr as to what exactly went wrong and what is G.M. going to do about it. You know the drill "Trust but Verify" ok let us know what they said, enjoy the snow and ice, were dry and dusty here in eastern Oregon, take care.............................see ya
I think it's pretty bad when you follow the manufactures service intervals and you wind up with a blown transmission. It never ceases to amaze me the junk that is being turned out these days. Not just GM but across the manufactures. This reminds me of the Toyota engines blowing up due to manufacturing debris. The C3 probably has the original 49 year old transmission that still works.
2020 Lotus Evora gearhead. I did oil filter change at 600 miles and 1200 miles just for peace of mind. Fyi its a 3.5 L V6 Toyota Engine. Supercharged to 416hp 332 lbs torque. About 1400 kg. Just now educating myself on the C8 Z06 since prices are finally coming down some.
I don’t know Mike…don’t think theirs enough shiny particulars to cause gears not to be shifting …thinking defective solenoid and maybe in general a badly produced Friday transmission JMHO. Painful regardless and think our VINs are close as I ordered Oct 17; 2022 and took delivery Dec 21, 2022. What date did u order and take delivery??
Oh to remember the days of the old reliable Powerglides, Turbo 350’s and 400’s. I think if they’re having these issues with the DCT they should have an initial oil and filter change at 1500 km paid for by GM. For the money it costs them it’s still cheaper than a transmission change. Volkswagen used to have a 1500 mile engine oil change for all their new cars back in the 70’s and 80’s. Paid for by VW. Look at the horror stories on Ford Focus DCTs…they couldn’t be fixed and there’s a class action lawsuit about them. Nissan CVT’s have all sorts of problems too. Stick with a manual transmission or a torque converter automatic…no more than 8 speeds!
That grey stuff would be the clutch disks. Don’t think an oil change would have saved the transmission. GM built a POS plain and simple. Oil and filters are cheaper than replacing parts. You better hope the replacement trans doesn’t shit the bed I doubt they’d do a warranty replacement again. The filter was doing its job it could be the quality of fluid causing issues.

Great video. Love your stuff. I’ll be changing mine more regularly than recommended. Can’t hurt.
Yeah I'll be doing same with new transmission.
@ yep. Smart

You are 100% correct.

I would love a 2019 Manual Z06. End of an era. Beautiful car

Is Kenny parked out in the weather this Winter?? I'm shocked I say!!!!

At least it sounds like GM is working with you and everything is under warranty...
Well you might get an answer as to why the granny in the C8 failed..
There buying time to make sure the trans is working correct.
Luggage rack on a Vette dumb idea
I personally like the look. And the C3 has almost no storage. It's not my favorite car i just don't fit.
good there is a filter that takes the flakes out of circulation. Andrea is good with camera 😊
