Copper pennies (1909-1981) are worth more in their 95% copper than regular pennies 95% zinc, minted after 1981. You could sell your collection gradually by putting some in bags and ask a higher price than present-day pennies, if you want to sell them on Ebay. Copper's latest price per pound (151 pennies) has been skirting $4.00 this week. So, one copper penny's value is about 2.5 cents. I hope this helps. I also am collecting copper pennies by buying penny coin rolls and pick out the ones made of copper.
Yeah, all the ones on the table are copper. I have about 20 boxes of copper now. I'm actually in the process of putting together another video about this very subject.
Yeah, it's crazy. I have probably 20 boxes like this now. One day, maybe we can melt/scrap them for a profit. Not sure idea be able to do that though. So much history I feel like.
I do the same. Keep the coppers and check the 82's and 83's. I don't have as many as you do but I guess I will keep them. Who knows one day copper prices may soar. Stay safe.
OMG Rick, and I thought I was bad. I actually returned a bunch of my copper pennies with the exception of certain dates. I keep all my BU coins and dates with RPM's, DDO, DDR or varieties. At some point in my life I will get too them but that is what I focus on and what to save. - Just my 2 cents...no pun intended..lol
A lot of what I've collected are still sitting in boxes waiting patiently for me to sort them and go through them lol. As of right now that's where they'll stay. You have got about double what I've got though, because I dumped a bunch of my searched ones for a plane ticket
Hello All, Steve said it last night in the stream, great minds think alike! It's just a thought, but art or just the value of Cu is worth sitting on for a rainy day. It is still money in the stack. Good luck with your quandary my friend.
Id need a bigger set up, and a bigger place to use the bigger set up if i started to melt them, on accident 😀. Yes, $ in the bank right now. Thanks brother.
With Forest Fenns treasure being found I think you should bury or hide them leaving a obscure poem sealed in an envelope and given to your local museum not to be opened until 2120 lol. Take care.
now you have a small clue to the amount of pennies I have which is about $750 in BU original bank wrapped rolls that I have collected through the years all before 1982 but mostly before 1940 to 1970 and if you include my circulated wheat"s that is about 500 pounds of pennies again $750 and my moderns bring me up to about 1,400 pounds of pennies in my collection and another 400 pounds in other USA coins which includes about half of that is in 90% silver. So in my opinion your just getting started and need to of course keep them all.
Noooo, it was rough enough just the one box, and i used a coin sorting machine. I actually stopped half way my first attempt because i thought i missed a couple. Ill just keep it at a guess. Lol!
Rick Gee that's some awesome organization. I have 85.00 worth of copper wrapped by years and mint marks . What you do with all of your Canadians and foreign coins?
I have been keeping mine for about 10 years. now I just have an entire room full of them. I kinda want to get rid of them even though I spent 10 years collecting them
I’ve heard that it’s illegal to melt those... IF you get caught😉 If not, melt and pour those bad boys!! That will be a major score!! If all else fails, put them in a big auction lot. A lot of people collect those. At least you have options . I’m sure you will make the right decision. Its time for them to find a new home. Anything would be better than dumping them back at the bank!!!👊✌️

Yeah, i dont even have the time to sort them by dates. Maybe when i retire in 25 years. Lol. Untill then its $ in the bank.
I've considered selling mine on Craigslist or another local sales site, thus avoiding shipping and possibly making at least least a few dollars a box.
Thats a very good idea!
I am not sure what I would do. Maybe look for error and variety. Or maybe buy a bunch of albums and fill them all.
I wish i had the time to go through them like that. Some day, just maybe, ill be able to do that.
I'm keeping them just like you not sure what I'm doing with mine yet either. If you come up with something awesome let me know 👍
If i figure something out, you will see it in a video, thats forsure. Lol. Thanks for watching man

Some day i hope to have the room so i can have it set up and able to sort them by dates and mints, even if its a hand full at a time.

Like #13! Hey Rick! Hunt em for errors...then spend em. 😊 Keep Pushin!
Brother, no time to even sort them by date! The Push is real! Lol
I wish you lived in CA Rick. I would drive to your location and pay cash. Indiana is just a little to much driving though. LOL.
With Forest Fenns treasure being found I think you should bury or hide them leaving a obscure poem sealed in an envelope and given to your local museum not to be opened until 2120 lol. Take care.
Who knows, maybe i never need to use them and then my grand kids, grand kids finds them and scores big! Thanks for watching man.

I couldnt amagine having so much!!! If you ever need help moving them to another place you will need a crane. Lol
I think you should double-check the count, Rick! I don't have nearly as many so I guess it's no emergency here...but you may...! lol
Noooo, it was rough enough just the one box, and i used a coin sorting machine. I actually stopped half way my first attempt because i thought i missed a couple. Ill just keep it at a guess. Lol!

I just put all of the foreigns in a bag, i have alot of Canadians, ill eventually make a book with them, i think.
I have been keeping mine for about 10 years. now I just have an entire room full of them. I kinda want to get rid of them even though I spent 10 years collecting them
Thats alot to keep! But, thats money in the bank. Id hate to see them just go back to the bank.
@@rickgeeprofitcoins6794 I think I changed my channel settings but I am not sure. Is it better?
@@IJonesCoins it still wont let me turn on notifications.
Dat allot of penny's Brother!! Can't do anything but stock pile um, can't melt um, not yet anyway.
I put all my boxes of copper pennies in a closet
And that is where mine have been. Someday, the government will let us melt, or scrap them. There will be PROFIT in that!
I’ve heard that it’s illegal to melt those... IF you get caught😉 If not, melt and pour those bad boys!! That will be a major score!! If all else fails, put them in a big auction lot. Im sure they will sit around for a while. Id need a forge to melt copper so thats out for a while. Lol. Money in the bank for a rainy day maybe.
do ya know what to do with em cuz if I sell em at eBay I feel like nobody will buy them
As of right now I just keep them.
Wyhats the best place to get a scale
Your Local Coin Shop should have one. Or office supply store. You want a scale that weighs as low as a 10th of a gram (0.1 g).
If I had a forge, I might accidentally trip and fall and drop a bunch of copper pennies into it. It’s not illegal if it’s an accident. 🤫😁👍🏻
Wahahaha, i just saod that in a comment, swear i didnt read this first! But, no forge! All i have is a torch and small crucible. One day, maybe!
So far nothing. I hear a lot of people just store them. Lots of videos on here about people and their copper pennies.
Its $ in the bank really. But moving them around sucks. 💪
I keep them for a nuclear fallout
Money in the bank for now, melt them down for bullets later.
Too poor to keep all the copper pennies, lol. I don't save them
