Hey, Robert, great to know you. I came to America in 1977, from Bucharest, Romania. The first video I watched was of your trip from Florida to California. Having put my wife and our two kids (then) on the plane to California, in Fort Lauderdale, I drove back to Hollywood to check out of our rented apartment and hit the road, following the same route you drove on. The first day I drove all the way to New Orleans, where I arrived at around 2 am. What a memorable trip it was! My Plymouth Fury 2 was just fine. Keep traveling, Robert. You remind me of what's best in the US of A. I'm sure you'll agree with me: it's the best country in the world! Thank you for bringing back all these happy memories!

I knew when I watched the first video I ran across years ago, there was something special, something more, something deeper about their creator. Hearing your story is very emotional for me. I have 2 family members who escaped Venezuela to Colombia then were able to go on to Houston, since they had an American father, but they had to leave 2 children in their early 20’s and a granddaughter in Colombia and a husband who could not leave Venezuela. The 20-something son sold hot dogs until he could afford a better job as a translator, attempting to earn his way to America legally. Seeing your story will be such an encouragement to them all.
Awesome! God Bless our America's Freedoms. Thanks for sharing your life. I'm reminded and very thankful to be an American. I hear lots of compliant, but I don't see many people leaving USA. We have new generation that thinks that life owes them something. Our Freedoms aren't free and are not a guarentee of financial success, food or housing in America. I have enjoyed your work traveling. We have started RV in north west and we are having fun. Keep going and thanks again for sharing!
Great Video and Story Robert! You had very short clip in this video of the 1982 Worlds Fair Sun Sphere located in Knoxville, TN! That is where I live and I actually attended that Worlds Fair many times as a child back in 1982! Good Times!
Thank you for sharing your story tocayo. My story is very similar to your, I even worked in the same tobacco fields that you did in Cuba as a teenager. The only difference is that I am still working and probably will until i drop dead in the snow here in the North East...lol.. My wife and I enjoy your videos and we find them more passionate and exciting that telenovelas.;)
Robert I am watching you for years. I wanted to say my son who will be 30 is alive today because of his father's accent and how he would say my name lol. My son's father in high school (we went to catholic high school) I remember they had no Christmas trees up and I thought that was soo weird. There are many Cuban areas in NJ. My son's abuelo who passed recently was a prisoner in Cuba with his brother until they were able to pay (bribed i guess) to have them released and they went to Spain for a few years before they came here in the very early 70's. My son's abuela said she would NEVER no go back. I was hoping maybe she would take my son. They were from Placetas, Cuba. I am so glad you are an American now and taking us along as you discover our country! I look forward to EVERY video. God Bless!
My husband and I have become addicted to your videos, during this pandemic. What a beautiful escape to see. You are a good tour guide, and are easy and comfortable to listen to.
Hi Robert, I come from Bulgaria in Europe and as you probably know, this country was also a part of the communist regime until the big change in 1989. I am a big fan of RUclips channel and I subscribed to your channel especially because I like the way you present your quality videos, your travellings across the US, your stories etc. I' ve never been to the US but your videos are so informative and interesting that I don't see any sense of spending money to go to US and make trips to see all those beauties you present in your videos. Wish you a lot of success in your future work, keep on doing what you feel is the best for you and be sure that you are "The American eyes" for many people in the world!
My wife and I started watching your videos a few months ago and now have seen most of the more recent ones. You see America in a way that sadly a lot of natural born citizens don't and THAT is a HUGE testament to them! I feel that they will have to experience what you and your family had to face in a communist controlled government before they can appreciate the freedoms already available for them here. One of your more impressive qualities is your patience with impatient people. God bless you and keep you safe in your travels. Welcome to the home of the brave and land of the FREE!
Like they say... find something you love to do with a passion.... and you will never WORK a day in your life. I love what you are doing, and you do it very well!! Excellent job, Robert!
Awsome story. Glad you decided to do what you did when you did. I too left Cuba in search of freedom but came directly to the US via "los vuelos" The gov did not want my father to leave offered him a post in "Obras Públicas " even tempted him with car n driver in the mid 60's. My mother and I lived as "gusanos" but it only took us 4 years from applying to exit. We of course had a sponsor in the states, my father had a job in the works in NJ before we left Cuba, stayed 1 month in Miami and moved. Funny I wound up finishing my Senior year in Miami High. Un placer paisano.
thank you so much for sharing this amazing story, happy holidays merry Christmas and a happy and healthy new year 2019 for you and your family, Feliz Navidad
Robert, I found your channel a couple of years ago and have been a fan ever since. What a great life! Always wondered what made you tick. As others have said, you are a treasure. USA won this round, and Cuba lost a really super guy. Thanks for all you do.
I followed you when you first started out on RUclips. At that time your travels were mainly in the eastern part of the US. I had traveled a lot in three different RVs in the US and internationally on land tours and cruises. When I first started watching you I was getting the itch to hit the road again. I converted a Toyota Sienna in 2014 and have been into my own travels since then. I recently discovered you again when I saw your Wild West tour on RUclips. I really enjoyed that one because I had followed a very similar route in my Sienna several years ago. So I went back to your site to see where you had gone since I last followed you, and I found your recent North Dakota video. I grew up ND in the forties and fifties and had been to many of the places you went, but you opened my eyes to what had been going on since I left ND in 1957, for example, the Enchanted Highway. Now ND is back on list travel list. I'm glad you did this life story video. I had suspected that's how you got to Florida, and now I see how you've succeeded since you came to the US. It looks like I'm a subscriber at least until I'm caught up on your travel videos. Good luck in your future travels. Maybe we'll meet on the road someday!
I've been watching your travel videos for about a year now. I love your story, content, and everything you have to share. You are an inspiration. Continued wellness into 2022!
I’m glad I found your channel. My wife and I usually watched an another RV’er’s RUclips channel and as we woke up throughout the night your channel was playing and I’m glad RUclips suggested it because It’s one my favorites now. I sing “free in my RV” all the time at work to pass time and when I’m feeling down. It lifts my spirits. Thank you for traveling and sharing your adventures with us. God bless and stay safe.
What an excellent story teller you are, Thank you! I enjoyed getting to know you a bit more through this wonderful work, Traveling Robert. Be blessed this Christmas time and into the New Years!
As an immigrant first generation citizen, I have to say... This was my favorite video, thank you for sharing your story and family pics. Very great story!
Wow Robert, that was inspiring! My mom just passed November 29th. My grandfather took her on a trip to Cuba in the late 1950s in hopes of taking her mind off my father, but she married him anyway in '59. I was born during the Cuban Missile Crises. There was so much fear surrounding that time that my mom thought we'd all die and I'd never be born. In Florida there was no I-95 then. US-1 was the main North-South artery and during the CMC it was shut to all civilian traffic. It was only open to the military and being just a few blocks from the house I was born in my parents could walk down to where University Blvd. intersected it. They said all hours day & night there was a *constant convoy* of tanks (on flatbeds), armored cars, trucks full of equipment & soldiers, artillery, etc., such that they thought a major battle was about to be fought. Same story where the train ran beside US-1. Apparently President Kennedy addressed the nation in an honest and sobering speech which I'm sure can be found on RUclips. Tense times. It's fortunate sober heads prevailed.
Robert, Thanks for your videos. We enjoy them. Thanks for coming to the United States and working for your freedom. Happy holidays to you and your family.
One of the most kick ass awesome videos to date. I absolutely loved your story brother. So happy I have found your channel. Yours has been one of inspiration for me. More than you’ll know. Big thank you and looking forward to more content.
Dropping in from Southern California. Hi Robert, I’ve been following your video for a while now. And I really enjoyed it. Want it to say thank you 🙏 for sharing your amazing traveling videos and life stories with us. Can’t wait for more.
With all the growth,l know at times it is just a challenge to see it all,but I especially enjoyed this. My folks live in Fort Pierce, and your story reminded me so intensely of when they left Cuba. The driver I believe worked on their farm or estate, and as soon as he got back the House was literally chained. It is a story you have undoubtedly heard ,but I am sure glad you make us smile through travel. I shall be flying into South Florida April, and I shall try to get you to Sailfish for an IPA!!
Enjoyed your testimony, Robert! Kudo's for taking that "Leap of faith" leaving your job and pursuing your dream! I enjoy your travel videos very much! Let the good times roll!

Thanks Robert for making this video. My wife is Colombian and we both really enjoy all of your videos. This video is my favorite of all the ones you have produced. I really love hearing about how you came to the USA. Living here when you are from another country can be very difficult. My wife still struggles with the culture differences and she has been here for 20 years. I just found this video, don't know how I missed it. Hope we get the opportunity to run into you sometime on the road.
Love your videos. You must be appalled by the rising tide of the current leftist agenda in this great nation. I for one am so delighted you came to America for you are truly an amazing travel host. Sending love from the great State of Arizona. May the Lord bless you~~Kate
You’re missing something here. They had to have 3 years worth of medical care, etc. etc. I believe a sponsor. This program was for the people who had money. In the beginning of the 20th century, your ancestors and mine probably came without a dime and were welcomed to make a go of it. He’s obviously a role model, but don’t think to compare it to the truly destitute who are coming to America out of deepest poverty and sometimes for safety.
Robert, you are an example why most Americans welcome those who desire to immigrate here. Isn't it ironic that evil governments have to put up walls to keep their citizens from fleeing their country, while freedom loving countries need to put up walls to protect itself from the hordes of people fleeing from desperate situations. My wife is from Colombia, while she is a happy US citizen, in her heart she is still Colombian. But she does not want to ever live in Colombia again as she enjoys the freedom of the USA and the opportunity the USA has for our children.
Hi Robert. I just recently discovered your videos and they have been such a blessing! Your life story is very inspirational. Oddly, my daughter and I have lived in an RV full time for the last ten years, but we have not been able to travel for financial reasons.
Very well said!
Great story! Very similar story to ours, I saw a picture of yours in our hometown of Viñales, Pinar del Rio.
Incredible story !! Thank for your videos, we enjoy them very much !!
Thank you!
I enjoyed your story so much. This is definitely what you were made for. You give much joy ❤
Feliz Natal Roberto ...e segue viajando...não pode parar!!...Usted es buena gente !!
God Bless!
Merry Christmas Robert! Loved the video. Keep traveling, we hope to meet up with you sometime on the road.
Thank you! Merry Christmas!
My husband and I have become addicted to your videos, during this pandemic. What a beautiful escape to see. You are a good tour guide, and are easy and comfortable to listen to.
Thank you Robert. I hope some day to see you out there on the road in our RV.
I was born 65 California. We are at the age of discovery. Travel is in our bones. God bless on your journey.
“of course I went to high school” HE WENT TO MY HIGH SCHOOL! 😱😱😂. class of ‘04 baby!
The absolute best thing about your videos is the fact your so human. Down to earth and just like all the rest of us. Love them and keep traveling.
Hey Robert.... enjoy your travel videos. Love you intro song.
Us too....can't get that song out of my head once I hear it! :-)
Thank you!
@@AlliChuckAdventures Catchy tune ! You should all of his music. I bought the CD. Enjoy it a lot.
@@AlliChuckAdventures HAHA me too-kinda liken to "It's A Small World" at Disney!
Hi Robert love the story of your life. I’m Cuban American myself. Keep up the great work. My family enjoys your videos so much.
Like and support from London! 😉
Thank you!
Thank you for sharing.... love watching your videos, it feels like I am traveling with you.
Thanks for telling your story. As an Anglo living in Miami, I’ve heard your story hundreds of time- God bless you. Cuba’s loss is our gain.
Like they say... find something you love to do with a passion.... and you will never WORK a day in your life. I love what you are doing, and you do it very well!! Excellent job, Robert!
'It's a wonderful life" fits you well Robert, as Paul said, "very inspirational". Keep up the good work, be safe, have fun, & happy camping. v/r, TS
Thank u for ur dedication on making this vid
Robert, terrific story to American freedom! God Bless your Mother and Father for the escape to freedom!🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🙏
thank you so much for sharing this amazing story, happy holidays merry Christmas and a happy and healthy new year 2019 for you and your family, Feliz Navidad
Robert, I found your channel a couple of years ago and have been a fan ever since. What a great life! Always wondered what made you tick. As others have said, you are a treasure. USA won this round, and Cuba lost a really super guy. Thanks for all you do.
Go Robert !
Maybe we'll meet on the road someday!
what a life, beautiful images every one of them
I've been watching your travel videos for about a year now. I love your story, content, and everything you have to share. You are an inspiration. Continued wellness into 2022!
I loved hearing your story, Robert. As the descendent of German immigrants, I always love arrival stories. 😀❤️👍🏻
Thank you
I’m glad I found your channel.
Be blessed this Christmas time and into the New Years!
now i know why i like the editing and music so much. honestly i love the music selection, it makes the vids addicting
As an immigrant first generation citizen, I have to say... This was my favorite video, thank you for sharing your story and family pics. Very great story!
This shows others to follow their dreams but be realistic as well. So glade you took the opportunity to start your video’s of your adventures!!
Thank you for telling your wonderful story and taking us “along for the ride” please don’t ever stop.
You're a born entertainer Robert. Thank you for the many hours of enjoyment you've provided and much success to you in the future.
Robert,
Thanks for your videos.
Thank you! Glad you liked it. I'd like to hear their story some day
Enjoyed your testimony, Robert! Kudo's for taking that "Leap of faith" leaving your job and pursuing your dream! I enjoy your travel videos very much! Let the good times roll!
What a great story! it's always heartwarming to hear about anyone, who's found a way to make their dreams come true. In the meantime, you're also putting out some fantastic videos for the rest of the world to enjoy, so keep up the good work!
Thank you Robert! We need more stories like these… and your videos bring so much hope. You are the American Dream. We all need to be inspired. xoxoxo many prayers for you and yours.. (and your RUclips channel) always.
Your a fine example of an immigrant Sir. Thank you for telling your life story.Your RV video's are Excellent.
This was perhaps the best present you could give your viewers ... 'your story'. Thanks Robert and Merry Christmas to you and Ileana! 🎅 ❄ ⛄
We love traveling with you on RUclips, and we hope to one day be able to physically travel to some of the amazing places you've introduced us to. You are definitely gifted. Thank you so much for sharing your life and travels and inspiring us all!
That is the America I love. I’m also an immigrant and that gives me an appreciation of this great country. Love your story- a lot of similarities with my own! Love all your videos!
What a wonderful story about your life! Thanks for sharing and God Bless you!
Trump approves of your channel. Stay thirsty my friend!
Thank you!
Fantastic true life story of you, Robert, that makes "the American dream" a needed episode of yours that everyone should watch. Thanks!
Oh...one of my brother-in-law had recently purchased a 2020 Chevy "Colorado" ... same 4 door unit and color as yours. I look forward to a ride in it before long.
And...my wife and I have really enjoyed watching your travel RUclips videos the last few months when we discovered the series on RUclips. May the Good Lord keep you safe in all your travels, Robert! Hope to see you on the roads in Georgia someday.
