The very young Richard Dawson. The start of a career built on insincere flattery of strangers. But seriously, it was a treat to see him at this young stage, even before he starred on Hogan's Heroes. This is a great episode, from start to finish.

Rose Marie also wrote an essay regarding casting couch, where she said she lost out on many roles due to her refusal. She was more secure in her position as an actress/singer as compared to Mary, who had been doing bit parts for a very long time after running away from her home and was in need of a big break.

Mary was beautiful. I'm surprised there weren't more episodes about Rob getting jealous. As a television writer, he probably encountered many men who may have cast a roving eye on Laura at parties or whatnot. Instead, there are episodes of her getting jealous of other women, which IMO is stupid. Why would anybody even look at another person if you could see Mary Tyler Moore?

I've always found Richard Dawson's "act" to be off putting...classless and profoundly shallow. Nice enough guy if he stays in his place (like "Hogan's Heroes") but a boorish cad if allowed too much latitude. He looks like the kind of person that would go "evil" if he so desired. Just sayin' what I'm seein'...I like the guy otherwise.
