      Unfortunately the Hollywood crowd no longer knows HOW to make clean wholesome comedy anymore. If you eliminated the letter F from the English language, you'd render almost ALL of them completely speechless.

    The very young Richard Dawson. The start of a career built on insincere flattery of strangers. But seriously, it was a treat to see him at this young stage, even before he starred on Hogan's Heroes. This is a great episode, from start to finish.

    Great clean fun! It’s impressive everyone in this show is always dressed to impress. Now days, people rarely dress nice. Maybe for a funeral or wedding, that’s it.

    Mary Tyler Moore was such a great actress. During the whole sequence from 9:51 to 10:31, Laura doesn’t say a word, but her body language (fake smiles, fidgety fingers, pulling her hand away) clearly screams how uncomfortable she is

    was watching an interview a few moments ago, with Richard Dawson in which he mentioned being in a DVD Show episode. It's one of the few I, never, had seen. I am, however, about to!

      Well, Sally's actress would certainly agree with you. She was to be the show's female lead before Mary made Laura more popular, resulting in Reiner and the others making her the lead instead.

      @@markcadieux3445 MTM also achieved further success post her Dick Van Dyke era. After doing the DVD show, apart from her run as a cast member of The Doris Day Show for two seasons, Rose Marie did not have much success. She would later claim that Mary Richards, the iconic character on Mary's own very successful show, was inspired by Sally Rogers.
      Rose Marie also wrote an essay regarding casting couch, where she said she lost out on many roles due to her refusal. She was more secure in her position as an actress/singer as compared to Mary, who had been doing bit parts for a very long time after running away from her home and was in need of a big break.

    Mary was beautiful. I'm surprised there weren't more episodes about Rob getting jealous. As a television writer, he probably encountered many men who may have cast a roving eye on Laura at parties or whatnot. Instead, there are episodes of her getting jealous of other women, which IMO is stupid. Why would anybody even look at another person if you could see Mary Tyler Moore?

    Another example of Mel's disrespect for Laura. He doesn't care for a moment that another man was literally kissing her on the neck and violating her personal space, not to mention obviously flirting despite her being uncomfortable and on edge, and Rob, as her husband, would have to stop it. No, all he cares for is his show, which he only works on because he married the star's sister. I understand Buddy's disdain for him much more now.

    I've always found Richard Dawson's "act" to be off putting...classless and profoundly shallow. Nice enough guy if he stays in his place (like "Hogan's Heroes") but a boorish cad if allowed too much latitude. He looks like the kind of person that would go "evil" if he so desired.
    Just sayin' what I'm seein'...I like the guy otherwise.

    Love him on Match Game but here? I don’t know if “Dick Dawson” was poorly coached or directed, or the script was so awful, or maybe he was just not a terribly good actor- but this episode stinks! I also rank it as one of the worst DVD ever.
