    I am SO jealous! That is the most impressive outfit you-all have. I live in an old travel trailer that I bought for $900. I have a cargo trailer that I had planned to build out. When my life fell apart in Florida and I got the road with my 3 little dogs, I traded in my Challenger for a 1500 4x4. I made it to Arizona and checked in with the VA to find out I needed surgery on my hands. Still have the tools but can't do much. I am a disabled veteran as well. Just found you today so I will be a travel friend. I am currently on the border in an RV park in the desert. I have been here for a year trying to figure out what to do next. Give me a shout out about your motivation/ mission.

    If you haven’t figured out the furnace /ac issue yet. When you hit the mode button, the first mode is the fan which is the ac fan. On fan
    Mode hit the +or - to switch the fan mode to auto. Then it won’t come on when you turn on the furnace.

    You may want to use some graphite for your sunroof screen over the bed. Just spread the graphite along the screen track a few time moving the screen back and forth. That should make for a better retraction.

      Oh and the TV is a Sony LED Ultra High Def (UHD) 4000k 32” model. It has all the bells and whistles; and easily connects to the internet (or internet through my WiFi hotspot on my cell phone). We love the ability to easily screen mirror from our devices to all sit and share pics and vids at the end of the day. It’s also fun to play music videos and have everyone guess which person chose it!

      Hi Gerard and thanks for joining the conversation. Initially I thought I’d want the kind size bed but have really come to love the space on either side; we use it constantly whether it’s for our individual clothing bags or stacking equipment boxes in transit. It’s also the perfect place for our dog to sleep when she comes along. As for the tp holder we haven’t had any issues with it being there, even for smaller kids, but I suppose everyone has their favorite spot!

    Can you get in and access the bathroom without opening the slides? Or, if not, can you only put out a slide on the passenger side to access the rest room while pulled off on a highway? We're worried over this one issue and we are looking at truck campers.

    • @MilitaryMobility
      @MilitaryMobility  3 года назад +1

      Hi Linda, and thanks for reaching out. This particular model (Host Mammoth) is the only triple slide in the industry, and the way it’s set up you must open the rear slide to gain entry through the doorway, we like this as we see it as a security feature from theft. To access the bathroom you could just open the rear and the driver side. We travel constantly and do road side pit stops all the time, just ensure you have at least a few feet from traffic and you’re good. It’s very quick to open and close this, a matter of seconds. We even had to do this with our enormous 5th wheel. Last note is you don’t even have to fully open the slides to access (fridge, bathroom, bed) so depending on where you are that becomes helpful. Best of luck!

    • @LHeminway
      @LHeminway 3 года назад

      @@MilitaryMobility Thanks for taking the time to reply. I need those pit stops and have been worried about that part of this.
      We are in a class B right now but want something with a bad that stays made up as well as a dry bath, so this kind of camper is quite appealing with the exception of getting in and out for that inevitable pit stop on the road side.

    Is your AC blowing cold air when your heater is on. Or is it just the fan distributing the heated air?

    • @MilitaryMobility
      @MilitaryMobility  3 года назад

      Hi Scott, the AC was blowing cold, I don’t believe there is any ducting connecting the furnace to the AC to aid is distribution; but they do share they’re wired to the thermostat. Others have let us know if we set the thermostat to auto vice just hear or cool it won’t blow both at the same time anymore. We’re currently undergoing repairs and excited to try this out soon!

    i have a question... is that toilet not too tall even for you at 5 ft 11? what about your wife ? i am 5 ft 6 and my feet would be way off the ground on that thing making it hard to use. just curious if it looks as high up as it is. the seat is even with the top of your legs.

    • @MilitaryMobility
      @MilitaryMobility  3 года назад +1

      Great question, this is the nitty gritty important stuff! We have been living and working out of this unit for quite sometime now and have all sorts of different height people in there using the bathroom. There is actually 3 “settings” if you will, on how to position yourself, depending on your height. For the tallest folks , I’d say 6’0+, there is the ground floor, then there is a ledge about 4” above that, (what I use at 5’11” and others a few inches shorter than me as well). Finally there is the platform that the toilet itself is mounted on; which works great for shorter folks or anybody who likes the “squatty potty” feel! Hope this helps🙌

    Me and the wife want one of these on a f550. Only problem is they are very VERY expensive. Too much than my broke ass can afford. I'm getting close to retirement so we're looking for the older models availability now see if we can get a setup to live in.

    • @MilitaryMobility
      @MilitaryMobility  Год назад

      Thanks for checking us out! No way around it these setups (both truck and camper) are very pricey. We got the 450 for the sole reason of the wide track front axle which we need for use on the trails, it’s just amazing! However the 350 is actually better suited for payload capacity so possibly look into those as a 550 IMO is overkill and when you get to 550 you lose a lot of creature comforts (they stop offering those at 450).
      Then as far as the camper keep an eye out on RV Trader and such, that’s how we found our deal. Good luck on retirement and congrats!

    • @ajferguson8510
      @ajferguson8510 Год назад +1

      @Military Mobility the camper I want is too heavy for a 350 or 450 I'll have to go with a 550. It's not overkill when you talking about a host mammoth 11.6. Its a heavy heavy camper and fill it up your easily hitting 6 to 7k lbs

      Congrats! That would be beautiful. I’m sure that’s a challenge with so many folks working on the road these days. You may have to pre-order 22’s. 2015 was the newest we could find in great condition when we bought it last year. We’re getting some repairs done but will post exact ceiling and shower height soon. A quick search showed an interior height of 78” (6’5”) in our rig. I’d say this is pretty accurate.
