@@applepie5846 I don't doubt it. Texas takes in over a million such immigrants per year, and that's part of the reason the state economy is so strong. But there is a limit to how many can be absorbed in a short time period, and we're over that already because the numbers have increased dramatically in the past year.

A simple thing like seeing them all with those hamburgers sent a wave of anger over me. How many people at that exact moment in Chicago and other cities across this country are going to sleep with their stomachs aching from hunger? This is wrong!! We need to take care of our own before we allow this to happen, regardless of what city they are being taken to.

I am quite sure that handling an enormous amount of migrants...is very expensive for the state of Texas to handle. They already have their own poor people and trust me they do not live well. There are only a few cities in Texas that are the ritz...and there is a housing shortage there and completely unaffordable for most people. So I am sure the governor is not racist. Texas people in general love hispanic people and their culture. You really need to be bilengual with Spanish and English to secure a good job.
This is true! In my hometown of Corpus Christi in South Texas we have a shortage of 9,000 units (apartments, townhomes and such) for our citizens at the state poverty level. Just can't build them fast enough to keep up with the amount of population growth.
Texas is only 41 percent white. The state is 40 percent Hispanic, 12 percent Black, and then Asian and others. This distribution is also reflected on the voter demographic. No way you win the state if you were racists. By contrast, Illinois is 70 percent white.

Half the state is Hispanic. The issue is the cost of educating the kids. The people that walk across the border are usually unskilled, and often illiterate even in their native language. They don't pay anything in taxes that is even close the cost of educating their children. The ones that board the buses, which is completely voluntary, generally have no other ties in the US, ...no family members to go live with. They are an immediate burden to taxpayers.

I hope they make a requirement for these migraints who want to come to the US to learn ENGLISH. I live in Arizona, and it is now at the point, when applying for jobs, that you must be billingual. More and More companies are catering to the migrants, which means they need those that speak Spanish for their hiring positions and if they are billingual of course they make more money. The people that take these jobs are enablers, which means, they are saying no need to learn ENGLISH, we have your back, and will be here for you. p.s. I love people from all over the world. I am worldly and have friends from 13 different countries. But I see this as political, on both sides. The Dems want to fill the red states with blue voters and this is how you do it. So the red state is sending the new assumed-by-the-left-to-be blue voters to the already blue cities. Seems legit. I have respected immigrants since I was a kid, in the fact that many of them leave everything and everyone they know behind them to travel thousands of miles to try to have a better life. Come with $20 and start a dynasty. I love any kind of rags to riches stories. I wish all the kids the best, they didn't ask for any of this. And unfortunately many of these kids will end up in the wrong hands. There's also the flip side. In Champaign,Illinois 3 Guatemalan men ( 3 brothers at 3 residences) were arrested last week for buying minor children girls from Guatemala, having them sent to a trailer park in Champaign, and making them work like slaves at their homes and restaurants and abusing them physically..........Another Guatamalan man was arrested for buying a 16 year old girl and holding her captive in Champaign last year. Back to the case in point: I don't really think this is a natural flow of immigrants. I have seen reports for years of stories out of Guatemala, etc, about US Democratic 'charity' groups going to these countries and encouraging people there to send their kids and families to America. I highly doubt that all of a sudden one day, 5,000 people start walking to America at 430pm on a Tuesday. Ya best believe it is an organized effort. So Abbott is playing chess with them as well. Abbotts Federal Government officials above him won't allow a fortified border, (like the ones we built in Yemen, Somalia, Iraq, Sudan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya, Ukraine, and so on) so he has to resort to this.
