To repeat: This is how Tanks are looking based on changes in TWW and current playstyle. There absolutely are Tanks with 0% chance of being Meta in Mythic+ or Raids, but Meta talk will come later on
A refreshing honest take, credit to you. The dungeons have enough sh*t going on with all the mechanics to also be worrying about 8-10 abilities etc, sometimes simple is best.
Most likely VDH in highest keys with the current state on Beta sadly. But if you're not a top 0.1% player you can play literaly any tank and perform great.
The problem is always to find groups…if youre nota meta or if its in the lowest part or ranks, just forget it. At leats it was always like that in the 3200+ io ranks
If you are a tank you can just open your own key and pick from a lot of players who will pour in just seconds. It is always easier to find dps, and you are a chooser as a tank, not a beggar. @@brunolott7278
@@brunolott7278different this time around. VDH was so broken you took it cause it was a CC powerhouse regardless of comp. now that it’s nerfed you’re literally bringing it only for chaos brand and revolving around a caster comp.
VDH is much harder in terms of surviving, If u mess up you cds u just get one shot :D Prot warrior is unkillable in my opinion. Unlike DH you can maintain your mitigation all the time and it helps a lot.
in regards to BDK, you shouldn't have been using DS back to back outside of incredibly niche situations anyways. so it really doesnt change anything if you were or are going to play properly lol.
Generally a low skill floor is bad for new/average players, That is like the absolute worst you can possibly do, if you don't use any of your active mitigation/push your buttons how much of a nightmare you would be to keep alive. So like a DK that doesn't know how to manage their blue juice is just going to be a pancake. I think in general, the skill floor for any tank is pretty much in the basement because of how the active mitigation system works, and that contributes to low tank numbers. You're basically a crappy DPS unless you manage your defensives. If you're a new tank in any game, you want a really high skill floor, with a very high skill ceiling. That way you can start out being bad, and not get horribly punished for it till you know what you're doing. I think Prot Warrior is the closest to that imo, though the ceiling isn't as high as something like Blood or VDH. Guardian for example, the skill floor is still the basement if you don't use Ironfur, you just die. A bad bear tank is a nightmare to keep alive. A bad Prot Warrior can still passively block/has decent armor. The rotation for Guardian isn't so much simple as it is mud. All the visual effects/sounds are pretty lame, and thrash/swipe don't feel good to use and are too similar in feeling. Then you're basically just proc whackamole. It's not very satisfying. Ironfur isn't very fun to push despite being a rage consumer. It just eats your rage, and feels like nothing happened. Mangle plays kinda like Shield Slam and would be really fun to use, except it doesn't sound or look cool -- so it doesn't "feel" that great to press. Shield Slam on the other hand has this really great sound effect and hits like a truck, so it feels fantastic to use. Swipe just feels awful to use, looks lame and sounds like swishing spit around your mouth. Swipe imo is also just button bloat filler. Raze is just button bloat for the AOE damage Maul should do. Basically your buttons don't feel particularly great to press, and a lot of your buttons kinda overlap in functionality. (At least IMO anyways) Playing Guardian is like swatting a bunch of flies trying to deal with all of the procs covering your screen. Then if you use Ironfur too much to dump your rage, you won't be able to frenzied regen to heal and you can still get pancaked. It's abilities aren't so radically unique or individually impactful that each ability feels like it has a specific purpose. At the end of the day, each button press just kinda blends in to the whackamole. It's like a vague "push iron fur and smash the rest of your buttons, but mangle and thrash the most" and everything else is just slosh. It makes me super sad tbh. Every other tank has pretty decent sounds/visuals. Prot Warrior I think has the most satisfying visuals/sound effects and feels the best to play imo. Great vid though!
playing top 50 brew since 2 addons now (not a big achievement since we are not meta ever :D ) im pretty sure that brew is pretty forgiving on the defensive side of gameplay if you dont get for the high end of keys - so picking brew up is not that hard to get trough and survive keys up to +10 - optimizing dmg is quite more challenging then some other tanks - but as a completetly new tank i would be way more feared to pick up dk or dh to survive as beginner
Seems like the same old same old. First patch of a new expansion means that tanks are very squishy and have to be careful. So bear is all around a good option because it's just a ton of health. Paladins are great utility and a cast won't go off while being able to heal themselves and other. Monk is for the guys who live and die monks. SO probably great, death knights are great once they have gear enough to not get one shot, and warriors are a coin flip.
And this is the only thing that matters. I think only frost dk is competitive with any caster. All melee or far below Mages, Warlocks, Aug , and Ele. Give it enough time and Shadow Priest will be back.
@@Gumblethebear resto druid doesn't mean you need Bear. Balance is a thing. Mark of the Wild isn't game breaking. Resto druid wasn't meta in S3 just S4.
@@slymcfly123 You didn't understand. If Resto Druid is bad, VDH will lose some ground because neither feral nor balance are any good, so Mark is more likely to come from a Bear (excluding the VDH). I don't care how meta BDK or VDH will be, I'm still maining my Brew and keeping my (claw) Guardian as an alt. 😤❤️
how it's going on with brew right now? are you happy with the class in TWW atm? new tank here, looking to know what to do as main/alts :)
blood DK is still my Fav tanking Spec and looks like it will be my Main ALT going into TWW. glad is doing good
Just leveled a Guardian druid a couple of days ago. Seems ok...pretty simple with way less buttons than my protection pally.

I honestly want to only BDK or Brew. If I have to tank.

The more powerful caster dps are the more likely vdh will be meta regardless of how powerful it is compared to other tanks.

I could come close to Frost dk on my survival hunter in m+, and yet they just nerfed our bomb damage by 25% for some reason.
can you explain why?
@akxeros5895 choas brand debuff is a major factor. Even with the sigil nerf if casters are meta dps you will find vdh in the meta
so lets hope for havok getting big dmg numbers when tuning is finished to not need to go on this vengeance meta :D
So question: Is this all just from an analytical approach or have you also been trying them out a bit in beta?
is it normal for bears to have less HP than other tanks?
No, bears have always had the MOST HP out of all others tanks.
Bear ofc, at least for the slap in the face s1.

Yep
