On the hour, this clock plays Westminster chimes (without hour call).
I'm not sure when this clock was made, but how aged it looks, it looks vintage.
It takes 4 AA batteries (2 for the movement, 2 for the chime).
my grandmother had this exact clock in her house after she passed i dont know who in my family has it. this video brought back wonderful memories thanks.

I have 4 or 5 of these clocks. Most are plastic, all chime. Found them all here and there at the Goodwill Stores. $1.99, $2.99 - I have 70 clocks, all different kinds, 14 of them chime, sounds like church starting at 12:00! I've learned how to fix them by tinkering around. Some are tricky but it's fun and rewarding when you figure out "what makes them tick" and chime. ♡

My parents have this clock.. we bought it at Kmart in probably 1996? It’s still runs and chimes like it did when it was new

Sorry but this is not a "regulator" in the true meaning of the term.Such things are driven by weights, have metre long pendulums either in wood or with devices to compensate for variations in temperature. They should have escapements of the "dead beat" pattern and be completely lacking in bells and chimes. The name sounds good and has been used as an encouragement for people to buy timepieces but the real thing is rare, collectable and expensive.
This is my favorite Quartz regulator besides it uses the overused old wesminster chime
Even though this clock does not strike the hour, it has a very nice sound!

Hey my dads got one of these I was actually trying to fix it up today, the batter contacts for the speaker are a little messed up and need some resoldering
The 1 I had is low pitch and I got it at goodwill in 2022
I used to have a doorbell that sound like that.

but the pengulin is broken somehow
My had 1 of these but it fell off wall when I was young
I have that i got that from Goodwill but the pendulum hook broke and the piece is lost and the sound is very bad

Is it triple a batteries? Or doble a batteries.
It takes three AA batteries. I usually only make the time and pendulum run but not the sound since it doesn’t shut off at night. (Maybe 2 out of 3 batteries inserted)

any clocks that plays westminster chimes and runs off battery are not vintage, anything that runs by springs and weights are vintage, i seen some mantle clocks that are electric that has chime rods and plays the westminster chimes and counts the hours are vintage but rare

You are incorrect. They Still Make Wound clocks and weight driven clocks.
And they have made battery westminster clocks for a very long time now. since like the 90s. making them old enough to be vintage.
although battery clocks go back atleast 30 years
