I deal with a lot of parts that have "complex" datum features and radial datums features that are about R 77". Will a best fit alignment be the best way to measure these types of parts? tolerances are open mostly. .010 - .020 position tolerances, etc. Any pointers? (I am using the romer arm so iterative alignment is not an option)

When you do alignment of the part that would likely be according to the datum planes specified on the drawing right?
