Steph Curry has one of the best look amatuer celebrity golf swings in the game, let's dive into his driver swing as he previews the Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke and see why he's such a good golfer and driver of the golf ball.
You'll see great width in his takeaway, along with a nice turn into his backswing. Many amateurs sway in their backswing isntead of properly loading their back leg, Steph does a great job at this which is a big reason he is such a consistent ball striker. Swaying too much leads to fat iron shots and popped up drivers.
If I had one suggestion for Steph it would be to recenter a bit earlier, closer to the top of his downswing. A little late in recentering, it will add to some inconsistency in striking as well as lost power.
In his downswing he holds his lag really well keeping his arms tight close to his body, helping product an inside to out swing path for some beautiful draws, and he even proves he's using the ground for additional power with his flaring front left foot post impact!

It isn't there yet, but I would almost bet (no pun intended) that Mookie Betts will have a great swing. He's a crazy talented athlete, if he wants to excel in golf, I wouldn't doubt him.

He is the greatest shooter to ever pick up a basketball with tremendous repeatable mechanics so it is no surprise his golf mechanics would be very good.

please do video on the action of the sacrum/tail bone of a long driver.......people will be shocked to realize how much the bottom of the tail bone moves toward the target on the backswing.... this is an important concept to get a good internal grasp.

That’s true. The recentering of a long driver is so aggressive!

even with normal swinging folk, the action of the sacrum is not understood@@longdrivebryce

if he cleared his left hip a little better it'd be even pretty...... seems this is the moment I am talking aboutruclips.net/video/SFCu2JPul_4/видео.html...... this is what sets up this... ruclips.net/video/SFCu2JPul_4/видео.html...... maybe a little hio bumo at the top would solve it, getting the left hio better positioned with the left femur..... something seems a little off and I suspect it goes back to his late lateral move......anyhow, thanks... good length.....why only one view?

Yea it seems he was really prioritizing hitting it straight here vs adding additional speed and athleticism

I think if someone just got him to slide the top of the back of the right crest of the ilium toward the target as he approaches the top of his swing would do it..., yeah some call that bumping the hip. If you think of that bone sliding on a rail just a bit is better than this idea of bumping, imho..... keeps the hips from getting to quick and helps the left thigh get loaded. anyhow... do more celeb swings. do trump, wacky move works pretty darn good him, like a dirty, girthy, exaggerated sam snead move with hints of bruce litsky.@@longdrivebryce
