It was 1am in the morning and the stall had no attendant, just a bunch of pears, a scale to weigh the pears and a cardboard with a QR code on it. The vlogger chose a few pears, weighed them, scanned the QR code and sent the money. It was quite amazing people trusted an arrangement like this. The scale was most certainly worth more the the few pears the stall owner was intending to sell lol.
A lot of supermarkets already have self checkout. On top of that many have self weighing, you know you buy fruits and vegetables you do the weighing yourself and the price bar code gets printed for checking out. Yes, in China.

Nice video, Olli, and thanks for reminding us. My family and I were there 2 years ago and we loved every minute. We went up the same hill as you and we even had a helicopter tour for a birds-eye view and also rented e-bike for excursion. Yangshuo is such a gorgeous place to be. Regards from Sweden.

honestly, looking at those karst landscapes, I can' help picturing there are some thousands of years old ancient tombs full of treasures secured with treacherous and lethal mechanism, or a malicious underground temple that will suck you in and trap you forever.....
