  • This video series shows how to build an Enraged Rabbit Carrot Feeder known as the ERCF v2 for your 3d printer. In this video, I'm using a Siboor kit that comes with a CNC 80T gear. You will need to 3d print your own parts with this kit. The kit is organized really well with a toolbox of very high quality parts. It even comes with a BTT BigTreeTech EBB MMB Mainboard and 2209 drivers.
    This video is part 1 which provides an introduction to the documentation and shows how to build the gearbox.

    I also just jumped into the V2 Siboor kit, absolutely love to have this as a guide once I get started. I know a lot of us are currently waiting on it to arrive, having the wisdom of someone who's gone through it is priceless. Thank you so much.

    Hi, I probably sound dumb, but I want to be sure I know what I'm buying. Does Siboor ERCF V2 kit include 3D printed parts? From my understanding it doesn't which isn't really an issue, I just couldn't find it written anywhere.

      It does not. You will need to print those parts by yourself. Thanks for posting!

    I think I would love to have some sort of filament runout up near the ERCF so that I could load a few blacks in a row and have the system auto-switch during really large prints

    • @KapmansBasementWorkshop
      @KapmansBasementWorkshop  23 дня назад

      The buffer has all that and more. And you can load multiple black finlaments just for when one runs out. All 8 spools can be black if you need it to be.

    Hi, I would like to ask if this ERCF v2 can be used with the QIDI Q1 PRO. thank you for the answers.

      This should work with any printer. The challenge is going to be the tool head. Use tip forming and no sensors or replace it with sttealthburner?

    This may be a dumb question but it looks like it might be possible to scale this down to just two colors?

    • @KapmansBasementWorkshop
      @KapmansBasementWorkshop  2 месяца назад +1

      I think you can easily scale it down to 2 colors. I would probably add a few extra than you might need just for convenience. It can give you color choice without needing to swap filaments manually or also give you a choice of filament type. Being able to switch between ABS and PLA between different prints (for example).

    How long did it take to print all the parts? I've made a few plates, and it looks like on my V2 350mm with Dragon UHF it's still going to be like 5 days and that doesn't include ERCT, surely that can't be right?!

    I notice that the custom 80t wheel that sibor includes doesn't quite fit correctly. it can rub on the outside of the the motor arm. also there is approximately 5.2mm space between the 80t wheel and spacer to the bearing, the spacer should be touching the bearing. I have disassembled and tried assembling without belt and you may find like in my case the 80t wheel is slightly rubbing.

      @@KapmansBasementWorkshop I have cut a 5.3mm piece of PTFE Bowden tube and put it between the wheel and spacer, to kind of replicate the same size of the original printable 80t wheel. It has given me good guaranteed clearance. 👍

    Another way to get those bearings pressed into place is with a C clamp.

    My kit from Siboor arrives early next week. Your video is perfect timing for me. I recently finished the Voron 2.4 300 from Siboor (with TAP, just before they switched to cartographer) and it was an excellent project. Really looking forward to building this and following along with your video. I've enjoyed all your other videos so far, so I'm pleased you've kicked this project off.

      @@KapmansBasementWorkshop I may have spoken too quickly about my ERCF delivery - DHL is "holding my package for payments owing", which is what I see when I enter the tracking number, but DHL has not reached out to me at all. This is NOT an Aliexpress/Siboor problem, but last time they used FedEx and it was great. I might have to request they don't use DHL for future purchases. FedEx notified me in advance that I had money owing for Customs, so that I could pay it and not delay delivery. DHL seems less concerned with delays during the last 100 miles.🤬

    I've been waiting for a kit that supports 12 channels. It is weird all of the kits that are out support 6/8/9 channels when the official BOM is for 4/8/12 channels. Also the BTT MMB only supports 10 pre-gate sensors instead of 12. Also it has 4 Stepper Drivers instead of the 2 needed for ERCF v2. Not sure what the deal is with the suppliers on ERCF v2.

    • @Spice__King
      @Spice__King 5 месяцев назад +1

      There are other MMU designs out there that use more steppers, BTT's MMB (as well as Mellow's own take on it) was designed to accommodate these other MMUs along with the ERCF. As for more end stops, my plan is to tuck a Pi Pico under the buffer with a CAN transceiver. I'll just tap what I need off the backside on the MMB.

    • @KapmansBasementWorkshop
      @KapmansBasementWorkshop  5 месяцев назад

      I'm about to start the filament blocks, but it it seems that it would not take much to bring this to 12. I'll keep this in mind and consider how I would extend it if needed. That said, I would have been very happy with 6. Thanks!

    • @KapmansBasementWorkshop
      @KapmansBasementWorkshop  5 месяцев назад

      It's really just support for a few additional sensors, filament blocks and extrusion and a d-shaft, right?

    • @Spice__King
      @Spice__King 5 месяцев назад

      @@KapmansBasementWorkshopalso need the 8mm rods, new belt and longer cable chain for the main body, as well as the nuts, bolts, BMG extruder gears, and magnets to go in each filament block too. I bought half meter rods and extrusion, so I'm probably going to cut them down to fit a round 18 filament blocks. Could cram 19 on there, but that is not a nice round number.
