This combo of regular MFM episodes + "masterclass" type of content is the perfect mix. keep them coming!! You're transforming into Uncle Shaan aka the jedi master
3rd. So so true. Have also learned that just because you can do something it doesn't mean you should do something. I think that often our life plays out according to the number of times we use the word no. Thanks Shaan!
This episode was PURE GOLD! Thank you! P.S - HubSpot ads in the middle are super annoying and totally broke my LASER FOCUS on an otherwise spectacular episode. I say NO to... HubSpot ads!
Thank you Uncle Shaan. Ngl this episode and the episode breaking down a whole masterclass of writing have been my favorite so far. Saying no to all the shiny objects that pop in your head day in and day out is something I also struggle with. Appreciate you keeping your focus on creating the best value for your audience. You a real one
Here’s my tricks: For short term goals: -dark room with airpods vibing to music For long term goals: -every night I put my airpods in and find a short inspiring motivation tiktok and just let it play over and over for several minutes. It helps relax me and drowns out any self doubt or negative thoughts.
Thank you Uncle Shaan. Great content and I really appreciated your new notebook buddy - really helped with visualization as opposed to using digital power point. Mission, yearly goals, foundation needed for those goals to be acheived, monthly benchmarks. Prioritizing your time daily and yes's vs no's all trickle up to success 👍🏼🙏🏼
I am going straight into my flow state and I’ll hit you up on x with my fleshed out comments after great pod you got me to jump from podcast to RUclips for this one
Very clear. Went from micro to macro, in reverse you'd want to: 1. define the long term goal, 2. define the in year goal, 3. what won't you do this year, 4. break down into monthly, 5. setup your daily schedule to focus on the monthly chunks, 6. daily ensure you are saying no per step 3.
I'd like to add a thing as a maker and that's the deep work sessions. I had pretty much the same thing that Shaan suggested, two session and a break. However, I switched single 6 hours session with pomodoro technique. No notifications, or calls, nothing. There is the Zen music in the background. I found single long deep works sessions more efficient for a few years, because when you're done, you're done. Your actual break is now, not the launch break. You have 18 hours to jump on the next task, more refreshing, more relaxed way to work. Recommend this everyone. Cheers.
I wasn't financial free until my 40’s and I’m still in my 40’s, bought my third house already, earn on a monthly through passive income, and got 4 out of 5 goals, just hope it encourages someone's that it doesn’t matter if you don’t have any of them right now, you can start TODAY regardless your age INVEST and change your future! Investing in the financial market is a grand choice I made.
{}That's true I know Barymoer. I met him at a conference in New York in 2022 where he introduced us to his business strategy, he helped me cover my student loans with ease and so many more to be mentioned
😂 I still remember your saying about cows vs lions ! My daughter heard it on the drive. To school ( has been calling me a cow since 😂) vs my wife who is the lion or better lionesses Me being a GP ( family physician). Working long endless. Hours And wife running ecomm from home. ( v small business ) but still essentially equalling what I am making with less hours and more Breaks ! Love this concept Thanks 👊🏾
I've heard all the content in this video before. But the way you present them with such clarity is what makes it valuable to me. Thank you so much Shaan!
Liked this format episode, 15-20min of tactical insights. Personally, what works for me is writing the same goal every day in a notebook to remind me. I've heard and seen others do this as well.
@@MyFirstMillionPod Ever consider Graham Weaver as a pod guest? I learned tons of goal setting from his content. 1m followers on tiktok, PE firm founder, Stanford Professor, talks a lot about goal setting, mindset, etc Synergies for both parties: deal flow vs learning about PE exits, sourcing vs becoming an operator for PE, Comparable audience size, etc
I'd spend 3 months publishing 30+ blog posts/ break downs / deep dives on startups that I find ambitious/interesting. At the end of that, you'll know which of the 30 companies you think is most interesting, and you'll likely be able to get a job there because after they see your content
I love this - i love objective key results - because it gives me moonshot thinking. Am gonne try a model where I put OKR’s into your triangle! Its almost the same but just the visualisation like that helps!!!
Best timing Shaan. I’m building an agency, have set my goal for 10k a month by Q3 2024 and am at the stage of hiring. This part scares me cause I’m used to doing everything myself. Any advice? TIA
The discomfort commitment is so powerful to really start growing. Thanks for the frame works though. I like the simple structure from Asana which seems to be a monthly OKR framework stil but easier to communicate and handle. The one thing I still find hard is this: persistence in your doing is only helpful if you go in the right direction. We say: we commit for x years to do yz. But we assume that if we just keep doing it will workout. Like mr. Beat does RUclips for 5 years without seeing any positive trend on views etc. I believe we ignore all the people who have followed this rules and found themself stuck and miserable after the years. So my take is: plan and stick to it but review your own assumptions regularly and not follow blind your commitment for years.
Shaan's framework for ruthless focus is spot on. To add, setting 'Floor goals' can be even more effective when paired with 'Control Variables'-specific, daily actions that directly influence your goal, turning abstract targets into concrete plans. It's like setting the GPS before you start driving.
My question is should someone go towards getting an Education and a Career and put Entrepreneurship to the side, or go all in on Entrepreneurship at a young age.
Great video Can you make a video on starting a com business.? A very granular detailed step-by-step video on building an e-com business. Example step 1 create LLC. Step 2 obtain EIN, step 3 articles of incorporation step 4 create bank account step 5 secure domain, step6 build website etc.. which steps would you delegate out?
Shaan here - rate this ep for me 1 to 10! (reply here)
12. You rock!

This mini-masterclass just shifted my mindset and gave me the ammo I need to increase my intensity, pretty much your words. Thank you Shaan.
Lots of people tell me to focus on an idea, that I can't do them all. Thank you for directing how to focus on a goal, Shaan! Let's go!
I am going straight into my flow state and I’ll hit you up on x with my fleshed out comments after great pod you got me to jump from podcast to RUclips for this one

Hello, I’m 37 and I am not worth much yet , please help me out. Bought my first house last month and I can't seem to make any other smart investment.
Can you recommend a guide for me?
I knew someone would mention Chrissy Barymoer, he is perfect in helping beginners grow. I would not recommend anyone else.
{}That's true I know Barymoer. I met him at a conference in New York in 2022 where he introduced us to his business strategy, he helped me cover my student loans with ease and so many more to be mentioned
Wow, Chrissy Barymoer has really made name for himself, He is my family’s portfolio manager

Best video I’ve personally seen on this channel. Short, straight to the point, super valuable, condensed. Thank you Shaan 🙏

Ruthlessly focusing to building my channel, hopefully it turns out well!
came from Twitter:)
I love the idea of the Maker schedule. I think that will 10x my productivity. Thanks Shaan 🎉
If you were a recent college graduate and looking to find a non engineer job at a startup where would you look and what would you do?

My GOSH, This is thousands of bucks worth of gold in less than 20 minutes! 👏🏽👏🏽 Love from East Bmore!
Great video. Going to share 😊
Love the pictures.
One small critique would be keeping the board visible even when writing on it.
I love this - i love objective key results - because it gives me moonshot thinking. Am gonne try a model where I put OKR’s into your triangle! Its almost the same but just the visualisation like that helps!!!
honestly, this 18minutes really useful for me uncle Shaan :)
Shaan P for President
Shaan, you're like my digital big brother. Nuggets of wisdom all the time
9 -nine /10-ten great breakdown.
Added other elements not usually talked about: Self-Awareness...etc
Best timing Shaan. I’m building an agency, have set my goal for 10k a month by Q3 2024 and am at the stage of hiring.

"You can do anything, but you can't do everything."

More of this please 😃

Excellent!!!! Needed to hear that and love how you make the complicated simple...thats talent!
The "pyramid of clarity" is an awesome concept!
Making mine right now!
Thank you for your wisdom, Master Shann! 🙏
I know all about the puddle of tears. That's my life right now.
This is awesome. Definitely goes against the point of focus but I would love to buy a children’s style illustration book of these concepts.
hahah
This is so valuable. Laser focused. Podcast & paid advertising. Nothing else. Working until I get Shaan and Sam on the pod.
Needed to hear this today!
Love it! Thank you, Shaan! Truly inspiring.
Great stuff!
The master of frameworks - could be a monthly special!
im here for these short coaching sessions, so fire

yes - the floor goal should be one that you can reach just by basic block-and-tackling of the normal stuff
Love this. Will re-watch and take down the notes.
Thanks Shaan, great ep.
Creatively fulfilling cash machine sums it all up! I love that
This was fire 🔥
Shaan this is a 10! Thank you for bestowing this information.
Super impactful! Thanks for taking the time
Amazing Art illustrations to explain and teach @Shaan..

On an unrelated note. I just got a 12 inch subwoofer installed in my truck and that intro sounded amazing!

I think you flipped the Maker and Manager labels at 4:32
He acknowledged that and drew a little reverse arrow in the video.
Thank you Uncle Shaan 🙏🏽

Just came to sub from the pod.
Thanks Shaan! Where/how does marketing fit into the pyramid? 4th group in addition to people product & $?
Fantastic video for the chronically distracted. 😁

Shaan’s eyes on this episode are wild lol but great content though
Great video, cheers
SMART goals
Great episode. A lot to think about here.
Heard it many times. Hard to do. (Focus One Course Until Successful)
Shaan - While you're reaching out to find guests, you should ask Daniel Priestley. I heard him say on another pod that he'd love to be a guest on MFM.
Thanks Uncle Shaan!
Sales pros: how are you setting up your days to limit distractions, Prospect, and hold meetings?
This was insightful. Thank you
Great video! Why not also post video on spotify?

Outstanding video 🙌 it’s a 10
Zuckerberg's laser focus had me laughing like Sam. lol!
Love from India
Love professor Shaan!! 🤓
Thanks Shaan! Valuuue
That hoodie though 🤌
Powerful episode
In 4. Minute you tell to be a maker instead of a manager but on your sketch this is shown switched. So which is right?
This was gold.
Sometimes less is more (quality vs quantity)
These are great
Time to level up!
Amazing ❤❤❤
Shiny object syndrome is real
