Wore my babies all the time. Didn't have so many choices over 40 years ago, wish we would have had some of those. I did discover slings for toddlers and it was a game changer. Just made a big look out of denim and wore it over my shoulder. Really came in handy at a Homesteader Festival we attended for a few days (yes, we had them even back then) and could just pop my youngest in and out as she wished - it was great and I never used a stroller again.
Thanks for this video. I just ordered a baby wrap. I’m due in about 4 weeks with my baby boy and I’m hoping to be able to baby wear him while I do my homestead stuff. ❤
It's interesting. Im Nigerian, and baby wearing is as normal as wearing clothes. Nothing special. Just an ankara wrapper and strap the baby to the back. It's normal. I didn't know it was novel here.
I'm not sure if the wrapper you mention is different than in Uganda. But, my family stayed there for about a month when my 3rd was a baby. The 9yr old Ugandan girls could wear her just fine, but my American butt just wasn't big enough to wear her the same way. I need(ed) the stability that these fancy American carriers provide. But I'm still so jealous of how they could take literally any piece of cloth & tie a baby to their back with it (we even saw a towel used at 1 point!). I'm sure you also have such an amazing skill & culture ❤️
I wish I was still in this stage of life. ❤
Same here, our oldest is almost 18 and our youngest is 6 and I LOVED wearing my babies, you'll never regret holding them as long as you can! ❤
You 'wore' him for 9 months, so it's the most natural thing in the world!! LOVE Y'ALL, JILLIE GIRL!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
