Oh how we all long for the day that Bricky just VANISHES from life, only to emerge 6 month later, malnourished, pale and exhausted, but with 3hr long video of Factorio. You know it's coming.
I played the demo for about 45mins then just bought the game. I’ve made it to 100% Achievements and waiting for the next update. It is fun and relaxing
Planet Crafter is definitely going on my wishlist as someone who has just hit their 500th hour in Satisfactory. I will say to be careful with Satisfactory because once I make a new save, it's like I time traveled 100 hours foreword in time and now I have a sick factory. Plus the devs are the most communicative I've seen in a game ever, and very clearly wants to make a game with the community, more than for it.
Satisfactory and Factorio are both the kind of game that work very similarly to actual drugs. You boot them up on a Friday evening for some “fun” and suddenly it’s 2 am on a Monday and you’re trying to get your newest Bus line set up for that last push to the next tech tier an-
The premise is kind of reverse Satisfactory. Instead of making the planet worse, you're trying to make things better. The gameplay loop looks very similar, though- but not too similar, I think, given said premise flip.
@@topazs.5492 From what bricky says the biggest difference is the rate of automation. In satisfactory, you will only manually extract resources for like, 20 minutes before you get (portable) miners going
Honestly the demo kinda left me unimpressed. Idk why then, some months later, I decided to pirate it. Then I binged it for days. Whenever I had free time, I'd get on this game. Then I bought it on steam when it went on sale. I'm currently waiting for the next update.
I had just picked up your Planet Crafter playlist this week! Glad to see there is a fourth episode to watch now. Always a good time to watch someone else having a good time.
could you imagine if our dangerous mission space programs consisted of death row prisoners who are given high levels of training to terraform a planet. the idea of this game alone has me interested.
I had the same experience with Mon Bazou over a year ago. It seemed like an interesting game, had overwhelmingly positive reviews, so I bought it. I thought I got scammed when I first started playing it, but after about ten hours I was absolutely obsessed. Making a maple syrup empire, growing weed and potatoes, raising favor with your mom and neighbors, building your car, all of these are extremely slow processes that eventually snowball into this addictive loop, and at some point Mon Bazou was the only thing I could think about
This is why I love your videos bricky. You play a game, you like it, you share it with us. There’s some genuine passion behind these videos and all of us can feel it. Far too uncommon these days on RUclips. Keep up the good work man !
Calling this game "not yet ready" doesn't fully describe its condition. The word I'd use here is... well, _raw._ Idk what it'll be in 5 years, but I'm not in the mood to stay and find out. And I wonder if the developer is in the mood for that themselves?
I love Bricky's random DRG references lmfao. I'm surprised he's never done a video on it. Though I guess there's very little about this game that hasn't been praised up and down already
Hey Bricky ;), there is this new game called Shatterline, a dev-published call of duty like game with an interesting pve rogue-like mode. The devs are very connected to the community and take advice from us very often. It would be amazing if you tried it out and if you think the game is worth your while, even make a video about it. The devs deserve all the support in the world and support from a big content creator would mean a lot since they do not have a publisher. I hope to see you in a future video about it. Anyways keep up the good work, been really loving the content you’ve been putting out lately, lots of love
Bricky, as someone that plays factorio, if you do not have alarms set to remind yourself to eat, sleep, etc. you will play for 13 hours consecutively without noticing.
The 'piss orange sky' actually does make somewhat sense, it could be assumed that solar winds have stirred up large amounts of the planets orange dust.
I love how if you've been partaking in both Bricky's personal content and Adeptus Ridiculous for the past year and a half or so you can FEEL exactly when Bricky started playing DeepRock Galactic. No joke. I dare you, find it for me. I already know when that was!
Amphibians to Mammals is a GRIND, but it teaches you to re-organize and spread OUT. It's a Terra-former game, meaning all zones need the love. Quickly becoming one of my favorite games at 120 hours into it. The discovery of the ancients who came before you was the icing on the cake.

I love Planet Crafter and this video definitely helped me to put it into words why I do, despite how rough it is around the edges. I think in essence, Planet Crafter is almost more like an incremental game. It gives you that dopamine boost that something like Cookie Clicker does, except in a game you can run around in.
Gotta say: that stiff right arm stuck in the corner of your view does give me a bit of nostalgia for early 3d fps games. Barely booping a giant fuckoff gun up and down as you casually mow down hordes of.. shittily programed enemies... ah the good old days

Someone get Dunkey on the line! Assuming they're not already spoken for, they seem like the exact project BigMode was made for! Loved the video Bricky! I passed over this game previously, but I gotta add it to my wishlist now!
Great video, very well said. I got hooked on this game when it first hit Early Access, and eagerly await each update. Planet Crafter is the ultimate time sink, because you easily get lost in the flow of it all. The fact it is being made by a 2-person team is mind blowing.
The thing about Planet Crafter, is that there is *never* a time in the game where you are not achieving something, unless you run out of power (which only happens if you place too many power consumption items). There's always a way out (deconstruct whatever you just crafted, or make more power generators if you have available materials). So, anytime you are trying to do anything in the game, you are making progress -- Heat, Pressure, O2 are all going up and so is the TI by extension. So, are you walking around gathering materials? TI is going up and making progress towards unlocking stuff that you can build to get *more* TI. Are you exploring a ship? Are you just walking from place to place? During all of that, you are still making passive progress. The entire game is all about "how can I make that passive progress, Faster?" But the Food and Hunger mechanics are there to make sure you can't just sit AFK in your base and exploit the passive progress without at least some work. Now, later on when you get things like the water collector or water purifiers, and when you get enough Food Growers that you no longer need Space Food, you can just check the game every 5-10 minutes, but progress would be extremely slow without building new stuff because of the way the progress meters actually work. It uses the Metric System, like you start out with TI then you get to kTI, then MTI, then GTI. Sure, ticking up by 0.50 kTI seems fast... until you hit 1 MTI and the meter stops moving all the sudden because it takes 20 seconds to get 0.01 MTI. Also, yes, the rockets stack but they give you diminishing returns so you can't just launch 100 of each rocket and get 50 MTI/sec from just rockets, it doesn't work like that. After about 3-5 rockets it really slows down the gains from each rocket, and at that point the only reason to do them is to get more Uranium/Iridium if you're running low on it. Guess what I'm trying to say is that the game _wants_ to give you reasons to work towards building stuff you just unlocked, and the game makes sure that you won't be using obsolete tech because each tier of items is made in such a way that there's (almost) never a reason to use outdated tech with a few exceptions: 1). Windmills: I use these as markers so I don't get lost as much, marking hard to find stuff, like caves. They're tall and easily seen from a distance and only cost 1 iron. 2). T1 Solar Panels pre-Ore Extractor, because the T2s require aluminum which can be a bit scarce until you get the first ore extractor. Some players complain about how power plants and machines can be placed anywhere in the world, and how that is unrealistic, but I like that mechanic: It removes a lot of busywork of messing with wiring and fiddling with placement, and/or cluttering your base up with lots of ugly machines. I still find myself building machines near my base when I don't need to out of sheer habit but I've been getting better with that lately. It's a very refreshing change from other games of having to worry about having stuff placed in the right places. I think in TPC, the only things that you need to care about where they are placed are the mapping screens (since they only show you a map centered on the screen's location), and anything having to do with water (because, well, duh, you need to put these on the surface of water), and the ore extractor (different locations give you different ores). The rest? plop it down whereever. Make a small shed in various locations and stick heaters and stuff in them to make them an o2 rest stop and a box to store heaters in, lol.
Since this review, the game has snowballed in great gameplay mechanics, all of which are paced well and feel both insurmountable yet you are comforted by the fact you learned how to get to that point and overcome it to. And the story is awesome, I won't get into specifics, but it's really weird and cool.
I'm a couple of days late but the biggest compliment I can give is that I can see the clear inspiration from Nakey Jakey but you're your own person and you're entertaining. Good shit man :]
Hey Bricky, if you liked this game, you may like a game called Genesis Alpha One. It’s a space sim/base builder where you create your own ship and fend off aliens and such. You can even go planetside to gather materials. It’s not exactly the same, but I think you would like it.
I hope Bricky plays Space Engineers someday. It literally became my daytime job when service work was on hold during the beginning of the pandemic. 8-12h a day of gaming for two weeks stright xD It's my favourite survival game of all time
Awesome vid, you convinced me. Never played Subnautica, but I have hundreds of hours in No Man’s Sky. While the game mechanics (minus the terraformation index) may not be the most ‘original’ thing in the world, the fact that it was made by 2 people makes me want to support it even more, idk why. That website was so wholesome, and I really hope the devs are enjoying all the positive attention their game has gotten. And hopefully they make bank from it lol

@@TheLegomann97 That game is insane, my first LP is 100 hours, I did tons of wrong, got to build the Dyson Sphere but could see how to improve a lot, my second LP was about that too but way more performant, still room for improvement, my third one is 70 hours and running, and I can see room for improvement.
There's no challenge other than you wanting to improve the processes, it's bizarre how good it feels.
Also the end result of every LP is VERY PRETTY and SATISFYING.
1:50 I hear rock and stone, I scream rock and stone. Rock and Stone.
When this game released i was curious, but what sold me was the visible planetary progression, nothing more. If the progression is satisfying it gets a pass for me and i was not dissapointed even in its early stage and it is rough for now. I stopped playing because i don't want the to exhaust myself before the full release and dip into it again in maybe 4-6 month. Definitely a game to keep watch!
Planet Crafter: “hey can I copy your homework?”
Subnautica: “sure just change it up a bit”
I really hope to see the day we see Bricky give his views on Deep Rock Galactic... he really seems to be digging it from all those Rock n Stones XD
As a Planet Crafter player... this is so true it is addictive
did i hear a ..... ROCK AND STONE?!
Rock and stone in the heart!

Small indie airships conquer the skies. Watch as a crewmate gets hit with a cannonball through the hole in the armor and think "man i shoulda added more bunks" cause guess what YOU design the ships!!!
The Factory must grow.
After this video I REALLY need one on Factorio from you. It may grip you, but it grips you for a reason, and the insane polish on the game is just *chef's kiss*
Who else would watch him play Factorio and Satusfactory?
1:51 DID I HEAR A ROCK AND STONE?
Can’t wait for Bricky to fall down the factorio rabbit hole
Oh how we all long for the day that Bricky just VANISHES from life, only to emerge 6 month later, malnourished, pale and exhausted, but with 3hr long video of Factorio.
You know it's coming.
I played the demo for about 45mins then just bought the game. I’ve made it to 100% Achievements and waiting for the next update. It is fun and relaxing
Don't know which came first but this feels like Terraforming Mars: The First Person Experience
You boot them up on a Friday evening for some “fun” and suddenly it’s 2 am on a Monday and you’re trying to get your newest Bus line set up for that last push to the next tech tier an-
My 1st thought of this game was: "Satisfactory".... Legit looks exactly the same but with 40% of the things in the planet trying to kill you.
It really does. I might give it a try though.
"I haven't played No Mans Sky"
"Similar to games you played: NMS, 32 Hrs"
I remember playing the demo for this a while ago. It was a lot of fun! I'm curious to see what the game holds now!

Hi everyone, were gonna get right into it! "tHiS ViDeO iS sPoNSoReD bY!!!"
I had the same experience with Mon Bazou over a year ago. It seemed like an interesting game, had overwhelmingly positive reviews, so I bought it. I thought I got scammed when I first started playing it, but after about ten hours I was absolutely obsessed. Making a maple syrup empire, growing weed and potatoes, raising favor with your mom and neighbors, building your car, all of these are extremely slow processes that eventually snowball into this addictive loop, and at some point Mon Bazou was the only thing I could think about
Plz to a video on DRG

The funny thing for me is, when I got planet crafter i found out how great the mechanicus ost is and well... A new core memory
1:13 makes me happy knowing that Bricky doesn't have HOI4 and therefore is a fully functional human being.
The 'piss orange sky' actually does make somewhat sense, it could be assumed that solar winds have stirred up large amounts of the planets orange dust.
So I suppose this is it. The end of Bricky videos, consumed by the time machine that is Factorio.
It was a good run, RIP buddy.
blue sky makes clouds, clouds make rain, rain makes corn, corn makes whiskey, and whiskey makes my baby, feel a little tipsy.
I love how if you've been partaking in both Bricky's personal content and Adeptus Ridiculous for the past year and a half or so you can FEEL exactly when Bricky started playing DeepRock Galactic. No joke.
I dare you, find it for me.
I already know when that was!
1:48 the real golden goose of this channel will be the drg video that hope to god comes out at some point
I would love to see a follow-up video for Planet Crafter when they add in the cooperative mode. They have added a ton since this video
Really? You can get to mammals? I thought they throttled it because they hadn't developed that far
Factorio: The factory must grow
Planet Crafter: The planet must grow
PLEASE FACTORIO VIDEO
PLEEEEEEEEEEAAASE
also Timberborn is overwhelmingly Positive (95%) and really satisfying when you manage to survive each drought, btw. at 7:36 you convinced me to check it out, thanks
Genuinely can't wait to see Bricky play Satisfactory. We will never see that man again afterwords.
Same lol
8:22 my man you need to look into rimworld. Game is sitting at 98% overwhelming positive. Has a metric shitton of deep and complex mechanics and it was developed by just one dude.
Compared to Satisfactory this game has two advantages:
1. You can see the world change around you.
2. This game can run on potatoes.
Bricky's in-video ads are the only YT's I don't skip through
I know it is early access but dude, this is one of early access game that I really looking forward to. The end goal was so satisfying and also all of these crafting make sense once you learned that there was a story about it.
Yeah, I could feel that into my soul what you mean by *_"It has to be by the Balls."_*
Barely booping a giant fuckoff gun up and down as you casually mow down hordes of.. shittily programed enemies... ah the good old days
ultimate drug : playing factorio for the first time... when space age dlc releases. oh my god i envy you bricky
Factorio is gonna rend and shred this man's entire qualia supply, one by one.
"While I haven't played no man's sky..."
Literally 20 seconds later:
Games you've played: *No man's sky*
I don't like that you are blocking a good portion of the screen.. but I love that you're excellent at explaining the depth of this game. Thank you for the excellent explanation + Review. and detailed info, and knowledge of the creators.
Yesss , i love this game and i have been so focused on it the last week its crazy. I stared it months ago then got distracted and came back after more updates. So far i am at the keys but i wont spoil anything for anyone. The way i can create and see the changes firsthand both initially and long tern keep me coming back for more. Its a great game to play on stream because it offers hours of game play and peaceful entertainment.
ah bricky. my guy, you've been factorio'd. welcome!
Thank you for describing it as a dopamine drip. Were it not for that, I would have fallen right into the jaws of the hungry beast. But you made me see the truth, so I'll keep my distance (and my mental health).
bricky here is all you need to know about factorio it will ruin your life here's a few quote and a reminder it's also known cracktorio
"like any hard drug you can go that's fun and by the time you realize your in the deathspiral it's too late for me"
Someone get Dunkey on the line!
Guess what I'm trying to say is that the game _wants_ to give you reasons to work towards building stuff you just unlocked, and the game makes sure that you won't be using obsolete tech because each tier of items is made in such a way that there's (almost) never a reason to use outdated tech with a few exceptions:
Topic of the story: best prison sentence ever
I wasnt sold till I saw the planet actually terraforms as you progress. I love that kinda shit where the game world changes based on your actions.
It's okay Bricky... Satisfactory and Factorio will eventually be making you sing "The Factory Must Grow".
OH SHOOT THE SUNS UP!
It’s not exactly the same, but I think you would like it.
after valheim im not shocked that good games can be made by 2 people instead of an entire company behind it lol
And hopefully they make bank from it lol
dude im hooked..
i played the demo for 1h and insts bought it.
this game just has it.
it is so simple but also so rewarding and enjoying and fun to build and explore and then do even more of it to get more and see more and...
aaah so good!
I'm sold, even now I see this one year later after the launch of the video I'm buying it now
The editing is so hilarious, keep up the good work!
Bricky is just a little guy who has to terraform an entire planet and that planet has him by the balls.
this is the kind of game that I hoped something like Wrought Flesh to ever grow and evolve into... I'm a sucker for these "simplistic" graphics that still leave room for your imagination... the fact that 1 guy even created that 3D engine from the ground up it makes it even more fascinating, it still has potential
"Best survival game I've ever played"
