Ok. This is the First of your videos I've seen and you gained a subscriber in the first 30 seconds. I have comments in two categories: 1- I was a museum rigger on traditional sailing ships. I trained in high angle rescue in the fire department. And I was a professional climber for a tree service. Knots were, literally, my life. 😬.... I love this hitch. Very creative. And your demonstration of the tying and use was very clear and easy to understand. 2- as a user of the internet... I'm never disappointed in people's ability to miss the point. If the introduction to the video, with it's heartfelt music and dramatic reenactment of what happens to thousands of innocent watermelons yearly, doesn't show you the value of this.... Well, I grieve for our future. Well done!
Hey thanks! I appreciate you taking the time to comment. For me, the best thing about making knot videos is being able to comment with folks who have experience like yours. Thanks again!

how to carry two twenty litter water bottles on motorcycle/bike? with ropes only... also the the pressure should not be on the seat or tank. .... what is the max number of 20L water bottles can be carried? without making extra iron box
Seriously, this is the knots/ropes equivalent of those ridiculous chocolate sculptures and cake castles made by expert pastry-chefs & bakers. People out here really thinking this is about saving the damn watermelons!
I totally agree with you Mr Leon. I just posted a post to another person who doesn’t seem to get what this legion is doing. Have you seen he’s automatic inline truckies hitch Mr Leon ?. Brilliant is the 1 word i think of when i talk about the way he ties that knot. Cheer’s…
Thank you, just and understandably shown everything you need to repeat, used for such goals by a barrel node, but this method has its own advantages and one of them is "it's beautiful ..". Of course this advantage is not the only one, 😀 Thanks to Comrade)
RFDave , the whole thing is about “KNOTS” , it’s a knot channel , the object is to show you a way to tie down particular scenarios in their different applications. I think he brings some great knots to the table for people like you for instance to learn how to tie such knots he introduces in his knot videos RFDave. So sit up & pay attention , you might learn something. Have you seen he’s other knot videos? , the INLINE AUTOMATIC TRUCKIES HITCH is a particularly a great way he shows you how to tie it. I can’t remember his channel off hand , but if you ever get the chance to watch him tie that knot , advisable to do so as it is a great knot to have in your arsenal of knots RFDave. Cheer’s….

Awesome!!👍🏻 Классно получилось, но слишком заморочно ради одного абуза.. а каждый так перематывать устанешь.. 😄😅 это в исключительных случаях применимо.. 🤔
I'm trying this out on a basketball because I ride my bike to the parks and don't want to have to carry it underneath my arm. The concept is practible...
I'm probably not going to have time to truss up the watermelon that I'm stealing from my neighbor's garden before the barking dog alerts him and he comes out the backdoor with his shotgun. However, it is a cute concept.
Anyone having a laugh is foolish. If half the delivery drivers my kitchen sources employ knew this type of care and shit, 5-15% of our received product would actually yield something. You're 1st class, First Class Amateur
🤔🧐 what if your line is too elastic and crater/ pothole comes outta no where then the laws of physics and inertial energy take over and watermelon, harness and all bounces up and down the SPLAT! goes melon anyway just a thought
Clearly that's when you construct a lattice below as an inertial dampener of sorts. Or just...y'know, put it in the cab wedged behind a seat. Either seems entirely practical.
So much work to carry a single watermelon in the back of the truck, friend, congratulations on the intelligence in making the knots, I think it's really cool and I admire the knots, but this is ridiculous! Kkkkk
it's quite interesting, but I think it's very unlikely that anyone would want to waste their time making this knot to tie a single watermelon to the back of their truck.
The melon industry doesn't want people to know this, I hope you stay safe.
Big Melon smh

What Tall Ships did you sail on? I sailed on the LADY WASHINGTON and the HAWAIIAN CHIEFTAIN. This guy would make a Master Rigger in my book.

Finally, I've been waiting for this video for years now
This will be a great way to display the heads of my enemies. Thank you.
How has slaying went

This is a great hitch and has many applications. I used it with a tennis ball and two shoelaces and my dog is very happy with his new fetch toy.
That's a brilliant idea, thanks, my dog will be very pleased. I'll give it a go tomorrow.
In Australia 🇦🇺 we just sit it on the back seat 😂🍻🤘
Can also be used to secure a counter weight stone or for a stone anchor in a survival situation. Thanks
This'll definitely help the economy in some way or another
I always transport single watermelons in back of my truck like that! That was the solution I was looking for 😂

The number of people commenting that don't see the application of this knot beyond the watermelon astonishes me....

like what?
you're hilarious dude. "10's of watermelon are lost per year." lol.
nice video and technique.
But will it work on a cantaloupe?
Amazing!
Next hallowe'en I'm going to do a pumpkin like this 👍🏼
I'd love one of these with a quick open/close method to transport a football to and from the field.

Takes too long. I usually cut the melon in half, then put the flat sides down so it won’t roll ! ! !
Ah, a fan of Frank from Epicurious I see.
Hmm, I’ve had issues securing a 20lb propane tank in the truck bed with ratchet straps. I could use this I guess.
Where in the truck bed do you like to place it? I’ll get to work on a knot for it.
@@First_Class_Amateur no big preference. The bed has a tie down loop in each corner near bed height and side rails with adjustable loops. Honored!!
IDK why youtube recommended this for me. Not complaining. Good video.
have you considered cloth?
How does the watermelon feel about rope burn?
You just solved my transporting a handpan on the back of a trike bike problem. Thank you!!
I've been around the world, to three county fairs and a goat roping contest. But I've never seen the likes of this!!! Most interesting....

hmm, yes, watermelons
Your voice keeps reminding me to mr Pink from reservoir dogs XD

Next - how to tie down all your MnM so they don't fly around in your car.

Bravo Monsieur , ce nœud trouvera sa place dans le milieu de la pêche .Merci beaucoup. Best regards from France
Photo bomb foot for fun. Gotta love those rascals
So why not put out safely in the cab of the truck
This would be real useful for carrying a coconut shell water container or an ostrich egg water container or any container for that matter. Thanx
Could two swallows using a strand of creeper held under the dorsal guiding feathers do this to carry a coconut? Asking for a friend.
@@iniduoHoudini My advice is simple.........leave the birds alone.
What is the hitch called?
That dramatic statement about lost watermelons really caught me off guard. Nearly choked on a ham sandwich while laughing like an idiot.
Thanks for sharing this!
What about a bag or a fruit box or a net?
When you don't want your watermelon floating away.
great stuff! thanks for sharing
Put it on the car seat perhaps?
"I carried a watermelon" -- Baby
Puts o cara é uma máquina de fazer nós se louco muito profissional 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🇧🇷
THANK YOU FOR THE EDUCATION
That's pretty cool, I dont think I want it hanging in the sun for to long.
I will stick to my own method, " hold it or lose it kid"
I wonder, how do you bring a bunch of eggs home from the grocery store? ;) JK, you have a great channel with a lot of practical solutions.
How to secure with a very precise rope
Ok, I take a bag😂
LMAO!!! Uh, I never really thought about it.
I feel like I wasted time learning how long it takes to rope a watermelon. Nifty, but I feel like it’s a waste of time for a watermelon.
I'm trying this out on a basketball because I ride my bike to the parks and don't want to have to carry it underneath my arm. The concept is practible...
Scrolling thru... I thought thumbnail was a ninja turtle. 🐢
Me, an intellectual: **puts watermelon on the floor of the passenger seat**

I use a small net. Done
That's why you should buy square watermelons.
Who puts an unsecured watermelon in the back of a pickup?
Now you can tie eggs.. LOL
Strap it to your passengers seat with the seat belt!
Great timestamp

This is how I tie down Big Girls in the back of my truck..
I had a girlfriend that this could really have helped her...

If so many water melons are damaged whilst rolling around in the back of a pickup, why do the stupid drivers not put the melon in the cab ???
Now apply the sling video to this watermelon
жаль сезон арбузов давно кончился! с новым годом!
Or... You can just put it inside the car...
Nothing a helmet law can't fix.
Good~!
Leave no mellon behind!
Do it slowly if you would like to teach people how to do it!
If you can’t tie it after watching this video, you can’t tie it.
If needed, you can click on the video options to slow the video all the way down to 0.25x speed (playback speed).
Nah, I'd either eat it or use a bag.
I put the watermelon on the passenger side seat and the Wife in the back
khaby lame: just put it in a tote bag. then you can hang/tie the tote anywhere
Bugger that .. I'll have the bananas instead...
it's quite interesting, but I think it's very unlikely that anyone would want to waste their time making this knot to tie a single watermelon to the back of their truck.
Brilliant knob, silly reason
🇨🇦👍🏻🍉
I guess You like bondage kink :D You are best dude
?
ooh, kinky~
Ah yes, all art is quite useless.
Why not just keep the single watermelon inside the truck this was useless
This man really knows how to use his “melon” 🤣😎🫥🫡
You just solved my transporting a handpan on the back of a trike bike problem. Thank you!!
