Great Vid, the only thing I'd recommend is taking the larger part of the filter cover off (just 1 bolt under that V6 plate. Makes it easier to get to the filter. Also 15/16th socket for the air filter. 1/2" for the oil pan nut. Thanks!
I have a 2020 limited X same engine as this....... Pentastar 3.6 liter V6........pretty sure your cap says to use Ow20 not 5w20.........FYI...take that hat off too when taking out filter, 10mm bolt in the middle and it pops off much easier. Use new oil for your o rings to lubricate not old oil.
To remove the filter cover it’s not a 1 inch socket it’s a 15/16. Didn’t have neither one and ran to Pep Boys three times to get the right one. Bought a 1 inch then bought a three-quarter inch and finally I found out it was a 15/16. 1 inch almost stripped it.
Thanks for the video This will be my first oil change on my 2019... how cool the filter is on the topside and not underneath and in some awkward place where you're guaranteed to get oil all over the place!
@@Gasolinegarage Awesome! Was way easier for me to get it out. Sadly last people who did my filter forgot to screw that top screw back in place. Oh well
It annoys me that so many automakers don't make the oil filter covers out of metal instead of plastic. Toyota is guilty of this too. I mean they're not using a traditional metal canister filter, so the least they could do is make a metal cover for the cartridge filter. I changed the plastic cover on my 4Runner for a metal one. Something that important on an engine needs better protection than just plastic.
Is that science based or your preference? I have usually used Castrol Edge with good good results when tested. In my Hyundai's, Pennzoil would require twice the additional oil as Castrol. I think Pennzoil is good oil just not ran in the Grande Cherokee yet. Thanks in advance.

Great video. My son was so disappointed in me for not changing my own oil. Now I can stand tall again!
As per GC use guide, for 3.6L engine FCA recommend to use API Certified SAE 0W-20 Engine Oil.
Thank you for the effort, great video!

It is 0w20. That was the first thing I noticed the moment I started this video.

Yes it’s not too bad at all
God bless ya bud! That screw comes off the cover where the oil area. Way easier to get the filter out.
I’m gonna try that next time for sure

Good shhhhtuff!! A decent amount of money can be saved by watching and learning and changing your own oil.
Thanks a lot !
Thanks.
Last oil change was $86
I’m going to start doing it myself 😊
Why didn't you take the engine cover off?
Next time
Why not remove the engine cover?? one bolt and snap off. Waaaaay easier to reach the filter.
Yes you can do that but it can be done with it in place
That was awesome man those must have a high pressure oil pump? To have the filter up high like that?
Thanks a lot man !
I dont know what you consider high pressure but mine runs around 32 psi most of the time. Stomp on it and it runs up to 72 psi.
Have you always used Castrol Edge?
For many many years. …. Great oil
Nice job on this one!
Thank you
Nice will share with my Niece husband so he can do the oil change too.. Stay Bless Brother👍
Thanks a lot !
Hey hey my Friend 👋 just a rockin in to smash out and run the replay. I do wish ya all the bestest enjoy your weekend. 👍

Good call
Thank you so much! This was very helpful
No problem!
How you reset the oil % on dashboard
Going into the information Center and just hold the reset button on the steering wheel toggle through all the information until you find oil life
Read the manual
Why didn’t you pop the engine cover off!!!??? Wtf it’s one screw bra
Good job Dan Have a great weekend. 👍😃
Thanks a lot ! You too
Thanks for the VId!
good clear video
Thanks !
Great video thanks
Thanks !
Mine calls for 0w20. I prefer the Pennzoil Ultra Platinum, purest oil available.

Gracias
You should have RUclipsd this before you made your own video
Great stuff dan!!!
Thanks a lot ang !
24mm or 15/16. If ur going to make a video don't add to the ignorance
Sorry can’t read
Why do they have that stupid cover on top.... it’s not cool looking and hard to pull off, I would just leave the engine naked, without the cover
Tom Liu I agree I think companies do that to make it harder to work on the car to tell you the truth
Wrong oil for this motor. 🤦♂️
I'm much dumber for watching this
Thanks for watching
6 point socket. What size? Terrible video.
1 inch for the oil cover for the filter
