"you eat the scales?" lololol awesome vid jun! i agree, salt pepper skin on is the best, open flame or pan fried. what a fun morning!
Thanks Ish, yeah it taste really good
Even if it’s a year old, I can watch this over and over!
Such a fun morning!! Gotta do it again another time!
Yup, that was fun! Till next time
That was productive compared to our last trip! Good trip for you guys! Looking forward to the next Catch & Cook!
Yes, Vlad I'll see you on the next one
Omg, this video made me smile the whole time. Totally made my day! Thanks Jun!
Thanks!😁👍👍
Fun for all.
Not sure about eating scales, but I have to try now.
Thanks for quality videos that everyone can enjoy.
Thanks!
I cook all my fish like that hole just take out the guts skin and scales peel right off in one piece
Scales are the best part especially when you can get in really nice and crispy
That's what it's all about!!!! TIGHT LINES and SCREAMING DRAGS!!!!!
👍👍👍😁
I remember that old dude the owner of the Little Chihuahua he lives in his fixed up retired van as he was pretty cool. I hung out with him for about three days while I was out on the surf fishing after work
I wonder where he's at now days?
This is one of the best video I've ever seen! I love catch and cook at rivers and ocean...
Thanks
Your so positive in your outlook in life. keep up the good work buddy.
YOU DIDN'T SCALE THIS?! WE'RE EATING SCALES!!!!!! LOL That was funny! I guess I better give it a try!
Dude !!!!!
I really really enjoyed this video
Catch and eat lol
Good time and fun ... 😋
Awesome video! That looked like a long ass hike, but it paid off! Great job guys and gal!
Great vid....I know it's a couple years old but very cool to watch. Anyways, I use a Hi Low Rig....with two and three hooks. I was wondering if its better to use the same bait on all the hooks or would it make a difference using two or even three different baits?....i.e. Hook one, Sandworm Camo....Hook two, Motor Oil Grub....Hook three, Z Man Crusteaz chartreuse?
Thanks....great vids.
Hey bro I was wondering if you know where is that spot i been trying to go fishing 🎣 for perch but don’t know where to go if you don’t mind tell me where to go i fish for salmon know many spots but don’t know where to go for perches
Good vid Jun! Just subscribed. We use to catch some bull perch down in Port Aransas TX. Every few seconds. Must of caught atleast 50 between the family.
The foil steams the fish this way eat withsoy sauce and saute shalots...Next time Try with garlic salt and no foil its soooo good!!! Nice video guys!!
AWESOME DAY! WE TOTALLY NEED TO DO IT AGAIN !!!!!
Yes! Next time again
Man that was really cool! Really enjoyed this clip! Those perch are tasty thanks for sharing.
I'm cooking perch i caught this morning as I'm watching this
Love your vids. Ur enthusiasm is infectious! Thanks for cooking!
Redtails are delicious, aren't they? Happy to see your group having a fun, productive morning out on the beach! Never thought about leaving the scales on when I'm grilling up a fish but maybe I'll try it out now on a smaller perchy as an experiment :)
Yeah Patrick it was a fun day fishing. Yeah you should try leaving the skin on when you grill it, I'm telling you it's really good 😊
More Than Fishing so your saying you did scale it with Just the skin on? Or no scaling what so ever...i tried that on other fish with the scales on its very sharp.....and hard to eat......and it very dry....but I can peel the skin right off and it's Easier to eat just pure meat😀 So your saying Salt pepper no oil or butter?? And all the scales on?🤤🤤🤤 let me know cuz gotta try it
Haha yeah I'm thinking he meant to say "you don't need to _skin_ it"... but that you should still _scale_ it. Still, don't want to put words in Jun's mouth so we'll wait to see what he says.
I agree though on keeping the skin on. I do that with most fish I catch (perch, rockfish, greenlings, bass, trout, etc...) because it works for the way I cook them. But taking off the skin does reduce the amount of contaminants you potentially ingest so skin-off is a healthier way to eat.
Where's this at ? What beach and how to get there ?
Looks good Good eating 👍🏼
MyFishing Addictions, yes leave the skin and scales on and just put salt and pepper.
Jun, you crack me up to no end. You’re unbridled enthusiasm for fishing and simple joy for life is so entertaining and refreshing. One question: what the heck did you exactly say at 8:42?? 🤣
Awesome!
Great vid. Love your enthusiasm!!
Great meal ! Fish...then cook your fish by fire . Great job ! Hope you had some beers to wash it down. Don't forget the butter next time !
Great vid! Keep em rolling!
NO WAY! The world just got a lot smaller...Shirsei showed me the ropes when I first got my bow at Black Bowmen! Was Peanut the name of his dog? Awesome video!
This makes we wanna go fishing lol I love in Humboldt right next to the beach... Such good fishing
That looked good! Thanks for sharing.
Where did you go to get those perch, and what was tide like? Moon? Time of day? I've already been to Baker and Ocean Beach I caught a few small ones but no red tail
I fish OB, China, Baker, etc.. and actually pulled in a few nice redtails last Saturday. Perch schools (red tail and otherwise) tend to move around a lot so if you're on a flat beach like OB or Baker my advice would be to keep moving down the beach until you start hitting them; they move in a lot closer and feed more aggressively on an incoming tide as well.
Personally, I think you'll have much better luck fishing close to structure like rocks, piers, etc.. If you're local in SF a great place to get into some perch would be here (goo.gl/maps/5QNKUStnfrP2), here (goo.gl/maps/GB4xDsVTEKC2), and here (goo.gl/maps/BsDdmhTJMcA2). Fish a #4 hook with gulp sandworms, power grubs, or sandcrabs and cast out towards any structure you see. Perch school in these areas all the time. Lots of dinks, but there'll always be a slab or three hanging around. Tight lines and be safe!
That's the best grilled!I will do next time! thanks!
37 dislikes? Great video. Gets me pumped to do that with my family.
Great video + good fishing + nice friends = fun to watch.

Catch n eat right then makes it 10x tastier regardless.
Haha eating scales and eyes... u rock dude! Btw I caught a 13 inch perch yesterday cleaned left in frig overnight and just pan fry today. I left a little scale and it was crispy and tasted good. Meat a little mushy:(

Nice!!!
I would have never thought to eat a fish of that size without scaling it. Guess I'll give it a try.
Nice catch! Have you ever run into worms in the meat with these?
love your energy... bring beer next time
From now on, that's the only way I will ever pronounce "meanwhile" again.
