It’s not always what you know it’s sometimes who you know, and building relationships and not burning bridges has clear advantages in any business. Well done to both parties.
These are the video's I enjoy watching. Don't get me wrong, Weekly is awesome and love that too, but these videos gives us a fly on the wall type view of how Daniel run's his business and how his business mind works. And you can take a lot of the info away and apply it to your own work or business as Daniel said towards the end.
I think I have never met someone so enthusiastic, driven and real as Daniel, and I haven't even met the man. Truly inspirational and motivating to watch these videos. And mostly because he shares the (less glamorous) details that others tend to leave out. Hats off to Daniel
@@jibba771 would you believe I'm sat in my ashville jumper and didn't notice myself but regarding calling Daniel, Dan I've been watching for over two years and can say I feel he wouldn't have been offended by me calling him Dan. Alway so encouraging to see people growing their businesses honestly without resorting to scamming others. Wish you all the best, Daniel. You are a true role model to many out there. Keep up the good work you do.
I literally was thinking about you this am and imagined the bottle mixers....black truck with yellow bottles would be just awesome! well done Daniel. it must be an amazing feeling to have good friends like this it goes to show the kind of person you are Daniel.
14:20 Great and so refreshing to see a man with a plan making it happen . I live in leyland and I drive Hgv 1 where my love of the industry started with my dad buying and running his own mixers and tippers for RMC in the sixties and seventies . I watch you every week and you will be very proud of yourself and your team that you have built . Mega well done Dan . Another chapter in the story of Daniel Ashville Louisy 👍
Well done Dan & the Ashville Team. I enjoy your videos & haven't missed even a single episode. You're a source of inspiration, much love from Zimbabwe 🇿🇼.
Daniel, you really do use your RUclips channel to help people. No other channel that I’ve ever watched goes into so much detail, especially financial agreements, well done sir!!
Great to see the business expanding, as you say there are a number of factors that make this decision work, I’m sure we will see a tractor unit added to the fleet soon as well (we know you regretted selling the 2 you had prior, but at the time you did what you thought was right for the business. Hindsight is a wonderful thing and had you known the opportunities that you could have exploited you would have kept them) However you may not have been in a position to get these 5 units had you still had the 2 tractor & trailer units so it’s swings and roundabouts. Congrats Daniel, I’m looking forward to seeing where this takes the business and what further opportunities this gives you👍🇬🇧
Nice. The one on the far right is so box fresh it still has it delivery plastic protection on. I like the yellow tail gate. Watching your vids I know what a London door is. My friend drives a ridged body cargo lorry, he was surprised I knew about the door, cameras etc. I look forward to seeing the new lorries as I live locally to you.

What a brilliant video Daniel and The Team 👌. Been following you past few months and binge watch some of the older videos . I look forward to the video when you buy a Helicopter 🚁- Ashville Aviation 👊🏼
Volvo, good choice, fmx is very popular at the moment. Easy for us to work on. Ishift, best box on the market, computer controlled manual. Still in pdi spec. Seeing a few plastic tipper bodys coming in. Get a good r&m on them, good for years of work. Rental is a good bet at the moment.
Dude, this is another level! The deal you got is one thing but the business you have built is a whole other achievement. Not to mention the quality of the video. This is straight out of BBC, man! Keep it coming and good luck with your businesses! Oh and a very cool helicopter to cruise with! Take care!
Good deal to fair as your beating the long lead times that are still 6 to 12 months . And price is about RRP for a 8x4 tipper i work for a Renault trucks dealership we sell a lot of 8x4 to arragate inds and they are about 140k with wilcox or ppg bodies , cameras and paint . Same engine and running gear as Volvo trucks the Renaults .
Would probably have a better price deal with Renault Trucks by the way, which chassis and driveline are very similar - to say the least - the Volvo Trucks. The cab is different though, exterior and interior design are significantly different. Then it comes to detail option available or not on some models.
At 13:38 why are there 2 American Peterbilts there? Is someone a collector? The trucks you bought look nice although I am somewhat unfamiliar with what best suites UK operations. That rear suspension, is it a "single point"? By that I mean like a Mack Camelback, or a Hendrickson Walking Bean? Also what is up with the leaf spring on the second steering axle? It seems to have an unusual arch
I waited all week to watch two on a row!! Love this video, these are my favourite series. Wish Michael was featured making his hilarious comments. Well done Daniel 🎉 onwards & upwards, your strategic foresight is impressive.
Definitely makes the point that “Revenue” is massively different to “profit’. To many videos saying that they make X amount but that’s often just their sales or revenue not their profit.
Thanks, Brotha! your motivation for our people. The level you're operating on is top self. I'm impressed. I hope some day I have a construction company as large as yours. Keep the momentum going. God speed.
Pn23 Hhr is the one I seen coming down the m40 the outer week fully ashvilled black no blue cab with the new loading shovel bucket in it with the yellow ashville A on the end of the bucket 👌
Dan, you're born during a time where you can document your business in real time and have us watch you grow. Ashville is going to be super successful and grow tremendously because of this. I watch your videos because of the advice you give and hard work you put in and it can be applied to any business. Much love and gratitude 💯🤞⏲️✨️⬆️🚀
Did you take a look at the two electric 6×2 Volvo FE trucks on their fleet? (Just watched episode 141, you did see one of their E trucks on that visit) We see Fox's sister company Hurt trucks around our way, they took over Hurt in 2020. Pretty sure I've seen that Fox helicopter fly over our house, we're about 5 minutes flying time from Preston. It takes the air ambulance based at Blackpool Airport 5 minutes to reach us. That's according to the pilot when they landed in our local park a couple of months ago. 0:07
Seem a decent guy. Admire your honesty sharing the figures and costs, plus you bought some decent bits of kit, drivers that know there vehicles will appreciate you could have bought cheaper, but worse from a driving perspective. Well done you.
Congrats on the new trucks. Im surprised as to how much cheaper tippers are in the UK. In the north east US a 4 axle. 1 steer, 1 drop and 2 drives.(kw t990) is around 260k usd current market price.
Most plant and trucks are more expensive in US , I think the reason is you buy to keep and the dealers like profit. In uk we renew kit regularly Excavations are 30-40% cheaper
thanks for being open - it was fascinating to compare them to the price of tractors and combines in my other world. As an ex trucker automatic is a strange world - but will those have air ride? Tippers were the worst ride compared to artics!
