I know this is a very old video but I’m just another person here to say thank you for not only the accurate and easy-to-follow tutorial, but your great high energy and spirit! Marty, you really are one of a kind👍
My grandpa loves Fleetwood Mac and I’ve been playing guitar for about a year and my grandpa has never heard me play. I hope that when I play for him someday I can play something he loves like, Fleetwood Mac. Thanks you so much for these tutorials and I can’t wait to make my grandpa happy!
Verse : 5:02 C - G/B - Am7 - G/B - C Chorus 6:58 D/F# - G - D/F# - Em(x2) - C - sets you up for verse and then back into chorus low e low e low e low e a - can substitute high e for b for G and Em if you want
I have been playing guitar for 6 years now, and at this point I rarely have to look up how to play songs, being able to decipher most tunes by ear. I got into a fingerpicking phase recently and finally learned Travis picking, and it was from your videos again! I cannot even begin to explain how instrumental, (pun intended), you were to my development as a guitar player in the beginning. Here I am back where I started. I can't thank you enough Marty, keep up the great work.
@@denaaryeh9503 Everytime you learn a song actually learn the chords. Its gets embarrassing eventually hahhaa but seriously learn the theory it will go so far in your development.
I've been playing for almost 20 years, and I don't usually have to look something up unless it's a complicated metal lick. Most of the time I can just put the song on and grab the guitar. Sometimes I'll break it into sections, depending on how many changes the song has.
Just started playing 3 months ago, learning chords and strum patterns (Marty is the best). I tried this song out and my wife heard it and recognized it right off the bat. Said it was the first song where she can gauge my progress so far.
I've only been playing for 4 month and always love this song but thought this was too difficult to play but you broke it down and I was able to nail it. Thanks Marty!!
You are an EXCELLENT teacher. I bought a guitar like 22 years ago because I fell in love with this song and pledged to one day learn it. A few lessons and kids and a lot of life later I am finally picking it back up with a firm resolve to learn this. The first couple tutorials I watched weren't very helpful and slightly overwhelming (for this 22 year beginner), but YOU are a real teacher who knows what it was like before you were a talented player. Some players are excellent musicians but not good teachers. You are BOTH, which is rare. I appreciate it so much! I'm already practicing this and can't wait to learn more from you. I just subscribed. 🙏🏻🙌🏻🎶
This is my mom's favorite song. It's been a special thing for us to listen to on my birthdays as I've grown up. I turn 18 next month, so I'm learning it on my pawpaws guitar, and I'm gonna play it for her. :)
The way you explain things makes the lessons so much easier to understand. I never thought in a million years that I could learn this song in less than 15 minutes. The pattern sounds much harder than it actually is.
I know this is an old video dude but you've got the chords and the picking down perfectly. It's hard to find anything this accurate on the internet. Thank you so much!!
Hey Marty, I’m just re learning this song after picking my guitar back up. I have gone over your lessons on RUclips for years now, just wanted to thank you for being kind of my first guitar teacher to teach me a lot of basics an then songs an some theory along the way. I still wanna get better an I just want to thank you man. Appreciate all the lessons you do for the therapy that is music.
I now it's an old video post Marty, but I have been messing around playing the verses for some time now, and never bothered with the chorus. As always, brilliantly explained, making it sound about as easy as it gets....and now after five minutes of watching your video I can play the whole song. You are a great teacher Marty - I've learned so much from you. Now for the Lindsey Buckingham solos!!! 😅 👍
Thanks Marty! It was that second D string moment that was tripping my up. Twenty years of almost playing it correctly, fixed at 5:40 of this video. Thanks again!
wow Marty I grew up learning guitar from you MANY years ago now you are grey bearded and lookin wise as hell man wow its been lke 10 years since ive seen you but you taught me everything, im so thankful my friend so thankful you have no idea
I have been playing for 3 years. I first started with Keith Urbans guitar and CD lessons which got me started, Then I found you. Your lessons which include strumming patterns is the critical to complete a song. I do watch others to get a full perspective of a song. I come back to you every time. YOU ARE THE BEST.
Marty taught me how to play guitar...I learned my first song from you 3 years ago and now i know well over 200 by heart...love you Marty hope all is well
Marty, do you know every song ?? Haha omg, literally every single song I look up, there you are buddy. Thanks for all the help👍👍👍.. Make sure you don't get corona virus because your the best teacher lol.
Great video bud !! You have the right approach without being over complicated. Well done. Also, for anyone who may be wondering, tuning for this song is standard E. (EADGBE +capo3)
I've been playing for two years. Since I'm a left handed guy, I play right handed guitar . Which is why I seem be advanced enough to play this song and about nine other songs thanks to Marty.
Picked up my guitar again after 30+ years. Where were you back then?! You make learning new music so much easier! Got it an evening. Okay-maybe not the picking but I’ll get there eventually. Can’t thank you enough!
I just saw this in my watch history .I don't know why I had clicked on the lesson for a song that I never even heard of, but I just now learned it , since I have just purchased a new capo. You see, I was looking for another song that I didn't know (at the time I first tried to learn it)needed a capo. I was hoping in vain to remember the name when it came up and I knew I'd come back whenever I got the Dunlop capo. But this song works so thanks for the lesson.

THANK YOU!!! I tried using tabs and by ear and never thought I'd be able to play this unless I strummed it, which doesn't quite sound as good IMHO. This is priceless!! :)
Oh man. Just decided the other day that I would learn this song. Been trying to find a good lesson that sounded like the original. And then you drop this.. You're the man, Marty.

Still learning but no longer a beginner. You have literally taught me everything I know. Not trying be pro or anything past ny prime in that respect. But have played at some get togethers. Played with some very exp family members. Was them that always made me want to learn. Long story short ur the best. Tried other RUclips tutorials but always check if you covered the song first. Anyone has the passion and patience to learn. Stick with Marty. He will show you the way. This one being one of my favorites next to nutshell. Thanks man
awesome job on this! this tutorial was super helpful. it’s my third day playing guitar and i’ve got this down and a couple other cool songs! and chords and basic stuff 😂 thanks for the help!
Marty you've inspired me to continue strumming, I wish there were more people like you in this world. Genuine down to earth people like you are starting to disappear
Thanks for the breakdown. I’ve been playing this tune for a little while, but didn’t realize I was missing a note. After this tutorial it’s all so clear

Jesus I was vibing to this lovely tune when all of the sudden 0:38 "HEYYY ITS MARTY SCHWARTZ HERE!!!!" 😰
Hes a little quick on the Schwartz isn't he.....
Hilarious! I had the same reaction. Ole Marty had us lost with his cool playing. Gave us a wake up call. ; )
😂
You got me ... totally laughed out loud on that one. Had to go back and watch to see how sudden it was, b/c I'm kinda used to it.
HAHAHAH! Me, too! Totally!

Thank you. Marty is on but his explanation of these changes were a bit confusing.

D/F#-G-D/F#-Em x 2

I've been playing guitar for 16 years and Marty is my first real guitar teacher! Thank you, Mr.Schwartz! 😉
Marty! This is just one of many many songs you have taught us!
Ty so much great job!
Marty, you are the best.
The original.
The O.G.
Maybe even just the G.
Thanks so much for another classic break down!
MAN, I remember watching your videos years ago. You’re still such a good teacher, subbed now. Glad the algorithm picked you up for me.
