Siobhan Thomson is SUCH a scary player. Not only she completely disappears inside the RP of the character (look at Riva and Jhayson!), but she also understands her characters so well and is so clever and creative about their capabilities. Riva vs Barry Nyne and this scene are such good examples. A single alien psychic fish person in space just incapacitated basically an entire ship AND it's security/trap system. This is CRAZY, her POWER
@@DeathnoteBB RIGHT??? Adaine is SO fucking clutch it's insane. Fantasy High Junior Year's Last Stand battle is a perfect testament to this. I clapped OUT LOUD when she used Scatter. God blesssss
Riva is going to come home and inflict war crimes of horror her people could never previously comprehend when she rejoins their hivemind and see what shes done
I joined a SW5e game as the same class, as someone who knows NOTHING about Star Wars and ended up with a similarly scary character. It's pretty scary when people get access to 5e enchantment magic but it's built in subtle spell :X

God I've been using the Roku app for so long I forgot how nice it is to be able to set the captions to yellow. So much easier on the eyes! (Genuinely not sure if that's a normal human thing, an autistic thing, or a dyslexic thing, but fuck it we ball.)
@@arborealblazer283 I totally agree, white subtitles are a bit harsh on the eyes, but yellow is truely lovely. Every time I start a dropout video, my routine is : Activate subtitles Set colour to yellow Set background to 50% transparency.
That makes sense since the war crimes affected white people 😂 no problem with all of the genocides and massacres they committed and still commit against native people
i know i'm late, but what exactly is siobhan's 10x aoe effect? Should it be radius x 10 or should it be effective volume x 10 which would be much less effective? (V = 10(4/3 * pi * r^3)) vs the much bigger (V = 4/3 * pi * (10r)^3) At a rough glance, 2^3 is 8 which is close enough to 10x so the smaller number formula ends up being around 40m effective radius as opposed to 200m
It's dnd board math. Because it's 20 feet in any direction, they just 10× the 20 to avoid having to do actual calculations (and also because it's more fun)
All measurements in DND 5e are done linearly (a sphere measured by radius, a cube measured by length or side-length, a cone measured by height, etc), with a couple specific exceptions (I think Prestidigitation's "cleaning clothing" effect measures by volume displacement?) so it makes sense that you multiply the measurement used.
This is a dnd 5e ruleset which describe AoEs exclusively as radii so I assume it is a radius increased by x10 which means it can effect a x1000 larger volume. The fact her ability affects so much on the field makes me think this too. Funnily enough, the volume calculation is how fireball works/worked in old dnd (AD&D 1979) where you were often in dungeons and so you’d get a ‘wall of fire’ effect that could stretch and squeeze as it was a volume of fire; i think gases did this too. For those who play 5e, this is why the text of fireball still describes it’s AoE uniquely as ‘going around corners’.
@@nickmalachai2227There are a few others that specify volume/dimensions like the wall spells (wall of ice) and spells that make object or matter (create water).

3:18 the exact moment Brennan realized this was about to be a bloodbath

I LOVED this moment on Starstruck! Thanks for clipping it
No problem ^^
I also love this moment, and since I couldn't find it on youtube, I decided to do it myself.
Are we sure the fish people aren’t just Canadian
Love these amazing smaller moments that aren't talked about much! It keeps me from rewatching a whole episode just to see if I missed something
That in space range upgrade probably shouldn’t apply to things inside a ship. It is clearly meant for ship scale combat… but boy is it funny.
Siobhan et al have learned that if you just speak confidently, Brennan will roll with it 😂
Luckily Brennan is wont to let cool shit fly.
