    1. Edwards (Teddy*)
    4. Trell (Sualii*)
    7. Moses (Hynes*)
    17. Burton (Young*)
    Those are the changes i would make. Young actually played good, but having Burton on the bench is a big one for me.

    Jakey might not be the fastest, but he is the most effective defender in the comp and incredibly smart defensively, and a natural leader. He would have made a hell of a difference out there longer. I remember in the 2022 series kalyn ponga got the ball near his line in broken field situation and who was the one that got over there and dragged him down…. Jurbo of course

    Just imagine if NSW bring in Latrell at centre, a somewhat contreversal callup, and they end up pulling an upset on QLD and winning the entire thing.
    I will literally cry tears of joy.

    As a queenslander I like your dirty roach viewpoints. Keep up the good work. Hope Madge doesn't bring in Trell. He is the player the maroons fear the most.

    Even if they win Game 2, I just don't know about Game 3 in Brisbane. New South Wales have a shocking record in deciders at Brisbane.

    "You have to kill someone to be send of in State of Origin". Well, Sua'ali'i certainly tried to do that. That had to be one of the worst attack to the head for many years.

    • @aup10
      @aup10 5 месяцев назад

      @@paddyg True, but he never got his shoulder low enough from the very beginning. He is a tall player and he was trying to put a shot on Walsh, who is smaller. He needed to start much lower to avoid any possible contact to the head.

    • @Younis1446
      @Younis1446 5 месяцев назад

      @@paddygbut Cobbo didn't have much of a run at Crighton once Crighton sifted to that side... Maroons are smart in that they tend to attack weaknesses in Blues defence moreso than better defensive players like Crighton... But I think Cobbo could also steam roll Crighton in a one on one situation when he is on the run! He bumped Lomax out of the way who is pretty similar frame to Crighton!
      On another note, the videos on the playlist on my channel titled 'Purpose of Life?' might interest some people!

    • @Younis1446
      @Younis1446 5 месяцев назад

      @@paddygalso Cobbo actually stopped Crighton in a try saver towards the end of the game and also Dearden got the better of Crighton with his speed in the last try for Maroons! So while there is no doubt Crighton is a good player, Maroons players have got the better of him so far into his origin career!

    I cannot believe the NSW fan base/commentators are so seemingly off Latrell… every QLDer does not want to face him.
    Think about it if you are a centre opposing Latrell you are shtting urself. People look at his performances at fullback and forget that when he plays centre he is probably one of the best centres in the game. If he gets selected game 2 I’ll be worried whenever he gets the ball close to our line

    • @NoEvidenceForGod
      @NoEvidenceForGod 5 месяцев назад +1

      I get the sentiment. I just don't think one player being feared by the opposition is enough for Madge to pick him if he doesn't fit the intended strategy/gameplan.

    We will never defeat Queensland.
    Why? Consider this.
    NSW is going up against a bigger state which has more resources available at its disposal. They have a bigger pool of players to choose from (The Brisbane Broncos have 11 feeder clubs alone at its disposal; and thats just 1 club excluding the North QLD Cowboys and thee Gold Coast Titans).
    Forget it. That sendoff would have made no difference to the outcome. We are going up against a bigger opponent and we just simply don't have enough of the necessary resources to be able to mount an effective challenge against QLD.
    Personally, I think that they should scrap State of Origin. We are facing an impossible task. Its a waste of time, money and effort. And not to mention the risk of injury to the players.

    As a once proud blue blood, it kills me to finally say this out loud after all these years but...NSW just suck. You can talk about dropping player A and bringing in player B all you want, but the fact of the matter is NSW are just sh!t and the fish rots from the head. The NSWRL doesn't get it. They have been on this endless loop cycle since 2006 of trying to just jag a series somehow. The board are thinking that, and that's why the coaches coach like it and the players play like it.
    Every player picked is just one bad game away from the media knives and ending up on the NSW sh!t heap of has-beens. It is the culture and the DNA that needs to change.
    There is a good reason why Fittler walked last year along with Bederus, Johns, Alexander and co. This is why we ended up with old Madge who is a crusty old relic of an ex-NRL coach who has had absolutely nothing to do with origin ever. He has been irrelevant since 2014 when he was with Souths. Even the Wests Tigers didn't want him ffs.
    There is a good reason why Jack Wighton refuses to play for NSW. There is a good reason Jamie Lyon refused to play for NSW. No QLD player would EVER refuse to play for QLD. They would die for that jersey. There is an even better reason why Phil Gould has not had a thing to do with the NSWRL since the 90s. Think about that. Would Mal Meninga, Wayne Bennett, or Fatty ever ghost the QRL?
    Buckle up blue bloods, get ready for another maroons dynasty under Slater. It has only just begun...again.
