Last year was bit concerned about QLD halves succession plan after DCE decides to retire. No problems now, Dearden, Mann and Walker in the wings to partner Munster. With this amazing young backline and consistent mobile tough forwards, think QLD going to dominate for another long stint
The Red Card seemed to take away from anyone commenting on what a great pass it was by Reece to spot Joey coming for him and put Hammer through the gap that had been left, knowing he would get smashed. All part of a brilliant match though.
He didn't put hammer through the gap watch it again hammer still had to create a linebreak, go watch it, he paused dummied then bursted through and the rest was history,

NSW supporter here, I thought DCE was fantastic, been so good for so long and still amazing at this level. One of the oldest players on the field and still one of the best and no I don’t support Manly.
This reminds me of last year, qld won the first game and realistically played average with moments of pure brilliance, billy takes them all to task and they improve massively and play so much cleaner and less errors game 2
Returning here after the next two games makes you realise how important that red card was to stopping a 3-0 sweep. Score line flattered the reds in this game
union fan from Ireland here but since moving to aus and discovering league I’m never going back to union lol So much faster and not a bunch of whining to refs and tmos all game like in union .
I live in Argentina. My father in law is a boca juniors fan but watches rugby. He’s been converted to league though. It’s faster, there is more play and it’s understandable.

Maguire should take the blame for not adjusting the team when Sua'lii' went off. NSW was down a man on the right hand side and with Hynes there it was like being two men down. Qld exploited Hynes' defence and strolled through for two tries before Maguire put reinforcements there. Once Crigthon was moved to that side, the bleeding stopped. But the game was essentially gone by the time Maguire reacted. And it unfortunately broke up the NSW combo of Luai, Martin, Crighton and To'o, which should have been one of the attacking strengths.

Man, This team is just unreal. Although I agree that hit on Walsh was what it was and in my opinion sure was a send off, and the game was definitely over at that point, it would have been nice to win against a full 13 NSW side. Kinda takes the joy out of the win a little as a QLD fan. Big big shout out to the NSW side for just getting on with it and doing their best although missing a player really threw them fully out of wack they did what they could. I feel for nsw on this one!

Playing against 12 men won the game. QLD were actually dominated in the forwards, and most of their tries were from the side that Sua'ali'i would have been defending. Then towards the back of the game when NSW were completely off their feet. Call it for what it is, and don't pretend that it was anything else.
I've always been a fan of his. Always been a solid player one mistake in a grand final is all a generation will remember him by. They won't remember the effort and dedication he put in to help the team make there
