When John said “Remember the name: Paul Hunter!” 😢 Little did we know then that The Masters trophy would be named after him so Paul Hunter’s name will never be forgotten. ❤
Good memories, one of the best shows on UK TV at the time. Paul Hunter. Never forgotten. Quality lad and fantastic player. Believe he was genuinely the only player Ronnie feared and thought he was on his level. ❤
A good idea in theory but not sure it would have the same impact in todays world. Bradley Walsh possibly as the host... but sometimes it's best to leave things as they are.
I really enjoyed this, Neal Foulds did better than expected and it was a rare treat to see Paul Hunter, I have no doubt a rare Paul Hunter 3 piece cue in excellent condition and a Marco Fu one too. I always rated Hunter as a player, it would have been interesting to see if he got even better as he got older , like Ronnie, but we will never know now, a big loss to snooker and the History of Snooker.
When Neal Foulds was introduced as a ‘Young Man’ I felt instantly old! Also, hearing them talk about Paul’s many great years ahead of him 😢 Great show from a great time in TV.
Never found Jim Davidson funny, but the air hostess up the aisle joke is a good one. Great presenter. Possibly the worse reader of question cards in the history of British television though.
There are a fair few episodes on RUclips if you search. They did show the first series on Challenge a few years ago but haven't been repeated. Bullseye however is repeated over and over.
@@digeme69 Bullseye don't I know it, I think I've watched every episode 4 times on night shift at work 😅. Honestly it's probably because Jim Davidson is involved, black listed from main stream TV years ago.
Rather disparaging expression that women seems to give Paul @ 24:47 once he played his shot. Felt for him especially as he’s got Jim behind who drops a shit joke just as he’s about to take it.
When Big break first started back in 1991 he didn't want to appear on the show, in fact he didn't for the first couple of series as he thought it wasn't very good.
@@digeme69 Didn't know that. I guess this appearance coincides with Davis' declining fortunes. He was still one of the top players in the early 90s, even though others were winning titles, most notably Hendry.
This was the golden age of weekend tele in UK. Was a great time for TV.
It was shit.
Never struggled to find something decent to watch on a Saturday back then

What a player.
I watched him am seen that he wanted to be the beckham of snooker 🎱! He had the hair style and quality to take the game far. Lovely lad ❤
Well said Sir! He will always be in our memories!
Yes Paul was a brilliant player who was taken too soon RIP Paul
When John said "He's got a great future in the game" I choked up a little.
What an incredible player Paul Hunter was. His clear talent was on full display here. Heartbreaking.
Great to see the wonderful Paul Hunter
Paul Hunter would have definitely been a world champion. Sadly taken way way too early.
Oh miss the good old day's
RIP paul hunter. Class player
😢❤ Paul Hunter. Great lad, wonderful player. Emotional watch yet so good to see him. Gave so much pleasure in such a short life.
He would have had multiple world championships for sure,

RIP Paul Hunter. This was a great show.
Incredible performance for a 19 year old kid.
Ronnie won the UK at 17....
@@Joe-ye5mcAye but could he get £360 in the Pocket Money round or down to the pink in Make or Break? That’s the real quiz.
@@cmcg3738yeah he got £380 and cleared up on the final round.
There is a video of it
R. I. P Paul Hunter. Such a shame so young and talented..
Bring back big break ❤

Best to leave it alone

Brings back memories, no decent Tv these days
Aye, that's why I watch old TV shows on RUclips.
So weird to watch people acting naturally on tv in 2024.
Paul did really well. He had potential to be world champ i think, but sadly we'll never know. R.I.P Paul.
rest in peace Paul Hunter
Fantastic programme, great effort from the late great Paul Hunter.
"a young man with a bright future" wow, that hit me hard 😢
Good one 😂😂😂
Paul Hunter was playing some stunning shots in pocket money and the final
Paul reminds me of a young Leo de caprio
Paul Hunter...what a class player 🔥
Was such a talent and such a nice lad it's so so sad ❤❤

The amazing Paul Hunter…. 🌹

They need to bring this back but the woke world would never let it be
Paul Hunter was a grwst talent
Was Big Break treated by the players like a professional snooker match?
RIP Paul

Shame this show is impossible to find anywhere. No vhs dvd nothing. Sitting in a bbc store room somewhere.

24:44 the woman's expression here 😮 i assume she was unhappy with Paul's break?

That's correct, it’s already in the description 😊
Says 1997 at the end of the programme for some reason though.
@@djtaylormade1195 It was the year it was recorded at the time.
Forgot how good looking Paul Hunter was such a massive loss for Snooker
With Snooker as big as it is nowadays, they should fetch this show back.
So glad i stumbled on to this. My favourite game show growing up.
i probably held the cue paul was using in this show held it for him signing autographs at the regal welsh final he went on to win that in 98
I think that was his first ranking win.
Start of the show: this doesn't seem to be something Davis would be good at. Halfway through the video: yup, Davis definitely isn't good at this.
