Oliver Wahlstrom...from potential 30 goal scorer(according to some) to fourth line ramrod. A valuable lesson that an above average shot does not constitute success.😮
Sounds like a future video: Your favorite (or all) player(s) who have played on all 3 of your favorite teams. Or maybe you have done it already, but your favorite player(s) who you wish played for your teams because you like them (not just because they were good).
He’s done it for every team in the league including the teams that have moved during his time watching hockey. I think THG had to do like a top 20 instead of top 15 for the Canucks because it got ridiculous otherwise. Too many favourites.
@@christhornycroft3686 I think you misunderstand what I am saying. I am talking a list of players who played for the Canucks, Stars, and Bruins in their career. Not each team, but all 3 in their career.
What’s interesting about Luneau and Zelwegger is that they seem to be fighting for the same spot. Seems like the defensemen with sure spots for now are Fowler, Gudas, Dumoulin, Mintyukov, & LaCombe with Vaakaninen, Luneau, and Zelwegger fighting for the last spot or waiting for a chance to show out when a trade or injury opens up some space.
I cannot stand the way Berggren is seen by the Wings, mostly the fans. He played 67 games in 22-23, so clearly the team liked what he was doing. Then Yzerman signed several more guys in the summer and the organization decided he'd be better off helping Grand Rapids. And he did that. He was an integral part and probably their most important player in the playoff run. He got into 12 games with the Wings and had 6 points, but more and more the talk around him was about how he's not good enough defensively and rumors about his attitude started developing. Now he's no longer exempt from waivers and the Wings know they can't lose him for nothing, but they're putting him on the 4th line with Tyler Motte and Joe Veleno. He needs more help than that if he's going to produce some offense. And all the while, plenty of fans have just written him off in no time, and think he's the one blocking Marco Kasper. It's very weird to me because it feels like we've just fumbled the ball at the 1 yard line without any external pressure. Berggren isn't perfect and he's being brushed aside for it.
Mackie Samoskevich is a big watch for Florida. Led the Checkers in scoring last year and will hopefully fill in well on the 3rd line with Luostarinen and Lundell this year. Was hurt early in camp but it was expected he would make the team and he has getting PP2 time towards the end of training camp.
Husso looked good in the preseason. Hope that keeps up. Last year he was out for a good chunk with injuries, and even before that he wasn't playing well. If the Wings are going to make the playoffs, they need one of their goalies to step up this season.
As a Capitals fan, I would have picked Vrana, Dubois, and Ovechkin. We agree on Vrana. I would pick Dubois because the Capitals are on the hook for a lot of money with him, and he does have star upside. And Ovechkin because we're hoping we get the Ovechkin from the second half of last season, not the Ovechkin from the first half of last season. And chasing Gretzky's record is exciting. But I do agree with the Chychrun and Thompson picks, too. Mangiapane would also have been a good choice. He seems to have good chemistry with Ovechkin and Strome. The Capitals have a lot of good choices, which should make them fun to watch this season.

As a Hurricanes fan, I'm going to be watching Necas' line all year. I think that line has 3 guys, Necas, Kotkeniemi, and Svechnikov who are full of promise and just need to release that potential.
For my ducks its going to be Carlsson, Gauthier, and Zegras. Im curious to see how Zegras bounces back and how much of a jump Leo takes and of course if Gauthier can win the calder.
Hope that Warsofsky is gonna give Gushchin a spot in the top 9 and force the hanf of GMMG to keep him in the show even tho Grier love is mid player (Kunin, Goodrow, Grundstrom)
Blues are gonna be an interesting team to follow this year. Also excited to see how the Wings pan out. Wish Perron was still on that team with Vladi and Kane. That would have been a nice veteran PP unit. Tank is a beast
Luchanko when the Flyers drafted him i was like who he is said to have good passing skills . I'm sure the Flyers will see where his game is at in the 9 games his plays .
As an Oilers fan I am super excited by Emberson. I'm not placing super high expectations on him since he hasn't played 40 NHL games yet, but for me the key to the Oilers cup is unlocking a dormant form of Nurse, the one that made us love him in the first place. Nurse hasn't been able to be his full self with defensively irresponsible partners Barrie and Ceci (the latter was defensively skilled, yes, but not responsible). The last partner Nurse had where he could be his best self was Ethan Bear, meaning the bar Emberson needs to reach as Nurse's partner isn't super high either and is within his grasp. If he beats the odds and pans out as a second-year defensemen, don't be surprised to not only see Nurse as a great defensemen, but the Oilers having one of if not the best top 4 defense in the league, along with arguably the best top 6 forwards...
As good as Minty-ukov was for the Ducks, and adding Zellweger... The blueline and the forwards will be interesting to watch for the first month. There could be a big improvement for the Ducks this season.
Good player, just needs to improve defensively, but offensively there's alot to like there. Big man, can skate well, has a nice shot & sees the ice well. Ideally a 2nd pair or 1st pair #2 supporting a #1 like Werensk. 10-12G, 30-35aass, 40-45 pt Dman, PP#2 guy. If he learns to be a shutdown guy too, he could be indispensable.
Ah yes, furrowed brows, but combine that with clenched teeth and were talking a whole other level of aggravation. Or a David Gilmour guitar solo. ( I read that in a review from Rolling Stone magazine and always remembered it cuz it's pretty funny. )
barre-boulet was a guy that was with tampa for awhile but just couldn't stick long-term on the roster. as a tampa guy, i hope that he can make it happen with montreal. he's a real try-hard guy. am intrigued to see what lane hutson can do. I don't think Sens fans are generally upset about Yak being sent back, regardless of how Kleven plays. Plus they are very different players, Yak would not benefit much from third pairing minutes without PP time (Chabot and Sanderson will get the 5v4 time).
Ana, their 3 young D - Mintyuk, Zelwgr, & Lunea. I really hope these guys do well, what a trio they will be in a couple of yrs (along w Lacombe). Bos, Lohre & Merkulv both liit up the AHL), Swaymn (can he live up to his 8+mil deal?) Buf, Cozen (needs to rebound & be a ppg player - show Sabre Mgmt they made the right move trading away Middlestd. Byrm - see the aforementioned. Bensn, can he get 20+ goals his sophomore? Cgy, Kuzmenk, last yr of his deal, will b he force Cgy to sign him long term?, Honzk - I liked what I saw from him last yrs training camp, not to mention this yrs. Jake Bean. I think there is a decent Dman there. Car, J.Blake, made the team, tore up NCAA the last 2 yrs, could be a good 2nd line winger. Necas, will he be motivated to play well though Carolina are more interested in moving on him from him, & Kotchetk, had a great rookie yr last yr - can be build on it. Chi, Levshun, once this guy gets called up from the AHL he will be a menace in the league for yrs to come, Korchinsk, has a lot of potential to be a Top pt producer. Reichel, a bit of a forgotten prospect but has good skill. CLb, Fantil, I expect him to tear up the league this yr or next yr - a PPG. Chinakh, a player I feel has lots of room for growth. Jiricek - see the aforementioned. Col, Middlestd, got his feet wet last yr in Colorado, sign an extension - can he emerge as a ppg player. Colton, can he become a 50+ pt player. Kovalenko, looked good last yr as a rookie. Dal, Stankoven & Bourque (potential RoTY candidates?), Harley - how much better can he be? Det, Raymond, 100 pts? Edvinsson, can he emerge as a 2nd pair D? Kasper, can he stay up with the team & make some inroads as a rookie? Edm, C.Brown, was a good player years ago, can he score 20-25 goals on the Top 6 or 3rd line? Emberson, has some good ability as a puck mover. Stu Skinner, lots of pressure on him to lead EDM to a Cup - I think he does just that. Conn Smythe candidate? Flo, no one, they don't have any players I think will break out. Most of the team has proven what they can do last yr. But can they as a team build off last yrs success or will they regress? LAk, Byfield, a PPG this yr? Turcotte, a former 1st Rd'r still trying to find his NHL game. Kuemper, can he help LAk to the playoffs? VGk, Hertl, will be integral to their offensive attack. Holtz, former 1st Rd'r who proved he was too good for the AHL - can he score on the Top 6?, Samsonov, proved he can at least compete for a #1 job Mtl, Dach, has shown glimpses that he can be a good 2nd liner. Roy, tore up QMJ & the AHL last yr. L.Hutson, lots of hype & excellent NHL stint last yr. Can he emerge as a 2nd pair D in his rookie season ? Min, Khuznutdinov, looks to be NHL caliber - can he take it to another level, say 50 points? Rossi, did well in technically his rookie yr but can he become a #1 or #2 C they need and expected? Wallstedt, I fully expect him to see some games mid-season - but he's pretty much penciled as their future #1. Nas, Stamkos, 70+ points on the Top 6? Will he find chemistry in Nas? Tomasino, he has good skill but hasn't been able to break out - he is running out of chances. Lastly, Jankowski, I liked what I saw of him in last yrs playoffs. NJ, Mercer, struggled last season but there is a lot to like. Markstrom, acquires a bonafide #1 goalie who can win games single handedly, & L. Hughes, can he find another level? NYi, Tsyplakov, not sure he gets past 20 goals, but he brings a lot of other elements, Sorokin, can he reclaim his Top 10 or Top 5 goalie status again? Holmstrom, a solid 3rd liner but can become more? NYr, Chytl, Kakko, & Schneider, all of them have high end skills, are still very young, but need to show they can be regular contributors Ott, Perron, can he score 20 goals?. Ullmark, has all the ability to be the #1 guy. Norris can he stay healthy & put his health issues aside & be a #2 centre? Phi, Farabee, I've always thought he was underrated. Drysdale, was a huge prospect who just needs to stay healthy & he might be a 60+ point Dman soon enough. Mickhov - obviously - surely Top 3 RoTY candidate? Pit, McGroarty, will be pressure on him, as he's been surrounded with controversy the last 2 yrs. Pickering, if he does get some time with the Pens - lots to like with his game but still young. Glass, will be asked to do more with added ice time. StL, Bolduc, showed some glimpses of Top 6 ability albeit as a 2nd liner. Kyrou, he has to score 50 goals some time, Broberg, again pressure will be on him with his 4m+ contract SJ, W.Smith, I like his game, I think he will take some time to get going though this yr. Eklund, can he get 60 pts? And, lastly, Celebrini, probably better than Smith in the long term but he SJ will manage his load as a 18 yr old. Smith or Celebri could be in the talks for ROtYR. Sea, Wright, I think he will eventually surpass Beniers as their best centre. Daccord, had a great rookie yr last yr. And, R.Evans, good offensive Dman who is still finding his feet in the NHL. Tam, Moser, won't ever be at the level of Sergachyev but still has a strong game, Duke, I liked what I saw from him in the AHL & preseason, & Atkinson - can he regain his 25+ goal ability on the 3rd line? Tor, OEL, I think Toronto is the perfect fit for him. Woll, showed last yr as a rookie that he can handle the level of the NHL & be a potential #1. N.Robertson, 20+ goals, has alot of skill though diminutive size, will be playing for an improved contract next summer. Uta, Cooley, he has another level, can he take another step & get 65+ points in his sophomore yr or will he hit a sophomore jinx? Sergachyev, excellent offensive Dman coming back from serious injury alot will be expected. Stenlund, under the radar UFA signing, but good player, can he add anything to their roster Van, Sprong, underrated signing, doesn't get the respect probably deserves, but there is still a 20 - 25 goal scorer there. Sherwood, not much is expected of him but still a sneaky good UFA signing for the bottom 6. Silovs, had a great playoff can he pick up where he left off, share the goal at least & put up some respectable stats?, Was, Ovechkin, can he score 41 goals & break WG record this yr, McMicheal, can he improve & be a consistent scorer & #2 C? And, Sandin, regressed last yr, but had spurts where he looks confident enough to be a PP#1 guy & 2nd pair D, & other times where he doesnt Wpg, Lambert, I full expect him to atleast play 30+ games this yr & once he gets called up doesnt get sent back. Chibrikov, see the aforementioned. Kahkonen, has put very good stats wherever he's played - AHL, NHL. Could make people forget Brossoit.
As Shannon has said thousands of times, he writes the boards as notes for himself to help him remember details. Even then, here’s a wild idea: actually watch the video to hear him talk about those teams on the far side of the board!

Stenlund, under the radar UFA signing, but good player, can he add anything to their roster
Van, Sprong, underrated signing, doesn't get the respect probably deserves, but there is still a 20 - 25 goal scorer there. Sherwood, not much is expected of him but still a sneaky good UFA signing for the bottom 6. Silovs, had a great playoff can he pick up where he left off, share the goal at least & put up some respectable stats?,
Was, Ovechkin, can he score 41 goals & break WG record this yr, McMicheal, can he improve & be a consistent scorer & #2 C? And, Sandin, regressed last yr, but had spurts where he looks confident enough to be a PP#1 guy & 2nd pair D, & other times where he doesnt
Wpg, Lambert, I full expect him to atleast play 30+ games this yr & once he gets called up doesnt get sent back. Chibrikov, see the aforementioned. Kahkonen, has put very good stats wherever he's played - AHL, NHL. Could make people forget Brossoit.

Just watching this on my phone it's hard to see the far side of the white board. If it could he turned a bit would be nice.
As Shannon has said thousands of times, he writes the boards as notes for himself to help him remember details. Even then, here’s a wild idea: actually watch the video to hear him talk about those teams on the far side of the board!

Read Ritchie for Colorado, and was wondering why Shannon was excited to watch melting chocolate Santa Nick Ritchie.
