Some history: I am 60, graduated from high school in 1976. The hippies were in the 60's. Cooking was a fun past time, one that I still enjoy, for women. It was and is satisfying to prepare something that I and others enjoy. Thanks for sharing this book.
Very cool! Yes, I have read up on what all was happening in the past 😋 I feel pretty confident I would have been a hippie, myself. I still dig the shag rugs, bell bottoms, and lava lamps, whatever the case! Anyway, I agree with you that it is satisfying to create a meal and feed friends and family! Definitely nothing wrong with it :] I hope you are well!
I love older books like this! I have quite a few art & music books that are pretty old, and they’re kind of precious. They say things like, “if you want to learn more, here’s a list of business addresses that you can send a handwritten letter to asking for more information.” Pre-internet days just feel so wholesome to me. 💛
Don't they? Things were oh-so different, and they really are like little precious relics in a lot of ways. Hang on to them! :] You're a cool ass chick, Emily - I like you!
Hahaha, thank you so much, Laura! I'm glad you enjoyed this one, and it feels great to return the favor after sooo many tingly videos of yours have helped me relax!
Definitely my favorite video of you so far. It's always a shame when a video should be very enjoyable sound-wise but there is just too much going on or there are some 'mistakes' which ruin the listening experience. Sometimes I really like someone's voice but for whatever reason I can't get fully relaxed. This did everything right for me so I'm glad you stuck with it despite the failed attempts. Btw I don't know who did your hair but I think it looks even better than in the favorite book video.
Awwww 😭 This comment just made my day, from start to finish. I did my hair, myself, in this one! That makes me feel great. Haha. And I'm so glad to read that this video did the trick for you! I try to reduce outside noise as much as possible, but it seems like my neighborhood is usually fighting back. I hope you're doing well!
That's a great idea! I'm no calligraphist, but I actually do have an ink and quill set I picked up from Harry Potter world at Universal Studios -- along with some parchment. Maybe I can work something out with a little practice!
elo ASMR has Yes! I follow a facebook group that does Calligraphy. There are new and experienced calligraphies. facebook.com/groups/274327049317209/?ref=share If you’re interested.
GREAT Video!!! 😊 Being read a book 📖, Rain ☔, and the crinkling of paper 📃! 😄😄😄 You might find it interesting, that in German it is unusual to use the word "und" (= and) at the end of a longer list of items. And the Oxford-comma would be a mistake, if you used it in a listing in German. 🎓 So maybe the English in your book is still influenced by the German impact on American English. Btw: I inherited a similar book from my father. It is from the late 1950s and the copyright says, that it is the German version of an American book! 😆😉😄
Thank you so much, Marco! Great to hear from you :D I do find that interesting! So you just rattle off a list of items and then that's it? And the last two aren't separated by anything? Either way, that's so interesting to see the linguistic connections!
Well, isn't it a little gem of a book? Some passages were so cringeworthy, but I found them more funny than otherwise. It's hard to believe that this is what was expected from women back then. And a little fun fact: Charlotte Turgeon (editor of the book) was a classmate of the late Julia Child. Anywho, I really enjoyed this video, 'twas very relaxing.
You gonna eat all your life so you better learn how to cook! Nuff said! And I'll share my kitchen with you anytime! But if you come over, bring a bag of rye flour cuz we be making bread. Shit, now I'm hungry. See what you did?!!!!! hnahaha
Mines actually the slightly different FR-S model, but I LOVE the gt86, and getting it in their grey color would be my own wet dream, but it's good! 😋 Still serving me well.
Intro lasts until 6:25 !

This was so relaxing and I really enjoyed this. Another great and sleepy video.
Thanks so much, Jason! I hope you're doing very well!
Rainy day cooking with Elo;🍽the perfect way to calm down before a new week!
I know it's coming towards the end of the week now that I'm replying, so I hope you have a great weekend ahead! :D
I've spent the last hour with this in the background talking to the screen when you mention certain odd recipes. Great, as always!
Hahaha, thank you so much, Laura! I'm glad you enjoyed this one, and it feels great to return the favor after sooo many tingly videos of yours have helped me relax!
Really enjoyed this. Thank you!
You're very welcome, William! :]
Hey Elo. Perfect timing as I'm heading to bed.
Also, my phone autocorrects Elo to Elmo.
My phone always wants me to listen to Electric Light Orchestra, when I search Elo.
Lmao, that's amazing on both counts. I hope you're doing well, Chris!
@@KenziixInxDisguise I really should have thought that one through, hahaha. I was sure I did OK with the name picking! But I guess not.
27:16 "or like, Zoidberg's mouth tentacles." This wins the internet for today.
Lmao, I'm glad you liked that one 😉
I’m hoping you do another reading in the near future. If you do enjoy reading. I do. Sad not many enjoy it to pick up a book and read.
Banger !
Ye ye!
Amazing thankyou xx
You're very welcome! :D
I could listen to you talk for hours. A relatively easy to make video would be you talking about some of your favorite movies, just a suggestion.
lol I've heard about this book. Such different times (thankfully!)
Amen! It's really a gem 😂

In the future, I would love an ASMR Calligraphy video ^_^. Or painting. More reading videos are always welcomed.
