They were up and down all season 1st quarter of the season(40 games): 19-21 2nd quarter of the season(80 games): 26-14 3rd quarter of the season(120 games): 24-16 4th quarter of the season(162 games): 34-8
I'm surprised they don't even mention Hudson, Zito, and Mulder. Also Miguel Tejada had a great year. But I think the genius of Billy Beane was adopting the Bill James school of thought before anyone else.
They had the same rotation the year before too. Tejada and Chavez too. The genius was replacing Giambi, Damon and Isringhausen with Hatteberg, Justice and Bradford for a fraction of the cost, and not missing a beat. That’s the point of the movie. (Yes, Bradford was there in 2001 already but him taking over a much larger role in relief pitching was a Moneyball move).
Love this scene the Owner is so serious action speak louder than words....
"What are you afraid of?"
Me: "microtransactions"
Didn't know Bobby "Satan himself" Kotick was ever in a movie. How did that happen?
My exact first thought was "why the fuck is Bobby Kotick in this movie" LOL

@@d.a.baracus if true, that's great but whenever I hear about very rich people having a "non-profit" it's usually just a tax evasion scheme.
@@d.a.baracusthat sounds like money laundering/tax evasion if I ever heard it and I dont even know any context of the dude named.
@@him_That_is_me ironic u say that on yt xd. when most big content creators u wcatch have been manipulating u for years

That doesn't seem up & down... That seems like they got off to a slow start, picked it up & got into a nice groove, & got super hot at the end...
That seems more like up and down, up up, and UP a lot.
This is management, they don't want to spend money and expect you to find the cheapest and best answers for them
On July 15th, 2002 they were 4.0GB behind 1st in the AL West...Pete was right
Games behind behind
Brad pitt is the best actor
I think the guy player the owner is fantastic
I hate defective chairs.
Was this a deleted scene? Also, I don’t get it. Why were they there? Why was the chair thrown?
They were afraid of getting fired because shit was not going well. It was not a deleted scene.
Was not a deleted scene ... go watch the movie again it's there
Scene it’s in the movie, they have just made up the team using the sbermetrics and the team was not doing well, they were reassuring ownership.
Why did he throw the chair? He was not happy?
Love the movie. Which these made a soccer version.
Leicester City would be a great candidate
AC Milan
Brigthon will be a good source material for Moneyball example in European Football (soccer).
They make Beane out to be a genius. But he had the best starting rotation in baseball.

Yeah, who drafted, traded or signed them though?
Uhh, him getting that rotation is why he is considered genius?
Isn’t that why he’s considered a genius lol?
Ahh the devil himself
