I've also kept Stridebreaker as my 1st item even with the nerfs; I just cannot seem to get better performance from a non-Tiamat item in early game. Yes, if Maiden is down I have to contort the camps a bit to get graves, but the raw speed at which you can flow through the jungle with cleave and ghouls/maiden up is ridiculous, plus it has all the stats Yorick loves for pvp (except CDR of course). I miss the passive speed-on-damage SO MUCH though, and usually buy Cleaver 2nd for that.
If I recall correctly from one of his recent videos, he explained that SoS's damage multiplier does work on ghouls now, but ghouls and maiden don't stack it anymore. So, you can't max stack it very easily in a fight, but the damage still works.
Most of the time, i'm trying out new things to see what works or fits. Stridebreaker just lets you clear the jungle quickly and gives good stats and versatility. Shojin is underwhelming, titanic hydra feels clunky, and i need a HP/AD item to go second before Liandry's. So Cleaver > stridebreaker also works, but stride gives a little more damage to monsters early. Personally i still think cleaver is probably the best rush item, but its worth exploring other options. Cleaver X Liandry's is solid right now, it's just the X item that i can't work out what's best.
@@NinetalesOCE i still think triforce is the better 1st item with the conquer setup due to the nerf on the damage of other ad items the extended trades and longer fights on the current meta
I run ignite with stridebreaker as the ms it gives means you dont really need flash. I almost always look to 3 camp into invade their red with my ignite and then kill if they contest, it works 80% of the time. Have you tried this or is it not viable in higher elo? edit: I also run blue smite as you don't need the red smite slow as you have Stride
hey love ur videos bro im Sauron#nasus on the euw ladder, you are rank 13 and im rank 14 world on yorick on leagueofgraphs ahhahahahaha , my build is INSANE BRO, try it out, conq triumph alacrity cut down, eyeball , ultimate hunter for having perma maiden up, black cleaver > gauntlet > unending despair > jaksho > randuins or Fon And last item sell boots for either randuins or fon, its free elo build try it out hahaha thx for the teaching picked up yorick this season thanks to ur videos. minor runes ( haste adaptive flat health ) ALSO i run exhaust every game to help in early ganks, it has by far been the best summoner for me , tried barrier heal ignite flahs ghost and it is so GOOD in fights able to turn rly bad teamfights into healing up with Q. ALSO THAT 12 GHOUL BARON THING I PULLED IT OFF IN A REAL GAME HAHAH! XD hope u make it big bro!

Does that mean they've fix SoS on Yorick? I remember a video about you saying that its bugged and not to build it?

its a good iteam on yorick, people usually pick the other hydra iteam for more dmg/burst
