  • My hiking buddy told me this is one of her favorite hikes on the island so I knew I had to try it out! Its a long hike since we took the way via Manoa falls but not too hard. Few sections are a bit on the thinner side and a few land slides add to the fun! Too bad the water wasnt flowing that great.. but great excuse to go again!

what's up bro... hey just so you know... if you had kept following that stream up towards the top of the mountain you would have hit that secret waterfall Elua Pohuku ("Two Rocks", just to give it an unofficial name). it would have taken you another 45 - 60 mins traveling upstream to get there.

I'm making a faster way. u can get to upper lulumahu by actually going to lulumahu falls and about 300 ft before the waterfall you can take this small trail that takes you up on the ridge closest to the pali highway... I just like to call it "K1 ridge" and as you come up that trail takes you right above the lulumahu falls and and u can drop in like literally right above everyone else sitting at the bottom of the waterfall. not sure if u knew but there is like a waterfall twice as big right above lulumahu falls. u have to repel down.

Sounds like another hike added to my list!! I heard there was another trail that goes to it via the bottom waterfall, but never looked for it. But, now that I know theres a bigger waterfall up there.... Thanks for sharing!!

Is there a quicker way to get to the upperfalls if you go from the regular lulumahu trail?

I heard there is a way to get up there from the bottom of the falls. I think (?) that someone fell not too long ago so be careful. I wanted to go explore and find it but keep forgetting about it lol
